Asada burrito...or better yet, burrito de lechuga
    Noemi A.

Tried out the restaurant for the first time since I moved to the area (10 yrs) & I wasn't pleased. Ordered asada tacos & asada burrito. The meat was okay. I could taste the seasoning, but it lacked salt & bit more flavor. Tacos were average, nothing memorable. The burrito was on a diet if I compare them to what other Mexican restaurants sell, which were my expectations. I would expect a bit more filling for a $10 burrito. The salsa was really good though, but I don't think I'll visit this place anytime soon just for the salsa. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food as it wasn't what I expected. I don't plan on returning.

Bill for two Chicken Taco Dinners

Went in today 1/11/2022 and I ordered 2 Chicken Taco dinners which I was charged 29.79...I was told that now they're charging for the Cheese and Sour Cream .50 cent per item for each Taco which would have added another 6.00 to the bill for a grand total of 35.00...now granted the food is decent and I understand that Cheese and Sour is not free BUT that's the purpose of purchasing a dinner so you WON'T have to purchase extras...now if I was purchasing 6 Tacos I could see the extra charge but I'm paying you 30 bucks for two dinners and you still want me to pay extra for the Sour Cream and Cheese?? I and my family have been supporting this establishment since day one but when you start to get petty because you're now established in the neighborhood and just charging outlandish prices I can no longer support...it's many Mexican restaurants down Pulaski and I'm sure they'll more than appreciate a new customer

Great spot for cheap, authentic Mexican food! My friend and I came here on a hot May night and sat outside on the patio. There's not much room inside the restaurant, so the patio is perfect for a late spring/summer night. We had the beef, steak, chicken, and chorizo tacos as well as a steak Gordita. The Gordita was by far our favorite!! Essentially, the Gordita is just like a taco, but with a thicker corn tortilla. Definitely coming back for the gorditas!

Okay so this place is teeny tiny, but somehow they managed to fit tables inside and seating at the counter. When I went in on a mission last night there was a patron at the counter enjoying his meal & 3 young ladies waiting to order. I'm sure that the establishment was at capacity including myself.lol. I do however appreciate their outdoor seating, if had come with my entourage we would've enjoyed this. Service was A1, the lady that took my order was sweet and had a mom vibe. She was friendly and smiled, people aren't as happy as they should be when serving others, so I appreciated this. They were quick too! Even with multiple orders ahead of me my wait was only 7 minutes! So to the food and to the point: I got horchata, rice and beans , steak tacos. Horchata was 2 thumbs up. On the sweet side, but very yummy! Rice and beans were a hit! Rice was soft but not mushy and the beans actually had flavorrrr. It was a lot of cheese on the beans, but I think for most that's a win. Steak tacos were kinda a let down :( I was so excited because my co worker raved about this place and I waited all week to travel to this side of town ( anything for good tacos ) they were ALRIGHT. Not better than Manny's in Roseland. The steak was kinda dry and was not seasoned. I should've tried 3 different tacos, but I'm willing to visit the other location when I'm already on that part of town!

Stake Huarache..This thing its just massive. Very small place but that doesn't stops it from being a lost gem.

As much as it was packed from 2:30 til 3:30 we were still were able to order a drink at bar. Martin was so nice and took our order and brought it to us being we went back to waiting line. The place is small with a hard time to walk around when it's full. It's a nice bar restaurant and didn't realized until we were leaving that there's a back area. The bartenders could be a little more social and happy bc that seem a bit dull and unhappy working there. Unlike Martin he was happy. Mildred was our server and she did phenomenal. We stood at the door for about 20 minutes before someone finally told us the wait would be 1-2 hours. Keep in mind, the place is pretty small and already crowded, so there's barely any room to stand while you wait. After getting on the waitlist, we decided to go to a nearby spot for food--but not even 5 minutes later, we got called back saying our table was ready. When we returned, we were seated along the wall in a very tight space--so tight that if I stretched my arm out, I would've hit the person next to me. We noticed a large table nearby had been sitting for a while without food. When their food finally came out, it made us realize our wait would probably be even longer. After another 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been able to order, we decided to leave. I'm not sure the space is fully ready for the rush right now--it feels overcrowded and service is slow. I'll give it another try once the hype dies down. I'm happy for their success, though--just be prepared to be patient when you go.

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. The service was also AMAZING from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. One of those dinners where you leave already talking about when you're coming back If you're looking for the place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, date night, tacos & margaritas, or honestly just an incredible dinner in general... this is IT

When we tried them we realized she accidentally gave us each other's. No big deal but it happened again with the food when a different server brought it out. She stopped once to take our order and once to bring the drinks. That's it. We did not get checked on until we were already almost done with our food. Cute patio. Inside seating wasn't busy at all.

Appetizers were quac and chips, and shrimp ceviche. The guac was really good, but the ceviche was the star. Served on a bed of cucumbers, it was visually beautiful, and the flavor was fresh and complex. There was also a LOT of it. We ended up taking some home. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates. Finally, the service--the servers are attentive without hovering. If we needed something, they were there, but never intrusive. It is hard to believe this is a little neighborhood spot, given the service and the quality of the food. It was not too busy tonight--we ate early--but I recommend reservations. It is very popular with the neighborhood. Bottom line, we each had 2 margaritas, appetizers, and entrees, and our bills with tip were around $105.00 each--totally worth it! Try this little gem--you won't regret it.

Only real negatives were that they did not offer any draft beer options and the Chips y Salsa ($3.75) had a meager quantity of chips to eat their tasty and generous tomatillo and 3-chile salsa options. Would actually go 4.5 stars based on those 2 factors, but gave the benefit of the extra half star due to how good our service was and the excellent flavor of the veggie sandwich.
