She quickly brought out our drink order along with chips and salsa, which was very tasty with a little kick. The kid's plate was plentiful and good for our granddaughter. Our daughter ordered the enchiladas suiza which she stated were very good. My husband chose the special which he really enjoyed. I chose a bowl of menudo, which was good but not the best I have had in RGV. We will be back to try something else on the menu!

I had the barbacoa breakfast plate, which comes with barbacoa, two eggs your way, beans, and tortillas. The barbacoa was so tender and delicious, while the beans and eggs were cooked perfectly, full of flavor. Our corn tortillas were also on point. We felt like we had gone back in time due to the prices and portion sizes. I believe my meal was $6.99, and it was one of the more expensive breakfast selections. All six of us ate well for around $50. The service was also excellent and the setting was just right. Kinda old school in there - and it was easy to see why it was full of locals.

Everyone dresses with bakers hats and the place is clean and you can smell the fresh baked bread being cooked. The service is a great as well. As soon as we were seated, we were helped and our order was taken. From there it just became a below average experience. The eggs were fine but look at the pictures. The hashbrowns look store bought or like from a fast food joint. The ham was thin sliced and looked like a cut from a deli meat package from the store. This was very disappointing for the price of I believe $11.99 for this plate. You can get much better food for $12.00 in the RGV. The best thing about this place was the pan dulce/sweet bread. The conchas were good. My advice if you are in the area, stop for the pan dulce but skip the over priced breakfast food because you will be disappointed like I was. 3 stars for the cleanliness and ambiance and pan Dulce. That's about it!

If you're not looking for this place or haven't been here, you may not find it because it is somewhat hidden from the road. Outside you wonder if it's a restaurant. Inside - different story. It's a bit small but very comfortable both in size and atmosphere. We tried their breakfast taco plate which actually has 3 tacos and beans or potatoes. The tortillas are phenomenal - some of the best we've ever eaten! The tacos are much larger than most breakfast tacos and they come like a taco - not the traditional south Texas breakfast taco that others think is a burrito. We tried potato egg and cheese, bacon egg and cheese and sausage egg and cheese. All of them were very good and you can tell everything is made fresh. The refried beans were good - some decent flavor - not the best I've had, but way better than a lot that I've had. The salsa was good - not very 'spicy' but not bad either. Both the quality and the freshness - and definitely the tortillas - will have U.S. coming back again!

However, after we were seated on the patio, staff informed us that the kitchen closes at 10:00 PM, which was completely fine. Later, when they came by to ask if we wanted another round of drinks, we were told the bar also closes at 10:00 PM.. Around 10:15 PM, while we were still seated outside, staff locked the restaurant doors and turned off the lights while we were seated on the patio. Shortly afterward, a staff member told us we needed to leave and took our drinks, even though mine was still full. The issue isn't that the kitchen or bar closes at 10:00 PM--it's the lack of clear and consistent communication. If customers are expected to finish up and leave by 10:00 PM, that expectation should be clearly stated online, posted on the door, and communicated upfront when guests are seated. The current closing times are inconsistent and create a confusing and disappointing experience. Also the guac and margarita were lacking.

This one is in a small shopping center next to Sam's Club on the NW corner of 10th and Trenton. The facilities are still relatively new, everything looks clean. They have a nice dining room but also offer take-out. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, closing at 3:30 PM. Their menu has a good variety of breakfasts, from chilaquiles, omelets, classics like huevos rancheros, huevos divorciados, huevos a la mexicana, norteño breakfast of machacado (dried beef) and eggs, molletes, pancakes, and more. Their lunch offerings include a variety of salvadoran pupusas, caldo Tlalpeño, the jaliciense carne en su jugo; skillets of chicharrón pensado en salsa, frijoles con "veneno" (chorizo), melted cheese; various tacos from flautas, tacos and la plancha, tacos Llorarás (jalapeño relleno and birria), gorditas, enchiladas, and more. They also have a children's menu. They often have promotional specialty items like tortas de chilaquiles or tortas ahogadas which I have yet to try because I keep ordering the incredible tacos Llorarás. The service has always been exceptional whenever I have gone. Their staff is friendly and efficient. Place your order at the counter and pay up front (there is a jar for tips), and they bring your food to your table. Their drinks range from bottled soda (no soda fountain) to aguas frescas: Jamaica or a refreshing limonada with cucumber. The dining room has half booths (padded bench along one wall, chairs on the other side of the table, or standard tables and chairs. This makes it easy to accommodate wheelchairs if needed. Prices are a bit higher than a burger fast food place, but less than a chain sit-down restaurant. For the food quality you get it's a great price. They have plenty of parking, and restrooms (his and hers) are clean and well maintained. My only complaint is I wish they could extend their hours and offer dinner as well!
