Customer service was great! There are friendly staff that take your order and call you when your order is ready. There are plenty of tables indoors surrounded by beautiful artwork on the walls, tables, and chairs. We decided to stop here for breakfast after checking out the Saturday farmer's market. Their menu has photos of the item as well which is helpful when ordering your food. We shared the chilaquiles with green sauce, that had a nice kick to it and came with three eggs. After having breakfast in the area with my daughter, we decided to pick up lunch for my husband at El Taco Llama. He's very particular about how he likes his burritos. Without looking through the menu I explained to the girl at the register what I was looking for. She easily understood and put in an order for a carne asada Burrito Mojado with no salsa or guacamole. I then added their Tostada Salad with carnitas to try. After paying, they offered small cups for salsa and bags for jalapeños. It was prepared quickly and packed well. Everything was still warm when we got home. The tostada shell stayed crisp. My husband loved the burrito. He said it was filled generously and the carne asada was flavorful. He especially enjoyed the warm red sauce that covered it all. The tostada was overall ok. Unfortunately I didn't care much for the carnitas. I found it bland and dry, like day old meat. Service was great. Prices are really good in comparison to similar places. There are many free parking options nearby. According to my husband we're definitely going back for the burrito. read more

They've catered 2 events for me and have been flawless each time. Good communication and punctual...big plus. Each time, the event was for approx 120 people and the flow and speed of their service was smooth and very reasonable, all while being courteous and attentive. Went there after months if not a few years of asking my wife to go, so went myself. Had fish tacos. They were tasty and that hot sauce is HOT but very good. Satisfying meal, service was fast and courteous. Horchata complimented the hot sauce! Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was the fish portions. There was enough in the tacos but they were thin pieces of fish, with breading. Needs to be bigger pieces of fish. I suspect it's tilapia, which is notoriously thin. This is the BEST Mexican restaurant in Newhall hands down! I always get an Al pastor burrito and it never disappoints when I want a lil more food I order the burrito/taco combo and mix it up with an asada taco. Parking can be tough if you want to park in the lot however there is a parking structure nearby. The food is pretty good, I like the carne asada burritos and tacos and whenever I'm in the area I often stop by. They have some good salsa, the heat can vary visit to visit but it has nice flavor and spice. The interior is nice, plenty of tables and chairs. When tacos hit you, it hits you with flavor that is! El taco llama means "name the taco" in Spanish. The tacos I ordered from which they are known for is called tacos al pastor. Not a big fan of it but, I wanted to see how good they were. They were decent and sure delivered a lot of spice and flavor. They use pig fat to render the meat for better taste. So there goes my 1 hour cardio! The other dishes they offer can range from burritos to steak frites etc. enchiladas, tripe, gorditas, Fortas, sope, Chile relleno, Tortas, asada tacos/burritos and hamburger/shrimp ceviche. Service was fast, the food came in in about 1-2 minutes right out of the fryer! Bathrooms require a paid purchase as well. Inside it is vibrant and bright at night. There are very comfortable seats as a plus, the decoration is all representative of sombreros and Mexican culture. The tables, floors and chairs are all clean. The tables even have a decoration that is quite nice as well. It wasn't crowded and The place has been open for 30 years. Way to go! Parking outside is simple, a small lot to park and side streets available for free. Other tiny shops and restaurants nearby. It's been a while where I've had a taco where the shell wasn't dry and the meat was juicy. The tacos were moiiiiiiist. Yep, I said it and juicy, but the sauce it the al pastor was slightly gritty, like when dairy curdles, something in it was off, but it held the flavor well. The burrito was something else. I was a little sad that it only had the meat and rice, minus the beans. I was hoping it would have raw onions and cilantro, but it was quite plain. I would have enjoyed it more but the rice was slightly underdone so the burrito was also gritty. I would probably stick with the tacos for now. And the hot sauce? It's so dang good. The food was not lacking in flavor but everything kinda tasted a little too similar. Plus they're all served in these clunky half sheet metal trays. We ordered $90 worth of food for 4 people which was a lot of money. It never was delivered and the restaurant blamed it on Grubhub saying there was nothing they could do and I would need to contact Grubhub Customer Service to get my money back. My issue is that now I am responsible for fixing a problem between Taco Llama and their contractor who delivers the food. After calling the restaurant and letting them know that I have been a long time customer they said it was my problem and I should call Grubhub Customer Service. I originally lived near El Monte and I've consumed my fair share of authentic tacos so I definitely had high expectations. I ordered 4 tacos - two tripa (extra crispy), one carne asada and one lengua. This plus a regular horchata came out to $12! Tacos were roughly $1.50-$2.50 each depending on the meat. Tripa was the most expensive. The tacos were so amazing! The tripa was deliciously crispy, lengua was soft and carne asada was flavorful. This also came with a few tortilla chips on top. Their meat serving is also very generous! Steak and fries were good. The cheese is melted in the center and under the fries so you may miss it at first. The crinkle cut fries seemed off but they were honestly a nice change from the usual. Crispy and complemented the carne asada well. I didn't get the chilaquiles but I heard they were mediocre from my coworkers who ordered it. I would definitely return!! read more

Ordered the steak (asada) fries, cheese quesadilla, two tacos al pastor, one taco suadero and a large Horchata. The al pastor tacos were some of the worst I've had - there was no flavor to them. The steak fries were literally just steak with fries. No cilantro, onions or limes. Nothing to help liven them up other than red and green salsa.
