El taco llama is one of the best Mexican style food places I've ever been to! Amazing customer service and has so much to choose from! It's just amazing to eat here and I just wish they just lessened the prices a bit but it does pay the price by how amazing the food is! If you ever go here get the gorrita, it is the best! read more

No onions means no onions. I am very disappointe. The staff have turned away a long time customer by not making it the way it was requested. read more

Horrendous sanitation conditions from the tall buff COOK in the kitchen. I been there a couple of times with family, the food was good and pricing was decent but the sanitation and cleanliness was horrendous. While eating there the cook decided to help the cashier in getting her the caution wet sign that was visibly dirty with blue gloves that were worn for so long you can see his skin through them. After the cook touched the dirty doors and the dirty sign and put it down for her, he went back in the kitchen, you would think he would throw his gloves out and wash his hands and put on new gloves, BUT NOPE he went back to work touching food. WE will never go back there again, not only was that nasty I don't understand how people of service do not think about their customers safety. These are examples of how people get really sick and for others die. read more

Great spot on Main Street. I'm always happy with the burritos because they're so big and satisfying. The tacos are also very good although larger than a traditional street taco. They make everything to order so it does take some time to get your food, but at least you know it's freshly made. The parking is limited, but usually you can find additional parking on the street. read more

El Taco Llama is honestly one of my favorite taco spots -- it's real comfort food, the kind you crave on a long day. The fact that it's a family-owned place makes it feel even more special, because you can taste the love and tradition in their recipes. Everything always comes out fresh, flavorful, and consistent, and the portions are perfect. And their horchata? So good -- super smooth, perfectly sweet, and always hits the spot every single time. It's one of those local gems where you feel taken care of the moment you walk in. The ambience is super cozy and unique, especially with the hand-carved and beautifully painted tables that give the whole place a warm, authentic, family-owned feel. read more

Terrible service. Was a longtime customer but no longer. They didn't even make it correctly.

The food is one of the cheapest in the area, the quesadilla is really good, the burritos are alright. The service is fast and the ambiance is cozy in downtown newhall. If you are in a quick pinch to get Mexican food and are around the area. I highly recommend. read more

I took a ride into New hall today to look around William S Hart Park and on the way home I stopped at El taco llama for lunch. The staff is so friendly and the food is so good and I guess that's why it's mostly crowded all the time. I ordered a chile Riano à la cart and added avocado. OMG! This is my favorite jewelry I have ever had and I certainly recommend it to anybody who likes Chile Rellenos. read more

Customer service was great! There are friendly staff that take your order and call you when your order is ready. There are plenty of tables indoors surrounded by beautiful artwork on the walls, tables, and chairs. We decided to stop here for breakfast after checking out the Saturday farmer's market. Their menu has photos of the item as well which is helpful when ordering your food. We shared the chilaquiles with green sauce, that had a nice kick to it and came with three eggs. We also tried the shrimp plate that came with tortillas on the side. Both meals were very tasty. read more

After having breakfast in the area with my daughter, we decided to pick up lunch for my husband at El Taco Llama. He's very particular about how he likes his burritos. Without looking through the menu I explained to the girl at the register what I was looking for. She easily understood and put in an order for a carne asada Burrito Mojado with no salsa or guacamole. I then added their Tostada Salad with carnitas to try. After paying, they offered small cups for salsa and bags for jalapeños. It was prepared quickly and packed well. Everything was still warm when we got home. The tostada shell stayed crisp. My husband loved the burrito. He said it was filled generously and the carne asada was flavorful. He especially enjoyed the warm red sauce that covered it all. The tostada was overall ok. Unfortunately I didn't care much for the carnitas. I found it bland and dry, like day old meat. Service was great. Prices are really good in comparison to similar places. There are many free parking options nearby. According to my husband we're definitely going back for the burrito. read more

They've catered 2 events for me and have been flawless each time. Good communication and punctual...big plus. Each time, the event was for approx 120 people and the flow and speed of their service was smooth and very reasonable, all while being courteous and attentive. All of their meats received compliments. The variety of choices they offered our guests was great, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and tortas. They provided all of the paper goods and the salsa bar was kept clean and stocked. Thank you! read more

The food was delicious. My family and I ordered a sopa de carne and a huevos con asada plate. The order got mixed up and there were a lack of condiments outside but they quickly fixed it and were very kind about it. They provided everything needed and their salsas were delicious. The space is beautiful and the decoration is lovely in the restaurant. Would definitely come back again. read more

One of me and my boyfriend's all-time favorites ever! We come here almost every week, sometimes more. I love the authentic food and the hand painted murals. It's such a cozy vibe. The guy who helps us is always very sweet and the ladies in the kitchen are fantastic cooks as well 10 out of 10! read more

Went there after months if not a few years of asking my wife to go, so went myself. Had fish tacos. They were tasty and that hot sauce is HOT but very good. Satisfying meal, service was fast and courteous. Horchata complimented the hot sauce! Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was the fish portions. There was enough in the tacos but they were thin pieces of fish, with breading. Needs to be bigger pieces of fish. I suspect it's tilapia, which is notoriously thin. I understand the economics of it but still. read more

I thought this place was very solid and definitely the best bang for your buck. I got 3 tacos and it was only $7, when usually this is at least $10-$12. I got the asada and carnitas tacos and they both were very tasty and were quality meat. The chicken was okay, I didn't love that they were fajita style with peppers and onions but the flavor was still good. Definitely somewhere that I will put into my taco rotation in SCV! read more

This is the best value in town for a filling and delicious meal. The Huevos con chorizo are incredible, and delicious homemade tortillas.

The only reason this place is getting two stars instead of one is because the customer service was actually great--friendly, attentive, and polite. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The food was absolutely disgusting. Completely flavorless, poorly prepared, and honestly hard to even finish. It felt like zero care went into the cooking, and it was a major letdown. If you're looking for a place with good hospitality, you'll find it here--but if you're here for the food, prepare to be disappointed. read more

Best place to get authentic tacos in SCV. Service is always fast, food is always delicious.

Had their carne asada tacos. Delicious! The service was fantastic and all of the staff was very polite. My son tried their red enchilada plate. He loved it. He said the sauce was the most interesting he has had. I love their vibrant tables and chairs. Can't wait to go back! read more

Definitely reccomend this place! We happened to stop in and very happy we did! My husband ordered the carne asada crispy tacos, and I had the chilequiles with green sauce. Both were so good! Good amount of sauce on the chilequiles, eggs were perfect. Shells were fresh and crisp, meat was tender and flavorful. The jaimaica was great, not too watered down like some places. And the staff was great! Nice little place with a great menu! read more

This is the BEST Mexican restaurant in Newhall hands down! I always get an Al pastor burrito and it never disappoints when I want a lil more food I order the burrito/taco combo and mix it up with an asada taco. I normally DoorDash for my lunch at work but if you stop by the location they are quick to make your food and they have a big space for enjoying your meal inside. An added plus is the cute shops around it. read more

Parking can be tough if you want to park in the lot however there is a parking structure nearby. The food is pretty good, I like the carne asada burritos and tacos and whenever I'm in the area I often stop by. When tacos hit you, it hits you with flavor that is! El taco llama means "name the taco" in Spanish. The tacos I ordered from which they are known for is called tacos al pastor. Not a big fan of it but, I wanted to see how good they were. They were decent and sure delivered a lot of spice and flavor. They use pig fat to render the meat for better taste. So there goes my 1 hour cardio! The other dishes they offer can range from burritos to steak frites etc. enchiladas, tripe, gorditas, Fortas, sope, Chile relleno, Tortas, asada tacos/burritos and hamburger/shrimp ceviche. Service was fast, the food came in in about 1-2 minutes right out of the fryer! Bathrooms require a paid purchase as well. Inside it is vibrant and bright at night. There are very comfortable seats as a plus, the decoration is all representative of sombreros and Mexican culture. The tables, floors and chairs are all clean. The tables even have a decoration that is quite nice as well. It wasn't crowded and The place has been open for 30 years. Way to go! Parking outside is simple, a small lot to park and side streets available for free. Other tiny shops and restaurants nearby. Prices range from $8-12 for all items and there is a salsa bar for added spice. Overall expect a good experience! read more

I ordered the al pastor taco and al pastor burrito today and let's just say, the tacos hit the spot amongst some of my favorite places that aren't doing so hot since covid hit. It's been a while where I've had a taco where the shell wasn't dry and the meat was juicy. The tacos were moiiiiiiist. Yep, I said it and juicy, but the sauce it the al pastor was slightly gritty, like when dairy curdles, something in it was off, but it held the flavor well. The burrito was something else. I was a little sad that it only had the meat and rice, minus the beans. I was hoping it would have raw onions and cilantro, but it was quite plain. I would have enjoyed it more but the rice was slightly underdone so the burrito was also gritty. I would probably stick with the tacos for now. And the hot sauce? It's so dang good. One of the best I've tried. read more

Worst carnitas ever you won't even be able to swallow they're so dry. Just have 911 on speed dial if you plan to try it. Took one bite and threw the rest out. Very disappointing I even have to give one star read more

The food is just ok. Food is bland. Chile Verde - sauce has good spice but the meat is not tender at all. They didn't pack this right and a little tip of the bag all the sauce just spilled all over. Carne Burrito - it's a big burrito. Food flavor is good. Steak and fries - it was literally fries, meat, and cheese. There's nothing yummy about it. Ordered and paid for extra sour cream - they did not put it in the bag. read more

This place felt so authentic as soon as you walk in. The furniture and music we on point. Friendly staff and fast service. The food was not lacking in flavor but everything kinda tasted a little too similar. Plus they're all served in these clunky half sheet metal trays. It kind of made it feel like you're being served at a prison. There was a real good ratio of fries to steak. Not much to say he chilaquiles. Bland at best and it's the same sauce that is used for the Burrito. The rest of the food just tasted the same no matter what you'd combine it with. read more

We stopped on a whim at 830pm as we are on our way to Sac from out of town. I was craving good burrito. Ended up ordering a CA burrito, but the people in the restaurant were eating what looked like a bombbbb shrimp caldo. My burrito was so amazing that I had to find their yelp, sooo authentic 10/10!!!! I grew up in Los Angeles and Mexican food is one of my favorites. I can honestly say that this place cooks authentic Mexican food and is so delicious. I did not expect a taco joint this great out in Newhall, but I was so impressed! I originally lived near El Monte and I've consumed my fair share of authentic tacos so I definitely had high expectations. I ordered 4 tacos - two tripa (extra crispy), one carne asada and one lengua. This plus a regular horchata came out to $12! Tacos were roughly $1.50-$2.50 each depending on the meat. Tripa was the most expensive. The tacos were so amazing! The tripa was deliciously crispy, lengua was soft and carne asada was flavorful. This also came with a few tortilla chips on top. Their meat serving is also very generous! Steak and fries were good. The cheese is melted in the center and under the fries so you may miss it at first. The crinkle cut fries seemed off but they were honestly a nice change from the usual. Crispy and complemented the carne asada well. I didn't get the chilaquiles but I heard they were mediocre from my coworkers who ordered it. I would definitely return!! read more

Very dissatisfied with food quality! I order 3 tacos de asada with everything but the onion was rotten it had a very awful smell.
