VEGAN. 100% I'm Back!!!!! I was feeling a little down today. Why I don't know. Probably just menopause hormones. Nothing like some good meatball soup to balance out your hormones ‍ The young lady who is the waitress here is so sweet. She always recommend something. She remembered me when I came with my sister. I tried something different today. I got the jackfruit tacos and soup. Don't judge soup went home. Very good There is soft music playing. The older gentleman that sits at the first table when you walk in the door. seems to be a little, not too friendly when I come in. He is always watching TV. It is on a Spanish speaking station. He did turn the volume down once I came in which he didn't have to do. I will always say Hello and Goodbye. Until next time La Charritta

Super cute mexican eatery that features a full on vegan page in their menu!! So happy !! I started with an agua fresca made fresh in house. It was fresh and delightful- I saved half for my dessert, very sweet. I ordered the vegan verde with jackfruit. It was really good but way too big! I took almost half home and ate it for lunch the next day (still delicious BTW). It did taste super salty to the point I think maybe there was a mishap especially because my companion's meal was not salty so the contrast was significant. My companion ordered sopes and that plate was good! Service was prompt and courteous. If I lived here I would likely be a regular:) So grateful for proprietors who consider plant based offerings!

You don't find places like this often. It really did feel like authentic Mexican food! Overall, From the vibes (calm, relaxing, the music), how you're greeted and feel welcomed, to the food. The food feels light and fresh! And that guacamole was top notch! Will definitely be returning! We got the sopes and camarones con carne! **Maybe a little more salt and taste to the beans is all!

Loaded Vegan Breakfast Burrito

AMAZING flavors and an EXCELLENT menu with so many options! This food instantly transported me back to abuelita's kitchen--extra special yet beautifully simple, traditional, and genuine. I love the boss woman running the front with perfect service and attention to every detail, and then from the kitchen emerges an angel with the most mouthwatering, authentic food you can imagine at a perfectly hot temperature. The service here is warm, attentive, and flawless. Their super vegan specialty menu blew me away--extensive, creative, and full of choices (which is rare and SO appreciated!). My husband had the loaded breakfast burrito packed with tater tots and bursting with homemade flavor, while I enjoyed the Enchiladas Suizas with the most incredible green enchilada sauce. Both plates were absolutely delicious, hearty, and so satisfying. The portions are generous, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Bonus points: the bathroom was immaculate. All around, it's a 10/10 experience. We can't wait to come back and try EVERYTHING on the menu! Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Mexican food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere!!

Pollo en Mole Plate

This place was a definitely a pleasant surprise! I'm never really fond of going to Mexican Restaurants as most can taste to Americanized. But this place captured the flavors perfectly! The restaurant is not too big. We had a big group and walked in and they were able to seat us right away during lunch time on a Saturday. Firstly, they have a good menu with plenty of choices. They even had a full vegan menu. I ended up choosing the Pollo en Mole Plate. The rice and beans were one of the best beans and rice I've had in a really long time. The mole's flavor had so much personality. The chicken was good, but my personal preference is too have it off the bone so if you are like me that is your heads up. The size of the plate is good for one. My friends did split a burrito so if you are looking to share I'd go for a burrito. Their guava drink was a also pretty good. The salsa was spicy and bomb! The service was good. To get the food it did take a little bit, but it was worth the wait. All my friends loved their plates too, so I don't think you can go wrong with anything here.

Omg the vegan meatball soup was so yummy! Full of fresh veggies and vegan meatball soup. The lemon is the perfect add on to bring all the flavor of the soup together . We been coming here for over two years and I have to say it's the little gem of Valencia! If you haven't been it's a must !

Very cute restaurant. Parking is a little small but you can find parking. The staff is very nice. Food was good. A lot of options. I had chicken sopes. Very tasty. They have a lot of vegan options which was awesome since we went with friends who are vegan.

I'm not vegan but I enjoy eating delicious vegan food with my vegan bestie and this place really hit the spot! The environment is very cozy and traditional, the service was great, and the food was absolutely OUTSTANDING!! Ordered the vegan sopes and the taco plate, both with adobo protein and I kid you not it was probably the best adobo I've tasted. All the flavors come together so well and make you wanting more. I envy Santa Clarita for having this gem in their city. Hoping they can open one in the OC area.

We have eaten take out from La Charrita and eaten inside the restaurant, and our experience was lovely both times. The food is very flavorful and the portions are very big. We've had the burrito, flautas, enchiladas, and pozole. The pozole was my absolute favorite, it was so incredibly delicious and I honestly will be ordering every time we return while it's cooler outside. The staff was helpful and food arrived quick. The restaurant is a standard place with plenty of seating. We will definitely be returning and this is top of our list for Hispanic food in the SCV area!

Before entering the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the sign boasts that the restaurant is vegan friendly which made me excited to see what vegan items they have available. Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by employee Maria who was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. I loved that the menu as well as employee shirts promotes that the restaurant is vegan friendly. After finding a table to sit at, I appreciated that each table had a bottle of hand sanitizer for customers to use while dining in. While looking at the restaurant menu, I noticed that there was a variety of vegan dishes available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Maria was very helpful in making sure hubby didn't eat any food with nuts and informed us know that the vegan cheese they use is follow your heart brand which is nut free. I was happy to see that there are three pages dedicated to vegan food options and after having time to review the menu, I ordered vegan nachos topped with mushroom asada "meat" and hubby ordered wet "California style" burrito with french fries inside and soy curls as the meat. While waiting for our food, we enjoyed a glass of Jamaica water and an appetizer of tortilla chips with freshly made guacamole. The Jamaica water was pleasant to look at and had an interesting combination of sweet yet slightly bitter taste. It was quite an fascinating drink. The freshly made guacamole was cool, refreshing, and some of the best guacamole I've ever had. I liked that when it comes to vegan meat options, there are five choices: jackfruit, soy curls, cactus, mushrooms, and organic soy with cauliflower. Our food quickly arrived and was hot, perfectly cooked, and delicious.I was impressed by the presentation of my nachos as well as the use of freshly made tortilla chips and the combination of flavors with the beans, mushroom asada, onions, guacamole and sauce. Hubby said his burrito was great. In addition, hubby said that adding fries provided the burrito with next level flavor. We liked the food so much, we brought family members that passing through the area to the restaurant and our nephew enjoyed an order of vegan tacos topped with the mushroom asada "meat" In closing, La Charrita is a hidden vegan gem you must visit if in the Santa Clarita area and hubby says take the time to order the guacamole, your mouth will definitely thank you for it.

But we were also very pleasantly surprised by the service, which i remembered it to be ... not memorable. When service in so many sectors have gone the way of the flip phone, Faith is a breath of fresh air, or 5G to continue the cell phone metaphor. She smiles genuinely and seems to really enjoy helping her customers. The wife ordered the Grilled Corn Elote and Faith expertly carved it a the table for us. I was expecting a lot of corn to be left on the cob; good for me because I hoped to nibble on the detritus. But it quickly became apparent that this wasn't Faith's first rodeo. To my wife's pleasure, while crushing my hope, the cob came out whistle clean from Faith's expert hand. I also appreciate it when service is pre-emptive and anticipatory, not reactionary. Ordering a coke, then having to hunt down the server begging for a refill has become the status quo for most restaurant experiences. But Faith's attention is refreshingly anticipatory, asking if I needed a refill well before the straw's guttural wail when more air than liquid passes. Good food tastes better with good service. Solita is great food with great service (especially if you're lucky enough to have Faith help you). Try it out again if you've been away awhile like us.

Once we arrived, we were quickly seated on the patio because it was freezing in the restaurant. The place was nice and clean and I really liked the setup and vibe of the place. The issues came when our waiter came and brought our drinks and asked if we needed more time to look at the menu. We did but once we were finally ready, our waiter was nowhere to be found. We waited a little longer and looked around and still couldn't find him. So we asked another waitress if she could find our waiter and she said she would just take it. She was extremely nice and very cool, so after taking our order she comes back a few minutes later and lets us know that she will be our waitress moving forward. I'm not sure what that was about but I'm not tripping! Anyway, I order the Fried Tacos Del Toro and an Arnold Palmer. The Arnold Palmer was amazing but I was not a fan of the Tacos Del Toro. I didn't like the taste of the fried tortilla. It was like an empanada and I really liked the meat cheese in the inside but the flavor of the tortilla was not good to me. I also thought the Spanish rice and beans were average. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing and I am willing to try something else like the street tacos or even the quesadillas with chorizo. Overall, it was just ok and I have to figure out why it received great reviews, so I will be trying it again. OOOC 3.5 out of 5 Afros

They are a bit out of our way, and while good, nothing there was so spectacular that I would make a special trip for it, but it was good. They are located in a strip mall location, very non-descript, and the build out is basic but clean. My daughter had described it as a "hole in the wall, but good food" restaurant. That's pretty accurate. We were greeted immediately and in a very friendly manner as soon as we entered. It seemed slow for a Friday night, but we were on the early side. We were seated at a table and brought water, chips and salsa right away. The salsa is thin and spicy, and had a good tasted to it. My wife ordered a Cadillac margarita, and I ordered a regular. The drinks were a generous pour, and they didn't scrimp on the tequila. The Grand Marnier was brought in a shot glass. Both my wife and I enjoyed our drinks. My chile relleno combo was very good, some of the biggest freakin' chiles I've seen. They tasted great and were served piping hot with rice and beans. We were visited several times by ownership. The service was top rate and very friendly. So...not enough for me to return, but that's only because of distance from our house. We have our usual place 3 minutes away, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a first choice for you.
