The pazole was very traditional and very well done, with lots of pork shoulder and hominy. it was very filling and it was obviously made that same day. Food was delicious and our server was very attentive. There was little to no ambiance, but it was clean and comfortable. Most customers were doing takeout. I had a bit of trouble understanding the menu and used price as my guide as to how much to order. I ordered way too much. You might miss this place. From the outside it does not look very appealing. Located across the street from the train tracks. Very busy street and the parking is not the best. Seating inside is ample. It gives the Mexican restaurant vibe the minute you walk in. Their wall is lined with refrigerators full of beers and sodas. The day we visited it was full. They had the FIFA World Cup on their two screens. There were many people that are obviously regulars picking up orders. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good. Well seasoned. My buddy at the VA told me about this place nearly a year ago. Well it finally happened today. Nice ranchera music, friendly patrons. The menu was colorful. Several orders came out and they were eye-catching! My shrimp cocktail had ample delicious shrimp. Here's the deal, many places do not clean the shrimp. Neca does so a loud is appropriate!! Delicious, hearty and enough avocado, the salsa is really good so I spooned a few rounds into the the cocktail. Oh yeah,,, Paired with the micheladas and we made a fast getaway home to inspect the backs of our eyelids. Nelson, thanks for the warm welcome. I propose that my punishment be that I eat at 3 more hole in the wall places by the end of the month and that I recommit myself to reviewing every local eatery no matter how miniscule or diminutive. Disappointed. The pictures listed are nothing like the real thing. This place needs to be cleaned & organized there's random stuff everywhere. I didn't notice at first. I knew what I wanted as soon as I walked in. I sat there playing on my phone, not paying attention to anything. I didn't get my drink till after I got my food. When I did, The tortilla warmer was so dirty. Now I'm worried crossing my fingers hoping I don't get sick. If the rest of the place is DIRTY what can I expect from the kitchen. I almost walked out, when I started noticing how dirty it was, then my food came. I wasn't brave enough to tell them how bad everything was when they asked me. Not very fancy and limited seating but very good food and EXCELLENT Service. Their Vegetable burrito is the best and I would give it 5 stars. I highly recommend it! Their Seafood is also very good.
