Stopped by here for brunch with my 2 travel companions before we headed out to Monte Alban for the afternoon. Our server was a very friendly gentleman, who was more than eager to help us out by offering suggestions, and explaining menu items to us, which was a pretty funny sight to behold as he spoke very little English and our collective Spanish is hilariously poor. Nevertheless, we managed to place our orders and soak in the beauty of the main dining room: high lofted ceilings, with colorful textiles, a mini garden, and bird cages flanking the entrance to this restaurant.
I ordered their huevos rancheros, which were different from the stuff I'm used to in the U.S. I'm not sure if this place put their own flair on the dish or if it's more of a Mexican and/or Oaxacan thing, but my eggs did not come with beans. I also got an avena drink, which I found out is like a thick porridge drink, similar to Korean yulmucha in texture. My friends got different egg dishes, and they both said that their respective dishes were fine. As for my own meal, the eggs were fine, as was the avena, but what really made our time here so pleasant was the friendly service as well as the ambiance of the restaurant itself. Would recommend to other tourists who would like to dine out in a comfortable and brightly lit environment. read more
