This place was not good before but after seeing new ownership we decided to give it a try tonight . It was terrible ! The meat in fajitas and quesadilla had no seasoning on it , very bland tasting . The tortillas for fajitas were dry and hard. The shrimp in my quesadilla smelled bad. I had to ask for it to be taken off of our ticket . At checkout the owners were there and never said sorry or asked what they could do to improve. Stopped here on Fri. night when visiting family. Nobody came by our table for 20 mins and we stopped a server walking by and asked for our server. Another 10 minutes and no server, we stopped the same girl and said nobody had been by yet, and she said "well I don't know what you want me to say I told your server." I realize a lot of businesses are short staffed, but there were a ton of servers running around. If anyone had even said, "can I get you a drink I'll be back with you shortly" I would've stayed. I dined at this location yesterday and they served my daughter RAW chicken. I showed the waitress she took the plate to the kitchen to show the manager she came back and said that her manager said there wasn't anything she could do. At least the manger could've came to our table and apologize but the waitress said she was to busy smh. Never eating there again.. read more

Worst service ever tonight! Our waiter wouldn't even come check on us even after being called over. We didn't get our food until an hour and half later. If you know you're short staffed call people in or tell the customers. I am not happy at all. read more

The service is great at this El Sombrero. We have 3 Mexican restaurants in town and this one, by far, is the best. The waitstaff is always very nice. I've never had a bad meal, but my favorite is the Burrito Grande. Chicken, steak, shrimp with bell peppers and onions in a flour tortilla with white cheese sauce and green salsa. Good Mexican restaurant located off 129 in a small mall behind Zaxbys Very clean, nice decor and looks like a favorite of the locals. Our chips were fresh, hot, and crisp and the salsa was good (spicy ). Our dishes were good size and delicious and we would stop again. read more

We used to enjoy this restaurant. We ate in-house once a week & called in/picked up orders 2-3 times a month for a couple of years (6 to 7 times a month ordering 3-4 meals each time). We've been disappointed the last 4 consecutive times & probably won't be back. The service was very slow both times we ate in-house, but they weren't busy. The cheese dip & salsa were really the only things we liked. We ordered the Fajitas for two & specified no pork or beef or steak. They should have included vegetables, chicken, shrimp & scallops. Both times the scallops were not cooked with the order & we had to request them after we received our food. The 2nd time this happened the lady manager on duty actually came to our table & picked through our Fajitas to check for the scallops because ??? we didn't know. She also got angry & frustrated when we wouldn't let her take the fajitas back to the kitchen to correct. We explained that we never send food back to the kitchen & she could bring us the cooked scallops or deduct a portion for the fajitas especially since they already saved money on the dish as we didn't get the pork or steak. We've all heard horror stories or watched a few movies about what "can" happen if you send back your food. I'm not saying that is what would happen here. I'm stating a fact that no matter where we eat; we don't send back an order to be corrected. The other 2 were to-go orders. My husband quit calling in the order because half was hot & the other half cold. All tacos were very soggy. Also, they we're adamant about giving us 2 containers less than 2 inch wide with the salsa. This is ludicrous when you receive a bowl to eat in-house & especially because we ordered 3-4 to-go meals on each occasion. Because of this, we probably won't be back unless we hear good things about this place again. It's especially disappointing because there are only a few restaurants in Gray, GA. read more

I eat here about once a week. Food is very good and I always ask for Lizet to be our server. She is fantastic. Chips and salsa are great too. They moved to a new location a couple of months ago and it's easy to find. read more

El Som is a nice little Mexican place that has the typical, no surprises but tasteful American version of Mexican food. Prices are typical and the atmosphere is friendly. Service is attentive and this is a very nice casual place for families and friends. read more

This is THE BEST Mexican Food in Gray! My husband and I are in town every other week and make it a special date to eat here for lunch. He typically gets the tacos, the grilled chicken and steak are both delicious, you can't go wrong with either one. I can't remember the name of what I usually get but it's like a fried burrito with beef tips and veggies inside. It's so delicious and the price is excellent! We have been here at least 15 times and the service here has always been superb. I highly recommend! read more

Service wasn't that great for it to be as slow as it was. Food very bland, chips stale and greasy, cheese dip runny, the salsa didn't even have any flavor. Taco shell was sogie, rice had no flavor. Definately had better mexican food. Price was reasonable. The restaurant was clean, but very cold. The cashier seemed more interested in talking to the hostess than checking out the customer. Been going to this restaurant at least 4 times a months for awhile ....tonight I go and order a double well whiskey and coke .....first off it was weak in take 3 sips and my mom says what's that in your drink ... So I scoop out what I expect to be ill to nothing ...it was an ant so I look closer and there is another in my drink....so I have one ant on my napkin the other in the drink.... Show the waiter he take s back my half drinken drink if that to the kitchen .... Comes back and says the manager will take the drink off ... Ok .... Not mad yet but then I get my ticket it is still on there ....so I'm like hey the 10$ drink I didn't even get to drink is on here he says she will take care of it up at the cashier desk .... I'm like ok..... So I get up there and she refuses to take it off... I try to calmly explain she tells me to stop right there that she personally cleaned the coke machines that her restraraunt does not have ants.....so I get louder where ppl can hear and she takes the drink off and tells me that she will never serve me an alcoholic drink again........and she won't cause I will never go back to this trashy place again and I recommend you dont read more
