The help!
If the neighboring bakery, Dos Escudos is too young and modern for you, go here to Socorro. This is like an older, more traditional version of the restaurant next door.
The interior is wood paneling, and paintings of ships. This is a quiet place to come and read the paper, and drink coffee and eat alfajors for hours. If you just like hanging out and watching the world waltz by, this is your place. The food is even tamer than the Panera Bread-like place next door. They do their own baked goods here, but they're nowhere as appetizing as Dos Escudos next door. The waitstaff takes their own sweet, sweet time. Need some coffee on the double? They don't have the hustle like some of these restaurants around here.
My favorite thing about this place is the decor. read more
