Above average tavern fare, great Matlacha feel and the spreader out back where you can sit back, relax and watch the boats go by. Literal paradise. Our go-to's are the Ahi Tuna Nachos with copious amounts of tuna, seaweed salad, wasabi mayo and sriracha. Steamers come with what I consider the best broth I've ever had and the Calamari w/ home made marinara. Servers are quick, friendly and efficient. Live bands every night and Happy Hour everyday from 11 - 7. On season, the parking and seating become hard to come by. Oh and the outdoor area is dog friendly.

They do have live music on certain nights which is a plus. The staff was friendly, attentive and cheerful however the food leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the macadamias coconut crusted mahi and it lacked flavor even with the banana rum sauce.. The broccoli that came with my meal was bland but on the upside the sweet potato fries were great. My husband had the mussels which he said were 'ok'. I believe than on another night where theres music playing and people vibing you may enjoy coming here; however do not expect on having a great meal but just typical bar food to absorb the alcohol if you are drinking.

You enter at the front door, they have a small bar and what looks like restaurant seating. Very nice waitress told me that they expect to have the bar side open in a couple of weeks. Food was good, prices were fair, waitress was nice! They were having bingo night, which is new to me, never been a bingo person... (Not once ever!) It was kind of weird but a little fun, it seemed like everybody knew everyone, older crowd joking around in the omelette, Shop restaurant bar place thing. have fun it'll be different

New bartenders/staff every week or two, nobody can stick around. Bartenders drinking on shift, trying to memorize orders instead of using the handheld POS system - what arrived at the table was not what we ordered. My husband's refire on his wrong meal took 20 minutes to arrive, and was cold, as well as fried to a black crisp; when he asked about it at the bar (because the bartenders weren't on the floor), he was told "I don't know what happened. I'm a bartender, not a food runner." I don't think we'll be back any time soon. I miss the great staff they used to have. This used to be a favourite neighbourhood hole in the wall.

We were visiting Captiva Island and decided to go to The Bubble Room for dessert. There's…read morerestaurant parking, which gets tight, but they do have an additional lot across the street. Note the hours - we came around 3pm and it was closed! They close between lunch and dinner and reopen at 4:30. There are a few other Bubble Room businesses on the block - an emporium (gift shop) an ice cream shop, so we were able to check these places out while we waited for the restaurant to open. They also have a few fun photo ops outside the restaurant, which gives you a good taste of what you'll find inside. In one word, I would describe The Bubble Room as kitschy. There's nothing extraordinary to see here that makes this place a "must visit" - no need to go out of your way. It's Christmas year-round here, which makes it whimsical. The staff were upbeat and engaging, and they were able to jazz up their uniforms to show their personality. When I visited the women's restroom, I thought it was chuckily that they had lots of male photos on the walls. I imagine the men's restroom returns the favor. The restaurant was filled with aromas of their freshly baked bubble bread and cinnamon rolls. Having just eaten lunch, we came here for dessert only, but the delicious smells made us wish we had room to eat another meal. The Bubble Room has a fun drink menu - many other diners were imbibing. They brought out a dessert tray showcasing the different cake slices and to give you an eye for size. As a chocolate lover, I was tempted to get a chocolate slice (and even the Tropical Breeze which was a yellow fruitcake type looked good), but my research on Yelp told me that the Buttercrunch cake is not to miss! Yelp did not steer me wrong ~ I enjoyed my Buttercrunch cake! If you like butterfingers, chocolate, ice cream, and an Oreo crust, this is the slice for you. The cake slices are huge - great for sharing, so no need to be selfish and order a whole slice for yourself (if you do, you'll probably have leftovers). While I enjoyed my slice, I feel like The Bubble Room relies on its kitsch and quantity rather than quality. I recommend taking the time to get out of your seat and exploring the different rooms to look at all of the decor. Knowing what the Bubble Room was all about, we took the liberty of walking around and looking at the different rooms, and there are several floors - but I wish staff encouraged us to do it. Maybe because we only came for dessert, we got an abridged experience. I'd call The Bubble Room a one-and-done tourist attraction that serves food, quirk, and cake.
