I ordered take out from here and it was not what I expected. I ordered a vegetable burrito which tasted good but it supposed to have beans and sour cream in it but it was missing the sour cream and I can literally count how many beans were in it. It was full of rice. The fries also tasted good but they came in broken bits as if they came from the bottom of the french fry bag. We also ordered a chicken platter that comes with 2 sides. I inadvertently ordered 2 sides of beans instead of rice and beans and they gave us 2 tiny sides of beans and Im sure if I had ordered rice, it would have came in that size too. This was a $15 meal and I couldn't believe how small the side orders were. I order from spanish restaurants all the time and they always give large sides of rice and beans. I give them 3 stars because the food did taste good but the quantity is more for a kid, not an adult. read more

White people clearly aren't welcome here. Been ordering from here for years. We usually use Door Dash because going into this place is very uncomfortable, to say the least. I always tip my drivers higher when I order from here because of the way this business conducts itself. I ended up picking up from them myself on Saturday night and I won't be returning or ordering from them again. I ordered over the phone and when I got there they had charged me for a meal that was $5 more than what I ordered. I didn't even say anything because I didn't want to wait around in that sketchy place for them to remake my meal (luckily, sorta, they gave me the right meal, but just charged me for a more expensive one). The music was blasting so loud the girls behind the counter probably wouldn't have been able to hear me (or understand me) anyway. I've been there before where the girl behind the counter was so drunk she could barely stand and couldn't understand that I was there to pick up an order. While I was waiting to get my change the obnoxiously drunk men that always seem to leech onto these places were loudly running their mouths about me in Spanish while sitting next to what I believe is either the owner or the manager. Don't worry El Rio, this "puta gringa" won't be back. read more

We were in the mood for Mexican food and what really intrigued me was that they had Thai food on the menu. I thought the Yelp pictures of Thai dishes were mistakes but they weren't. We ordered a classic margarita, shrimp mofongo, churrasco and chicken tacos. They brought out chips and salsa and this was good. The chips are thick and looked like cut tortillas...possibly homemade. The salsa is good and perfectly mild. The margarita is perfect according to my date, not too strong and not watered down. The mofongo is to die for and I would have finished this but it was a meal to share and not my main meal. The shrimps on this were a good size and the sauce is addicting. I would get this as a main meal next time. The churrasco is a strip that's seasoned well and satisfied my steak craving. I got rice and beans with this and liked them both a lot. The chicken tacos I was told were good and also came with rice and beans. So, I asked the waitress why they have Thai dishes on the menu and she got the owner and he said that his wife is Thai, so he learned to cook a lot of Thai dishes. He'll even make dishes even if they're not on the menu...just ask. He was very nice and hospitable. After all that food, the waitress brought out a Thai dessert with mini fried ice cream and fried bananas with whipped cream and chocolate and raspberry drizzle...on the house! The owner said that he also makes fried churros with condensed milk and maple syrup...next time I said. The prices of everything we ordered is very reasonable/cheap for the amount and quality of food. The owner mentioned that he's getting a new menu in a couple of weeks and I noticed that they also have weekday specials, lunch specials, early dinner specials, and happy hour specials. I will definitely be back for lunch and dinner. There's so much I want to try. read more

Absolutely horrible service!! I ordered a steak burrito and received only rice in the burrito wrap, no steak, corn, beans, jalapeño or anything. I called to complain and they refused to replace the order and blamed Uber!! They admitted the messed up the order and said to lie and put the blame on the Uber driver so I can get a refund. They refused delivery or any kind of compensation. All I wanted a what I ordered, paid for and paid delivery plus tip. Also they were saying bad things in Spanish on the phone and little did they know I am fluent in Spanish. I continued to speak English to see how much more they would say and think I didn't understand. Great food if you can get it but the worst experience ever read more

Delicious choice of food and drinks here. The menu is simple but refined enough not to complain. I enjoy many types of South American food but El Rio nails Rach and every staple you could think of. I recommend their empanadas they are to die for. Good job El Rio keep it up. read more

Haven't been to the restaurant for a sit down experience. I only had the tacos for lunch. I gotta say, they were incredible. I thought they were a bit pricey for tacos, but they are fairly large and taste fantastic with the complementary salsas. I got the el pastor tacos and even after a 30 min door dash delivery, they were still delicious. They come in traditional style corn tortillas which are very soft and very tasty. If you're looking for a simple taco that has a more traditional flavor, you have to try this place. Oh and if the prices are a bit to steep, Tuesday are taco Tuesday and for lunch you can get 3 tacos for $8. Totally worth it. read more

The fish burger was something I can most defineltly order again. I'm a vegetarian and I don't mind ordering out. I like how they cater to my eating habits by having a selection of comfort foods. I can only say I wasn't a huge fan of the vegetables quesadillas. It could be the combination of vegetables with cheese wrapped together but it wasnt horrible. went in to check it out because I love Latino food. Got the fajitas mixtas to go and enjoyed 2 ice cold modelos while waiting. My significant other had a banana shake and it was to die for! Nice Spanish music playing while we waited by a DJ. Got the food home and I wish I had more. Very good and the service was pleasant. Be patient because if you don't speak Spanish you may be frustrated but it's all worth it. read more
