Al pastor super burrito

A solid SF style super burrito, I usually get the Al pastor. The carne asada, buche, and cabeza are good as well. It's very flavorful, fresh, and the portions are hefty. Little expensive at about $15 for the super burrito, but that's just SF for you and the burrito is big and heavy enough that it feels like a good value. Chips included. My biggest gripe is that the restaurant is too dirty, beyond my standard of acceptable, there are often flies flying around inside and all the tables, floors, and counters are grimy. I always get my food to go, there's a nice park to eat in a couple blocks away, or else the burrito will hold for a drive home without issue. The salsa bar is good when it's open and out, which used to be always, but since COVID it is sporadic. I'd suggest this spot if you're local and it's convinient, if you're making a trek for a mission burrito there are better (and cleaner) restaurants. I'll still be back though, this is a conveniently placed taqueria for me and the food is solid!

Looked okay, tasted bad

I have to say this is the most disgusting burrito I've ever had in my entire life. Usually there's something redeemable about a burrito but this one was just horrible all around. The guacamole was runny and tasteless, the chile relleno pepper was hard, and in general it tasted like one of the ingredients had gone bad. Turns out it was the salsa. It has some kind of sweet flavor that tastes like it's turned. Unfortunately, I didn't discover this until I got home. I just threw it out. And I got charged 25¢ bag fee, which isn't that much, but I literally had a bag with me that I could've put the burrito in if she'd asked. What a waste of money. Don't go here.

This is hilarious! We know which side the drug war they're on!

Lately, over the last several years, I've had some pretty low quality nachos. Then I walked into El Rancho Grande Taqueria, ordered regular nachos, no meat, got a side of sour cream, and had the best nacho experience I've ever had!! Holy sh*t, they were awesome! Perfect chips, get some extra chips if needed, great beans, finely diced tomatoes in the salsa and I got to hear the darling staff singing Mexican songs in the background! Best nachos ever!!! I love this place, I love the staff and I can't recommend the nachos enough! YUM!!

Carne asada California Burrito (pls get this, so good)

I came here late last night after an event nearby. I can't lie, being from Southern California, I wasn't expecting much as I don't expect much from the Bay Area in terms of Mexican food at all. After reading some other reviews, I opted for a CARNE ASADA CALIFORNIA BURRITO and I was highly impressed. This burrito was absolutely delicious. Not greasy at all, the beef was quality. The tortilla was perfectly heated up on the sides and not soggy at all. The French fries inside weren't too drying and were good. Everything about this was delicious and their salsas were also great. It came with chips on the side as well. I highly recommend and would DEFINITELY go back not just for late night food, but if I'm ever looking for a good burrito!!!!

If you want a big, hearty breakfast burrito, El Rancho Grande is the place to go! They had a few different options of breakfast burrito, but I wanted something with hasbrowns, bacon, eggs, cheese, lettuce, guacamole, and beans. They didn't have a breakfast burrito similar enough to this, so I had to get add ons which made my burrito prestige pricey (20). Staff were nice and patient through this process and my burrito was really good!

Whatever you do, do NOT order the quesadilla here! It was so greasy and completely drenched in oil that we couldn't finish it. I also got a carne asada burrito, which was a lot better but still somewhat on the greasy side. I'm not sure it's worth ordering from this place again.

Was heading out to Brenda's on Divisadero. They were closed on a monday normally open . Remember passing this spot a block away. We've been back trying different items. The soups , tostadas, burritos and plates. It may replace not having to head to the mission for authentic flavors since our spot Caliente Kitchen closed

Two carne asada tacos and a mango Margarita. Comes with free chips and salsa

After drinking late, this place was open until 2 am and we all decided to get some tacos. Each taco is around $4.25, and the margarita $10. This place really hit the late night taco cravings, and I would come here again in the day as well. Interior is simple but it's just a nice hole in the wall taco place so you're not looking for ambiance here. Service was quick, and very friendly. Everyone liked their food. If you're looking for taco place on the cheaper end for SF pricing, I would say this is a solid choice.

Carne Asada Super Nachos

I'm not a picky eater. I never leave reviews. But the food this place serves is completely inedible and nauseating. I've tried the quesadilla (so much grease it soaked through hard plastic) and the nachos (picture below). The nachos had almost no cheese, and as you can see it looks like the food has been sitting out for days and should be fed to an animal. Seriously, even if you're drunk and this is the only place left open, you're better off going to a corner store and getting microwave ramen noodles.

Half of the carne asada quesadilla and the chilaquiles plate in the background.

Coming from out of town we found this little gem. The food is great, big portions amd friendly staff. The service was quick and ambiance was nice. Highly recommend this place.

Best burrito and quesadilla I've had in SF without needing to risk my life for! The meat and toppings are so flavorful.

A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!

Crunchy with shrimp and a creamy cabbage and the chicken redolent with lots of fresh cilantro, it was the first time I had a red taco. This will be my go-to always. My son had the crunchy red burrito ($15.75) with chorizo, crispy cheese, sour cream, pinto beans, guacamole and pico de gallo with a horchata to drink. On a Saturday night in the Castro, this corner of 16th and Market is already poppin' with area bars so while they'll rush out with your order curbside, my son dashed in for speed. Super friendly service, cute cafe tables for dine-in, Tacos El Tucan is now on the dining circuit. Love this spot and it's close by, too. Open very late on Saturday night 'til 2am if you're partying and craving drunchies.

I have tried a plethora Mexican food places as I enjoy it the most and this has by far let me down the most. Although it is super packed and has a lot of business I suspect it used to be amazing and build a reputable name, then finished quality over time and continue to receive customers due to their past performance. The ambiance makes you think that this place offers amazing food considering the amount of people but when you try the food you will truly understand Super Burrito Carne Asada - 3/10 Regular Burrito Cabeza - 5/10 Burritos are extremely small, very oily and have barely any meat inside. Any other mexican food spot would be a better selection. Overall rating 2/5.
