When they first opened, I ordered a shrimp burrito through UberEats. It was nothing exciting, I…read moredidn't even consider reordering. Cut to, a couple years later, a friend and I looking around for something to eat. We decided against literally everything else on Parsons. Looking in their window, he saw they had birria tacos and wanted to try. We usually get tacos from Maya Taco down on Jamaica, but didn't feel like taking the walk. When we went in, the counter woman was wiping down the dining area. When this space was a chicken spot, there was more seating and front room space. Now the dining area consists of a low counter facing the picture window. Maybe they needed more kitchen space. They sell canned soda and Jaritos. They also have fresh lemonade, Jamaica and horchata in counter top juice dispensers. There was no one else inside when we went in, but as soon as we started looking over the menu, so many delivery drivers came in to pick up orders! We got a couple birria, a chorizo, shrimp and a chicken tacos. Everything was ridiculously flavorful. We enjoyed the taste so much that we immediately ran out for a couple more birria. The birria tacos don't come with consommé. Which is odd to me. They do come with a green or red salsa and a guacamole sauce. The guac sauce is completely tasteless. The pepper sauces are savory and spicy but not inedible. Homemade Taqueria has become my go-to spot for tacos. I've also had their beef and chicken empanadas. The chicken was good, beef was a little off. I haven't tried the rest of the menu, but it looks promising.

Sorry, but no. The food was flavorless. Didn't taste like authentic Mexican. Good portions though.read more

This was the second time I came to this place and everything tasted as authentic as always. On top…read moreof the street/backyard ambiance vibe with intimate settings with overhead mini lights, and a two stands for cocktails/bar and a food stand where workers are making the tacos, quesadillas and the freshly made salsa, my partner and I ordered two orders of carne asada and shrimp tacos (not pictured- since they were so good, we finished it so fast). The tacos were memorable since it wasn't two separate entities of food plus the taco shell- it felt like one entity where the filling blended in with the shell and the shell coated the food so perfectly that the meat and flavoring melted into your mouth so well it vanished in an instant. I mixed the red salsa with the sauce it came with and it had a good spicy kick that eventually went away but it was delicious. We also got two cocktails- the pina collada and I got a strawberry mezcalita. The drinks were strong but still tasty, not too bitter to swallow and the music they were playing were catchy and nostalgic. we also got churros with fudge chocolate that came out warm and crunchy. the prices weren't crazy for the size of the food and it is definitely à la carte but it was definitely a night to remember.
