I had the Argentinian steak with the Porto wine sauce, although my friends had the Dorade Royal, and the Kalbsrücken... From their comments, it seems that everything was absolutely delicious. we also shared a tapas dish which was also more than satisfying! The owner of the restaurant came over to our table and gave us wine suggestions... And he did a good choice... i have no idea what our wine was, but it was completely adequate to what we were eating. the service is friendly and very helpful... I loved the place... i'd be back again... definitely two thumbs up and if i had anymore thumbs i'd throw them in the air too!!

They serve you food, taking care that the presentation is properly and you can reach everything. The food itself is plenty and very good. Additionally they offer a wide variety of wines. I have never felt so good about spending a ton of money in a restaurant. Apart from their food and service I can heartily recommend the bottles of olive oil they sell. I have never found a good olive oil like that for a similar price.

This is an account of such a treasure being found. Let us face it, Wandsbek is not the centre of culture in Western Europe. Many resident of Hamburgs more affluent areas may view the convenience of the U-bahn station as a key advantage of making a rapid exit back to their town houses in Eppendorf. Thus I was in no illussion when approaching Christoffers place. In fact all of this added to the suprise. Further, an eatery near a Ubahn station? What tapas delights could await, perhaps a currywurst or a kebab. Or a traditional pork steak covered in cream sauce. Yummy or lecker as the natives say. On taking this leap of faith on the back of the reports herein, I was amazed. On opening the door it seemed Christoph was an old friend. Very uncharecteristic for a German. Normally my adopted countymen take a minimum of two years before inherent distrust is overcame to enable any feeiling of warmth. The eating locations are endless, smoking, non-smoking, with football, without football, near to the dancefloor and singing or outside. The quirkiness was breathtaking and I was really set up for a very enjoyable night. Only positiveness went through my blood. Often with such starts, the food arrives and brings you back to reality. However the food was superb. Some of you may say what does he know, he is British and eats fish and chips, fried eggs and in his native Glasgow they deep fry Pizza!!! Yuk!! Well my little friends I have been about and have sampled some of the best of Spannish food, not just egg and chips made in a cafe on the Costa Del Sol by a drunken Brit proprietor. All is good and all is bursting with taste. Even the garlic mayo with the bread is a treat in itself so make sure your Frau has the same or romance may not occur. The little sardines are tasty but i did feel sorry for them. Instead, I would have liked bigger ones as the only critique. The decor is great inside and really helps with the Wandsbek/Spannish contrast. The garden is nice and quirky with the caravan brightly painted. I would avoid opening the door just in case there are any hippies staying there from the 1960s, they might smell and put you off the tapas. Now to the singing. Christoph is very much a visitor of his audience, but not in an annoying 3 amigos way with the guitars and a cap in hand wanting money. His repertoire could expand and fill what is a reasonably sized dance floor. What about some salsa or tango Christoph? You will treble your money, I want half for the idea!! In all, for me, a brilliant night and it would have came to under 62 Euros had I not indulged totally in the Rioja and ate incrementally until bursting point.
