So I snuck away to have lunch with my coworkers. A group of 8 of us went. We actually called and informed them we would be arriving being that this was our lunch break. When arriving they actually had a table set up for us. We all ordered from the lunch menu. It included an entree and a drink. I personally had the chimichanga and a small strawberry margarita. It took a while for us to get our order. My chimichanga was blah....was heavily filled with rice and beans. To be honest everyone agreed the food was not hitting but we truly enjoyed ourselves. I enjoyed the company I was with way more than the food. Would I go back....not intentionally.....but if I can get another quick get away with my team...I would. I really wanted to get something to eat from El Atoradero a block away but my friend wanted drinks so we came to this relatively new Mexican spot. It was almost empty when I walked in but the place looks pretty good for Southern Blvd. This place wouldn't look out of place at all in Hell's Kitchen or on 2nd Ave. The good thing is that they have some large flavored margaritas that had a good amount of tequila inside. The chorizo was pretty good too, but I was definitely disappointed with the sopes. It was the closest thing to a picadita rellena on their menu but it didn't taste anything like it. The service was good too but it had better be since we ended up being the only people in there. I guess I'd come back for drinks with friends if I wanted to stay local, but I wouldn't suggest this as a place to go hang out. read more

This review rating is based mainly on the service. True story loading: I came with my coworkers here after a short day. The waitress gave us the lunch menu and regular menu. The lunch special comes with a small (4-6oz.) drink. When she came to take our orders, I used the lunch special menu and pointed at the LUNCH SPECIAL burrito. I also ordered a Mezcal margarita (from the drink menu). When I finished my first drink, mid meal, I inquired about the drink that came with my lunch special meal. The waitress proceeds to tell us I never ordered a lunch special because she saw me look at the "big menu". Um, what? My coworker, who speaks fluent Spanish (the waitress only speaks Spanish) attempts to clear it up. She is adamant that because I looked at the "big menu" I will be charged for the big burrito and not the lunch special burrito (that is the same burrito my friend ordered). Make it make sense. My coworker starts to get frustrated and she tells us while walking away "Some people will do anything for $2". It's not about $2, its about the principle. Not only was she rude and dare I say discriminatory (because I don't speak Spanish well), but had zero common sense or professionalism. This is also not the first time I've had a bad experience with her as my waitress. I held off reviewing after my first check in but this second time let me know I wasn't crazy. The food is good. Just make sure you clarify every price and what you are getting when you order. I would say I'm not going back but I will. She will never be my waitress again though. That is for sure. read more

I love this place never had a problem. But today while having dinner with friends we saw a maggot on the table. A live healthy maggot. The way they handled it was horrible. Asked us where it came from like we brought it with us. Never again. It sucks cause I actually like this place but never again. Plus at night time you see a lot of rats around the area. Definitely like the food. The prices of the drinks has gone up a few tImes. Now we are being told that if you order a frozen drink it's less than a drink on the rocks. Which to me is ridiculous.
