I ordered a double chicken bowl with no rice. This is more like a bean soup. Do they not drain the beans when they go on the bowl or is the rice supposed to absorb the bean juice? Also, $3 for a soft drink is pretty steep. We should've went to McDonald's for those at $1.25, less than half the price. I can get a generic brand 2-liter for $1, and they're not bad Lol. Other than the almost $47 price tag for 2 adults, we also bought a small chips & guac for over $4, the food was all pretty decent. They didn't give us napkins for some reason either. I'm not a big fan of fast food, but El Pollo Loco is an acceptable option when on the move and you do not have much time. And this particular restaurant location is a good one. Clean, the staff is friendly and it's a good location with respect to neighborhoods in the area. Although parking can be an issue at peak times, it is an easy-in easy-out location. The mobile app is pretty good and they always seems to have good specials if you set up an account. Again, would not recommend a fast food restaurant over other options, but if you're in a hurry, this is one I recommend. I will be back. read more

I'm an Ohio transplant, so this place is completely new to me. So far I've been here twice and both times have been incredible. I highly recommend signing up for the app since they give you some deals when you first sign up. But even after they run out, the food is totally worth it. I've had a $5 pollo bowl, a double chicken tostada, and a chicken burrito. The bowl is a tremendous value! I could easily have that with a drink and be satisfied. The other two are also fantastic. Chicken is good quality, as well as the other numerous ingredients. For being a fast food place, I am thoroughly impressed. Move over Taco Bell! One of my friends has been a big fan of El Pollo Loco for years. He says their chicken is the real deal. A few of my other buddies are also fans of El Pollo Loco. I am a chicken fan but not a big fan of fast-food chains. I tried the 3 pieces of Chicken meal. It comes with 2 sides ( mine were rice and pinto beans), Guacamole, 2 small corn tortillas, and Pico de gallo. The size of the Chicken was good. The flavor was good but a little dry. The beans were good after I drained the water off of them. The Guacamole was very watery. The tortillas were flimsy and fell apart as I tried to fill them with rice and beans. I got to try what my friends like. I'll let them enjoy their El Pollo Loco fix without me in the future. read more

The food is pretty good and there is a good variety. The offers on the other hand are deceptive and unprofessional. They offered a burrito day special, which was buy one burrito get one free, then another burrito free anytime during April (2021). But when we tried to redeem the 2nd free burrito, it was nowhere to be found. Researching it we learned that it expired after April 2nd, even though the language stated anytime during April. What an April fools joke on their part. Their food is not THAT good. Update 4/30/2021: I was impressed by the quick reply to this email and the offer to contact their customer service, but doing so led me to a dead link. I tried on my laptop, android phone and iPad. Got to the Contact us page, but all that was there was a 'thought bubble' and the message 'connection has been reset' below it. I attached text from their email offer of 4/1/2021. When I'm in a pinch and need a fast, easy and yummy dinner I drive through and get the family meal. I rarely get fast food, but this is a pretty good option. The family meals are good prices and you get a good amount of food - chicken, tortillas (corn or flour), salsa and 3 sides. It's yummy and the red salsa is so good. They have red or green salsa, both have a slight kick. Customer service has been good and fast for the drive through. I've never gone inside, so I can't speak to that. read more

Terrible customer service from the manager. I thought I would take my family there to get a family feast. I forget the coupon you get in the mail at home. I go through the drive-through and explain that I forget the coupon but would like that price.(I have forgotten it in the past and they have a coupon there they can scan) The manager goes on to tell me that there is nothing they can do and offers me a one dollar discount. I explained they have done it in the past and he maintains that there is nothing they can do. I tell him that if they can't do it I'm not interested and I will just be gone somewhere else and never return. He turns around and walks away. I think he acted like a child and should've attempted to at least provide the price since it's their coupon anyway. I'm so glad I took advantage of free delivery! I didn't think they'd deliver to me as far away as I am. But they use contract delivery service such as door dash in my area and it wasn't a problem at all. Even though I had to call and correct the delivery address I entered because of my fat thumbs. When I called to correct my address, the young lady who answered the phone was very helpful and the driver, Deborah, was very nice. My order got to me quicker than most pizza delivery I get out here on the west sides perimeter. The food was just as I remember it from back in the day at a San Diego location I used to go to quite a bit and was still pretty hot when it was delivered. I'm pretty happy, especially since the location I used to go to here in the valley that was close to me closed down years ago for some unknown reason. From ZERO to HERO!! The crew there right now (we just left) is AMAZING!!! From the greeting, to the big genuine smile, to the sincere interaction from the cashier while we ordered who asked: "How is your day going?" to the cooked to PERFECTION chicken, to the steamy hot broccoli, to the rest of the steamy hot food, to the filled to capacity and clean condiment table, to watching an energetic and conscientious employee who cleaned the dining area, to the smile and goodbye that she gave us as we departed, KUDOS to you all!!! If we had this same experience, or even acceptable experiences in the past, we would eat here a LOT more often!! I really don't expect the employees to be so cheery...they are at work!! I don't really like them to be EXPECTED to greet, engage or even say goodbye. I don't like that corporate forces employees to do so. It all typically feels so fake! But, tonight, I felt it was all genuine! I witnessed a sense of pride in their work and a genuine sense of care for their customers!! A RARE find these days!!! I love el pollo loco and I usually get the same thing. I tried an avocado chicken bowl with no rice. I got a large bowl of beans and corn a few chunks of chicken. I couldn't see the cabbage. It just looked bad but it could've been my mistake. I just won't try that again. 10$ for beans and corn is not a good investment during inflation. You can get a totes chicken at Walmart for 6$ taste almost the same. lol read more

Constantly providing inaccurate order fulfillment. Missing pieces of chicken, missing items ordered, etc. When contacted they say it takes several days for a refund because they have to go through corporate. Be sure to watch for your refund to make sure it comes thru. Not sure why service quality here had dropped so much the past several months. High turnover? New managers?
