After reading some of the recent reviews, my fiancé and I were a little skeptical. However, we've always had great experiences at this El Pollo location, and tonight definitely reminded us why. It was very busy, but the employee working was incredibly kind and even offered me a free drink because of the wait. I told myself that if everything was as good as it usually is, I'd make sure to leave a positive review--and it absolutely was. I ordered the 2-piece breast meal, and everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. The only mix-up was that I ordered chips and queso but received chips and guacamole instead. Honestly, the guacamole was really good, so it worked out just fine. Great food, friendly service, and a team that clearly cares about their customers. Thank you for another great experience! read more

El Pollo Loco - Delicious Mac and cheese - Fast Food Near Me - Menifee, California

Ordered the family feast. What feast? The chicken was very small, looked like the size of a quail. They gave us only 4 tortillas. The sides were wrong. I ordered 2 Mac n cheese and 2 rice and they gave me only one of each. All for $46? Definitely not going back to this place. Customer service is very poor. The store was clean, but not inviting. read more

I went there to get some food, and I got 2 crunchy tacos. The tacos come with two shells fried which I did not like. A waste. And one of my tacos had cheese and the other did not. Hardly any meat inside. Also, with my meal came some stale hard tortilla chips. I also ordered a Bean and guacamole chicken burrito. They stuffed it with water beans in which made my tortilla wet. Then they hardly put any guacamole or chicken in it. I love the taste of everything just not the quality of how they put it together. Come on El Pollo Loco. You can do better. read more

Horrible customer service. All tables dirty, my order wasn't served complete because they "ran out of corn", all employees seem upset. The cashier kept telling a customer "sir I have to clock out by 2 so I need you to hurry" wtf? It all made sense when I came on here and saw less than 2 stars. Where is management at? Something needs to be done. I even over heard the people sitting next to us complaining about the service. It wasn't like this before. So unfortunate for the community. read more

What the heck is going on with this place? The chicken is way overcooked that it is chewy like jerky and the skin is like preserved ham. The chicken is not moist and the skin is crispy. It is literally like eating a mummy. The mashed potato look gross and dried like it was scraped from the bottom of the barrel. Don't think we will be coming back here until then. I am lost for words with such disappointment. read more

I ordered 2 CHICKEN dinners to be delivered. 45 minutes later I get a message they are out of the items I ordered!! So Mr Crazy CHICKEN is OUT of CHICKEN??? This is the 2nd & LAST time I will EVER order food from them. Absolutely ridiculous- I guess the chickens flew away just like me! read more

This location is really going downhill fast. It's unfortunate. This is the third time I've been to this location in the 2 months where they goofed up my order. The food quality tastes OK, but probably not as good as other locations. I ordered two double chicken tostadas and got three bags of chips and some weird stuff that stinks . My fault for not checking the order before I left. When I brought back the mistaken order there was a man loudly pounding on some product near the front on some and I could barely hear myself talk, and I don't think the afternoon manager could hear me well either. The worker should've been doing that in the back room. The manager and staff replaced my order half heartedly with a half hearted apology. No offer was made for a coupon or extra food or anything. This place seriously needs new management to whip the store back into shape. Absolutely terrible service read more

The rudest El Pollo Loco I've ever been to unfortunately. ie: app may say pick up in 10 min -I drive over and I'm scolded after arriving on time & waiting in a line. wth Asking a question is an issue. Asking a price of something re:an item you aren't seeing on the app/menu it's a legit question , Purchase a large burrito and it'll fit in the palm of a child' hand. A big pet peeve is asking for sauce for your order - several tacos and they hand you 1 -seriously -shall we all share it , omg! I also noticed that often they don't have inventory, are annoyed if you inquire of when it might be restocked . From now on every time I get this attitude I'll be contacting corporate as it's the only location w out driving to Murrieta. I've never eaten inside as who wants to be in that environment when they are so rude. What a shame - this is probably why you don't often get your receipt so you won't review :/ read more

El Pollo Loco - Fast Food Near Me - Menifee, California

I placed an order via the El Pollo Loco app for 2 carnitas tostadas for pick up. The app works great, just like any other fast food they have points and reward systems, and you can place your order for a specific day/time. The app itself is very user friendly and didn't pose any issue for me. When we went to get to food at the location, the tostadas each came with a green dressing with it, and a fork. That's all, there are no other salsas given. And if you see my previous review, they threw it some chips and salsa, we didn't get that this time. When we asked for extra green dressings for the salad, they charged $0.50 each, so with tax it was additional $1.09. They should really add additional dressings and salsas on the app for pick up. This would add so much consistency each time you order. The place had plenty of parking and there wasn't too many patrons inside. We picked up the food and took it home. The carnitas goes really well with the salad. It was good. The problem is that I do need the extra dressings because 1 is just not enough to enjoy the salad. I needed that 2nd tub of dressings. read more

Visited the Menifee location on July 16, 2026, right after their 9:30 AM opening. The male supervisor/manager on duty was visibly angry, throwing a tantrum, and loudly complaining to himself that they "aren't ready to open."When the ordering kiosk glitched on our payment, he aggressively blamed the machine error on them not being ready and rudely demanded we redo the whole order. Since he was incredibly hostile, we decided to leave.Unbelievably, this manager followed us outside, opened the door, and publicly yelled at us in the parking lot, claiming we were "caught on camera" and banned from the store. We did absolutely nothing wrong but try to order breakfast. As Asians, his unprovoked, extreme hostility felt targeting and potentially discriminatory. Absolutely unacceptable and erratic behavior for a manager. Corporate has been notified. Avoid this location! read more

Great place and workers are always working and helping people. We had 7 people in our group and we had plenty of extras.

I always get lunch from here as it's close to my work but sometimes they forget stuff in my order or there stingy on the portions. Yes the food taste good but this one time I did a online pick up order thru the app and when I got there they said I had picked up my order already and I was just standing there like how did I pick up my order already if I just got here. And they said someone picked it up thru the drive thru and the whole thing was just very weird. They redid my order but it was just annoying. read more

I'm not sure what is up with this el pollo but they never can seem to keep their drive thru moving. There are ppl that will back up out of the drive thru due to no service. The funny thing is the line is pretty clear from the ordering area to the window. The problem is literally taking the order and moving cars. I'm not sure if it's lack of employees, lack of training, or individuals who cannot multi task. In any case it's costing this particular el pollo money. Money that is just backing out due to not being able to order. read more

Tried to give this location another chance today as it's closest to home and instantly remembered why we don't come here. The wait was long which was to be expected being lunchtime. Not a problem. When you get up to the window the gentleman working has a horrible attitude. Written all over his face that he's annoyed, then I order 3 meals and had to ask for salsa since I wasn't offered any. God forbid I ask for salsa with my food. To make matters worse I ordered a salad and received no salad dressing. I guess critical thinking isn't used at all at this location. On top of that the chicken we received was burnt and cold. Won't be coming back. read more

They did not include an order of shrimp that we paid for. I contacted them twice and they never responded. As we walked in, a lady from the back yelled out that we could use the touch screen to place our order. My husband responded that he had modifications and it would be easier if someone could take our order directly. She seemed annoyed but did take our order. While waiting for our food, I noticed a staff member eating his lunch nearby. He was licking his fingers while eating, which is fine in a personal setting, but to my shock, he went straight into the kitchen afterward and started handling food without washing his hands. I was watching closely because, frankly, that behavior is not just unprofessional t's disgusting and unsanitary! To say this ruined our dinner is an understatement. We didn't even finish our food! We left feeling completely grossed out and sick to our stomachs. Food safety and basic hygiene should be the bare minimum in any restaurant. read more

If patience is a virtue, El Pollo Loco clearly thinks I'm on my way to sainthood. Twenty minutes for two burritos, and when they were finally "ready," mine was thrown into the bag like Tom Brady had just clocked in for his lunch shift. Impressive throw, but maybe save the touchdowns for football Sunday. Asking for sauce turned into a front-row seat at a dodgeball tournament--packets spiked into the bag like we were the problem for even wanting them. Shocked they didn't explode on impact. Drinks? Yeah, those are apparently a hidden menu item you only get if you specifically ask. And the icing on the burnt chicken? The poor lady in front of us tried to pay for a dressing they'd forgotten the day before and was completely ignored. Honestly, if you forget someone's dressing, the least you could do is hand it over with a smile--not act like they're asking for gold bars. All in all, if you're looking for fast food with a side of attitude and Olympic-level condiment throwing, this is your spot. If not, I'd try literally anywhere else. read more

I went through the drive thru yesterday on 6/5/26. I ordered a chicken bowl with no beans (I have an allergy) this is the 3rd time they have put beans in it. The only difference is the 1st 2 times I had ordered it inside and they were very polite about it and remade it for me, with a smile! No attitude whatsoever. However, yesterday when I got to my destination, I saw beans in my chicken bowl. I called the Menifee location and a young girl answered. She was apologetic and said come in any day and just say "Robert said to come in and have it remade at no charge" I thanked her and we hung up. Today I go in to the same location, Menifee on Haun rd, and I told the lady everything and she treated me terribly. She acted like I was lying and said "Well Robert hasn't been here in a while" so I again told her it wasn't Robert I spoke with it was a young lady who told me to say Robert approved it. She also said that only the .manager answers the phones there and she did not get my call yesterday so apparently she is the manager. The receipt says Latrese so im guessing thats her name. Anyways, I told her, look, im not making this up, why would I make this up? I offered to show her on my phone that I called that location yesterday around lunch time just to prove it to her. But she rolled her eyes, her body language was as if I was an inconvenience and her attitude was as if im a liar and shes giving me something for free. I paid for it yesterday and couldn't eat it cause it was made wrong!!!! She had me print my name and put my phone number down on the receipt and thats fine. What isn't fine is to treat me that way and imply im a liar. Then when my food was ready she opened my chicken bowl and showed me and very rudely said, "see, no beans do you see that? There's no beans!" Very rude and embarrassing. I go to this location about 4 times a week but I definitely will be finding somewhere else to eat cause I did not appreciate being treated and talked to the way she did. If she is a manager, she needs to have some additional training on customer service because she lacks it in a huge way read more

I would like to formally complain about a rude interaction my mom had at this location on Jan 30th. She had asked the cashier Isaac for guacamole to which he responded to, "We're in America speak English and it's salsa verde." Which I think is completely ironic considering this is a Mexican inspired restaurant and you're literally saying salsa verde? There was multiple reviews and complaints left about this incident on google reviews which were all removed for some reason ? Looking through the previous reviews people had left, I noticed this isn't the first complaint against this cashier. I think management should look into this and the service he is providing to paying customers. This is an experience my mother and I will never forget and it is such a shame to have someone working there that is so disrespectful and has no problem being openly racist. Do better ! read more

The absolute worst place ever. Twice now that I've mobile ordered and came at the max window time my order was supposed to be ready, wait 10 minutes in line and then told to pull back around and then wait another 30 MINUTES (not exaggerating) for a second time after waiting in the line for 10 minutes the first time. Rude and disrespectful staff no napkins out and when we ask a question they ignore. I don't recommend this location.

We recently came here to try their new Birria entrées. Well El Pollo's doesn't need to worry about making Yelp's Best Birria Tacos list (see below). Their key mistake was not soaking the meat in the consommé, thus making it tough and dry. This is pretty surprising since their TV Ads show the meat soaking in consommé. D'oh! Their employees' attention to detail is also, um lacking. That's what makes this a Two Star Review, instead of a Three Star one. We had four errors in our order. Two we caught at the Drive-Thru Window. Two at home. Grrr. But the name of the place is still el Pollo Loco, and their chicken is still very, very good.
