I chose this place because it looked like a popular local spot, and there were many locals dining there, which usually is usually a good sign for the food. When I arrived, I got seated right away. I don't think they're very used to tourists, but since I speak Spanish, communication wasn't too difficult.
The food itself was good, although I personally found it a bit on the salty side. The prices were also a bit high compared to other places I tried in Madrid that had much better food and service.
Unfortunately, the service here was not the best. At one point I asked if they had any non-alcoholic drinks, and the server simply stared at me and replied "beer," which came across as pretty rude.
Another thing to be aware of: they placed a basket of bread on the table that we never asked for and didn't touch. We assumed it was similar to Portugal, where you're only charged if you eat it, but it was added to the bill anyway.
Overall, the food was decent, but the service left a lot to be desired, especially considering the prices. Just be mindful of anything placed on your table, as you may be charged for it even if you didn't request it. read more
