Husband had the clam chowder and haddock sandwich with onion rings. The food was great and exactly what we were looking for. The clam chowder was one of my favorites from all we sampled this trip. The addition of dill put it over the top! Seems to be another hot spot in Swampscott. Very busy place and a lot of locals. Glad we found it!!

What a disappointment. First, waiter told us that they have some issues with grill and some choices from the menu are not available. Ok, we did work around that. Next, they got my order but not my husband's order. Ok. I was waiting for his food to arrive. They most likely forgot about it. Next, we got his order. Food was ok. They asked us if we want the dessert. Ok so we asked for the desert menu. Again, she said they don't have a menu for that but she said that they have carrot cake, tiramisu or caramel cheesecake. Ok we said caramel cheesecake. We were waiting at least 15 minutes until she came to tell us that they don't have caramel cheesecake. Ok, so we said tiramisu. We waited another 30 minutes and she came to say that they didn't have tiramisu either. That's where I had enough and left my husband to pay a bill. Waitress gave him bill to pay ....you guess right, for caramel cheesecake and tiramisu that we never got. My husband was looking at it with disbelief. Like this is worst customer service we ever experienced. Poor, low effort, disappointment and worst restaurant experience for us. Don't go there. They should go out of business! IL

Usually I stick to New…read moreHampshire but I had family in town and of course they all wanna see Boston so I looked up a spot around the area we were in and The Blue Ox should up. Once inside we were seated very quickly... We started with some Crispy Calamari that had peppers and a nice chipotle aioli sauce that went well together. Then we had the Mussels which were very good, it had lots of garlic which we love and it has white wine with heirloom tomatoes. Both appetizers were amazing. Now for my dish I went with the Sin Burger due to seeing a bunch awards for this burger so I had to try. So the burger I ordered was made medium with bacon, truffle aioli and Swiss cheese. It was so good and this dish was the highlight of my night. It was made to perfection and everything went well together in the burger. I'll definitely be back just to eat the burger again. So if you're around Lynn then be sure to give this spot a try. You won't be disappointed!

We tried the "demon seed" the blood orange old fashioned, the "bacon and legs" the "dirty and hot" and the limoncello sipper for dessert. Food wise, we did tuna tartar that I didn't think was spicy but my friend did. It had a nice whipped cream cheese as a base with some homemade chips. Normally I don't like chips but these were good. We also tried the wings. Piping hot, perfect crispness and the house blue cheese I could have eaten with a spoon. We came after a beach day so not our best dressed but we were treated like royalty either way. Definitely a place to return!

Ordered prime rib for first time and that was awesome as well. Sat on their new inside porch with beautiful view of nahant beach. Our server was super friendly, and very busy. Got a little attitude from another server when we asked for water. But there's a reason tides is in our family rotation!

Even though the restaurant was pretty empty, our service was a bit slow. There was only one waitress covering the three tables and it took quite a while to get our order taken. I opted for the baked haddock with onion rings and cole slaw. My friend ordered the baked scallops with a baked potato and broccoli. When our meals came out, we realized that they had put the wrong entrees on each plate. As the scallops were in a dish, it was easy to swap them, although my haddock fell apart when I slid it onto the plate with my sides. The haddock was tasty and moist, with a buttery flavored crust. The onion rings were super crunchy and really good. The cole slaw was decent. My friend's scallops were served super hot and she also enjoyed her meal. Our friendly waitress made up for the slow service. This is a solid choice for seafood in the area.
