We came Saturday at around 930pm and waited at least 45 min. It seemed unorganized but it was well worth the wait. The food drinks and service was amazing. We did not expect this from such a small place but we should've know with how many people were waiting in line so late. We sat at the bar and watched our food and drinks made in front of us. Great Mexican food in Barcelona. Home made hot sauces that were very tasty. My wife and I split the pork tacos and the notchoes with pork. both were outstanding. Friendly folks but no wait staff. You fill out a card on your table and hand it to the bar tender, they call your name to get your order. As a custom in Spain, it tapas, so you just keep ordering until your finished. The place is very small, seats bout 35 or so, so get there early. read more

On our vacation from America, our AirBnB host suggested we eat here our first night in Barcelona - FABULOUS! They offer an ordering card in English if you need that. I'd recommend sitting at the bar where you can watch the care with which they make the food - they are artists! I also recommend going early as they were very crowded later in the evening. How can you not love a place that makes their own tortillas/chips? You walk into the small restaurant where they have a bar and only a few tables. We had to wait and sat by the bar. I love watching the food and drink prep. You mark on a paper what you want and when it's ready they call your name. The nachos are amazing and between the two of us filled us up. I like spicy so he had to make me a special salsa that was delicious and definitely had heat all the way down. The tacos were OK, I would order them again but weren't out of this world. Unreal; the only word that could sum up my experience. Being from the states and having eaten Mexican food all over I was absolutely blown away by the flavors and quality of the food! I will certainly be back probably every day for the rest of my stay in Barcelona to try more of the menu but on my first visit I tried the quesadillas and they were phenomenal! The manager/owner gave us free shots of their house made tequila which was also very good and I hate tequila.. You can't go wrong with any of the quesadillas and the nachos could feed a small army! Delicious and great service, what more could you ask for? Try the nachos- I've brought many people here and they have all said the nachos are the best they've ever had. It would be a huge and unfortunate mistake not to order them- trust me!! With that being said be careful the area can get semi-sketch (meaning that keep your belonging near and dear to you). Once while I was here some old suspicious man came in asking for a beer but left without one and the owner, Pepe, told us that sometimes people do that because they are trying to snatch away a purse or other valuables. We just finished our food. I had to write this review immediately...to capture the exact mood. We are both stunned. The food is absolutely incredible. So many flavors and so much authenticity. The nachos were absolutely to. die. for. We also shared the tinga tacos and the chalupas. The tacos were...well...tacos. Awesome tacos, but still "just" tacos. So if you want to experience something unique and special go for the chalupas. Mmmmmm deep fried tortilla. Also there are like 15 seats in the whole place so prepare to wait and/or be flexible. Big disappointment. After the good reviews that I read and was excited to try.... I was very upset. The service doesn't exit (they say it's ok), margaritas were too sweet, the toilet... I don't normally write reviews but this place was so wonderful I felt compelled to share our experience. This is the definition of hidden gem, a very small hole-in-the-wall location that left a big impression in terms of service and great-tasting food. It does have a small interior, but is well worth the wait--the food is bursting with flavor, the portions are generous, and the prices are very fair. As a Californian, my standards for Mexican food are pretty high but El Pachuco left me very impressed. The drink menu also has a nice variety and all the drinks we ordered were very tasty and did not skimp on the alcohol. We ordered five tacos and a plate of nachos to share amongst three people and we were stuffed by the time we finished it all! We did manage to squeeze in room for the fried plantains with cream--despite how full we were, it was so delicious we managed to make room somehow and devoured it all. The staff were very friendly and genuine in their interactions with us, so much so that we lingered longer than we initially planned and had a very enjoyable evening. Overall, this place has both great food and atmosphere, with menus in Spanish and English. I highly recommend this place for a fun outing with friends or family. read more

By far the best Mexican food Ive had in Barcelona. The chef is an extremely friendly Mexican man who is obviously very passionate about serving authentic Mexican cuisine. All the food is very reasonably priced, and very very delicious. We indulged in flautas, nachos, and an assortment of tacos. This restaurant was excellent! We were the only customers early on a Thursday evening, and the one employee that was working made all of our food. We got the large nacho dish and bean and cheese quesadillas. The nachos were incredible! So many lovely, fresh toppings, and a generous amount of food.
