Puerto Peñasco Vibes!!! What a weekend it was the hubby's birthday weekend. We were feeling spontaneous and ended up in Sonora, Mexico. This restaurant is in El Malecón which is right by the beach. There are many vendors and restaurants around the area. We wanted to rest for a bit before heading to our Airbnb and this little place was the best option. It so happened to be bike fest that weekend, therefore it was extremely difficult to find a place to go. Lucky for us this one was there and we made the right decision. This restaurant has 2 stories and we ended up going upstairs. Our server was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, we did not eat anything from the menu but I will tell you everything that we saw looked very good. We did have chips and salsa and my HONEY and I had a few drinks instead. We were just enjoying the scenery and the beach. The restaurant was very nice and clean. Everything was well organized and it was very pleasant. If you're in Puerto Peñasco go in there and check out the restaurant.

Strawberry margarita

I try to visit different restaurants every time I visit Rocky Point.. this place is on El Malecón (the old port). I was hoping to watch the sunset from the balcony, it did not disappoint, wow that view is awesome! I arrived and was seated right away, I ordered a strawberry margarita (mango was the other option) & looked through the menu. The margarita was decent, not worth the calories for a second one. I went with the fish, octopus & shrimp dish (completely blanked on the name!) served with veggies and rice. The plate was beautiful, the food was average. The shrimp was good in a sauce that was poured over the fish, the fish had no seasoning and was bland on its own. The octopus was not rubbery but could have been grilled to enhance the flavor to my liking. I was offered tortillas or saltine crackers and went without the extra carbs. The service was great, my waiter checked on me often. Definitely sit upstairs on the balcony if you're there around sunset.

Food was fantastic, some of the best we've had so far sonce we've been staying in Puerto Peñasco. And thoughour server was nice, he did kinda get scam us. We ordered the surf and turf, and there was an option to upgrade it to prime which is $485 pesos more, which he did without asking us, bringing our $895 order to $1380 pesos. We didn't find out until we got the bill. Food was good just be clear about what you want. View 10/10

Food and service outstanding. Recommend to everyone. Two levels. Everything was brought out in a timely manner. Must try .

Queso, shrimp and steak tacos

If you love seafood this restaurant is a must try, friendly service, this restaurant has 2 levels seating outside facing the beautiful beach front, great ambiance, I didn't order the fried fish but someone at the other table did, it was large portion looked delicious.

Pic of dried over cooked fish with no spices so bland.

I've never had this bad of service, wait or food. Went here with friends and not even packed on a Saturday evening and took over an hour and half for food and when we got our food it was not good. Food came out in different times and all food either bland or over cooked and way over priced. When I complained about dried up over cooked fish they said nothing we can do. Figured we're in Mexico let's just leave and when we paid the guys had the audacity to ask for a tip. We felt pressured since after dark and just wanted out of this place...Bad horrible food and customer service.

Sushi

Dined on a Monday evening. Our server was so helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience great. The food was amazing and very large portions. We had sushi plates, ribeye plate, and a couple of other plates. This was some of the best food we have had in Rocky Point. I highly recommend

This place has great ambiance and staff is super attentive as well. We unfortunately went a little later and they did not have any more oysters. We had various drinks mojito, pina colada , beers and some Sodas. The place is super colorful and great for pictures. The food was very tasty too! We got roca shrimp , chicharrón octopus and calamari. We got guacamole with chips too

View from upstairs

The view from upstairs was worth the climb for the tasty choices. That even turned the heater on by our table. The Octopus plate was beautiful fresh and delicious. Tacos many choices. Triton tacos hit the spot. Captain tacos and Mexican were awesome. Rocca shrimp is the house specialty, spicy and good. Happy hour always a plus Make this a place to eat when in Porto Penasco. We will be back next trip.

Beautiful restaurant right at the Malecon. Great view as there is an outside upper deck, but even from inside the upstairs, the view is great because of all the windows. Clean bathrooms. The hubby had the teppanyaki dish and said it was terrific. I stayed with the good ole standby of cheese quesadillas, with their terrific salsa. Will be back to check this place out again. Very moderate prices for being a better restaurant on the Malecon.

Nachos

They gave us free margaritas and the menu is a good size. We came in a group of 8 that included kids. We tried the sonoritan tacos, nachos and a few other things. The kids had burgers and quesadillas. Considering this place is located in the Malecon it was nice to have options for the kids because we had been having seafood all weekend.

This place is great I'm surprised by some of the ratings they have one of the best views in the fish market overlooking a courtyard area and then the water if you're worried about covid precautions these guys take all the precautions they ask you to wear a mask they take your temperature and they make you hand sanitize your hands before you enter. Don't just have the best sushi in Rocky Point at some of the best sushi I've had anywhere and I had just eaten but I wanted to try it they've been there a couple years at least that I know of and they make really good cocktails try this place for dinner you won't be disappointed.

We were the only ones in the restaurant when we went. The young girl who took care of us was great! She was friendly & super sweet. Hubby got a Michelada & added a shot of Tito's since there was no alcohol in the tomato juice part of the drink. He said it was really good. My sangria was good. It's made with pineapple juice. We ordered the chips & salsa. We also ordered the guacamole. The chips & salsa were good. I was happy there was no heat in the salsa since I am a huge whimp when it comes to spicy food. The guacamole was really good after we added some salt & lime juice. I normally don't eat guacamole, but I liked it too. We went "out of our box" & tried the whole fried fish. We split it. We asked her to add rice & beans if it didn't come with it. It was huge. The fish was fried perfectly! Hubby loved it. I liked it too. It was moist. The rice was good. The refried beans were excellent! I don't know what they do, but the texture & flavor was the best we have ever had. I loved them. We will definitely make this place are go to when we come down again. Please note tips are cash only in case you don't carry cash!

Pollo Lucas has been in the community for decades and they seem like a staple related to fresh chicken in the town. Similarly to other places, there are vendors and men outside who want cash for helping you park. The seating inside offers a lot of spots, but vendors do come inside and ask if you're interested in purchasing other goods. This restaurant does take card payments, but prefer cash/pesos. Most of the workers do not know English, so be prepared and know at least some basic Spanish words beforehand. If not, it'll still be okay! The women at the counter were very kind and helped us get seated. My group shared one chicken (240 pesos) with rice, beans, and salsas. I grabbed a homemade juice that was yummy too. Note that the chicken comes with cabbage, onion, salsa, limes, and tortillas but the other sides are seperate. The chicken was so hot, fresh, and flavorful. Everything was delicious and we ate it all with no leftovers. The chicken is charbroiled and you can see it all cooking. It made it hard to wait for the food, as it smelled amazing, but it's worth the wait. We'd 100% come back again.

We noticed on this trip that Rocky Point prices were very similar to what we were spending in the United States. This place is very clean and we sat at the inside dining. Note: they only take cash here, DO NOT order assuming you can use a debit card. They are generous with the topping tray, which includes: lettuce, 2 salsa, an avocado sauce, limes, and cucumbers. To be honest, these are large portions and we would have been full with just the Vampiro with potatoes. The Cokes with real cane sugar are always better than our American ones with high fructose corn syrup. A small portion of the beef was a little grisly with fat.
