As far as the decor goes, there is nothing special about this place. It's a clean and simple setup with plenty of seating for couples and big parties alike. Although the restaurant was mostly full, the atmosphere was parallel to that of sitting at home and enjoying a meal while watching a muted tv or listening to some relaxing music. The waiters are made up of a father and son duo and the chef is none other than mom. You'll be treated with nothing less than big smiles and a desire for you to enjoy your meal. The meals consist of large portions, a plethora of inexpensive choices, and all of them packed with lots of flavor. The Nacatamal (Nicaraguan tamale) is out of this world; chunks of chicken and pork with some potato, rice, and a few veggies all wrapped up in banana leaf. The Sopa de Res (Beef soup) was huge and packet with veggies. Rice and white corn tortillas included with the soup. You mix the rice into the soup when you are about to eat it. The queso frito (fried cheese) is delicious by itself or with a salad. It's a white cheese with a sponge-like texture and a high melting point, making it great for frying. I moved to the Dallas area in July 2018 and found this restaurant online and got extremely excited because I love Nicaraguan food!!!! I was not disappointed. We went in a group of 6 people and everything we ordered was delicious. It's a small mom and pop type restaurant and the service and food was great! Hope to return soon! read more

The employees are very nice there the waitress that helped us was very nice, her name was Michelle. Now the food was ok nothing too much to brag about. The reason we wanted to come here was because my dad is from Nicaragua and we don't have any Nicaragua restaurants here in Texas. So we tried the baho and that was ok, portion was very little for the price. We also tried the nacatamale and that was good. Overall we ended up spending about $60 for 2 Bahos, 4 nacatamales, and 3 pupusas. And of course our special drinks which was cacao and a pink drink my dad got. I also found out they recently opened in February so I would give them another chance. What I did like also was that they were very open for feedback! Finding this place was amazing!!! The food is good, but not great as the one in California. But makes good effort. I actually gave this place a five star the first time but I bought some buñuelos today and it gave me a tommy ache super bad!! So probably wouldn't recommend it at all. Salad though is really good. I was disappointed with there Vigorón instead of them giving you real chicharrones they gave you the American version not cool. This was the worst Nicaraguan food I have ever tried. In the Carne Asada Nicaraguense. The meat had no flavor, no condiment. Full of fat. That was NOT carne asada. Looked like bistec a la plancha. The gallo pinto was bad. The rice looked like minute rice. The picante was not good. Salad had no vinegar, just cabbage and a piece of radish. The only thing that was decent were the platanitos verdes. And to top it off, the waitress was very rude. We complained about the meeat. We told her that was not carne asada Nica and she responded that was what we were going to eat bc that was what they had. Almost walked out, but I was starving. The table next to us complained about the Vigoron and chancho frito as well. Being A Nicaraguan from Miami, this was an insult to Nicaraguan food. This is the only place in DFW that serves Nica food. I've come here and spent nearly $100 every time I have brought my family here. I came here this past weekend and ordered less food but somehow it ended up being close to the same amount. So my Nicaraguan fiancé questioned this and asked for the menu since they don't give you a ticket with the prices on them strangely. So we got the menu and added up what we ordered and it was significantly less. So we questioned our waiter and he immediately went and got the owner/manager and she went over it with my fiancé and continued to inform my fiancé that the prices are more during the weekend! There was no mention of this in the menu or displayed on a sign inside or outside the restaurant... this was blatant this white guy is gonna pay more. Honestly, my Nica Fiancé was embarrassed about this and told me this happens all the time. These people running this restaurant are an embarrassment at how they are trying to represent the people and culture of Nicaragua. We will never dine here again. read more

Maybe its bc im from miami, but for the price the portions are very small. 1 strip of shoe leather dry meat no flavor. The rice and beans were ok. The salad is not authentic nicaraguan. Over all the carne asad plate was very meh. The guy at the front was very friendly and the place was very clean. The soups smelled very good so ill be going back to try that. So I was at CVS and my wife saw this place across the street. Being that I am from Miami and Nicaraguan and there are no Nicaraguan eats in Texas, I got excited. The owners are friendly and the place is clean. The gallo pinto (rice and beans) was good, the tajadas (green plantains sliced thin and fried, like chips) were okay, the enslada (salad) was okay but not truly authentic Nica; and the queso frito was okay, just needed to be fried a little longer to get the center soft and gooey, like Nicaraguan queso should be. I got the fritanga nica (fried ribs), it wasn't bad, but it would have been nice if it had a little more meat on the bone. My wife got the carne asada, which was disappointing, it was dry and lacked flavor (I will give them a pass on the flavor since you can't get good sour oranges in Texas). My main gripe is the transaction fee when using a card ($2...!), I wish that when I asked if they took credit they would have warned me about it, I would have gotten cash out. Overall it was a 3, the food cost is on the high side and the flavor wasn't all there (bare in mind I grew up with this food), but it is definitely worth trying. I will be giving their mondongo (menudo, but better) and Indio Viejo a try. read more
