Been coming here for 30+ years and even though I no longer live in the area, the food is always worth the trip back. No matter what I order, it's always fresh, flavorful, well seasoned, the right temperature & most importantly, authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. The owner & staff have been the same folks since I was a little girl, and they're super nice people. This place is a classic in Bridgeport when it comes to Puerto Rican food. Anyone who has lived here has had an alcapurria or pastellio from here. This is traditional comfort food from the island. You can also get your traditional Goya juices in here as well. They have all the frituras you may want and then they also have the traditional meals-rice and beans and all other meals. Sitting on the hood of the car with my dad, eating their delicious pastelillos is something I will always remember. The tiny, family run restaurant has the best fried Puerto Rican food in all of Bridgeport. The rellenos are fresh and delicious. The alcapurria rivals my grandmother's. And my favorite, the pastelillos, are the best I have ever had- they are the only spot I've found that makes them con carne y queso. My father and I stopped in recently when I went to visit, and everything was just as great as I remember. I love everything about morivivi. Family owned, by the nicest family. I've known the owner ever since I could walk I suppose. I used to live across the street and now I have moved far and away. The servers where placement and effective super lovely. The food was more than I could eat, but it was so good that I finished it all. The roasted pork was one of the best I ever had; the rice was just like my mother makes for our traditional Puerto Rican holidays. It doesn't look like much. It actually looks like a little corner store but honestly, some of the best places I've eaten at don't even have a place to dine in. I absolutely love their beef and cheese empanadas. I always get the rice with the pork and the cashier always laughs because I can't remember the actual name of the dish but it tastes so good! If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Never again will I visit this place. My mother has lived in BPT all of her life and used always tell me that the owner is a rude bastard which is why she never goes there. My dad also said he stopped going years ago. Well I decided to go today and let me tell you, it takes A LOT to get me upset. I am half P.R. and half Ecuadorian. My husband is from Mexico. There are certain foods that are said differently in different countries and cultures. Well the owner pretty much went off on me because I ordered incorrectly. To be more specific, I asked him for an order of chicharrones. In Mexican, Ecuadorian, Colombian etc. restaurants, that usually consists of pork meat with the skin attached. Well he basically yelled at me saying that it is "carne frita" and not "chicharron". I apologized and explained to him that it is sometimes referred to differently in other countries. He proceeded to tell me that we are in America and I needed to learn how to order correctly. I don't even want to go into how the rest of the argument ended. I informed him that I now understand why people refuse to go back to his restaurant. He stated that he was born with his attitude and will die with his attitude and if I didn't like it then I could go elsewhere. I will NEVER EVER step foot in that place again.
