Jason was top of the line. Professional, helpful, and all around great. He came to tow my truck, it was getting ready to rain and I was going to have to wait hours for someone to come get me. Instead of driving off and leaving me in the rain, he made sure I got to my destination. Outstanding customer service! read more

Zero Stars! Waited over 3 hours with no communication. Than they canceled all together. USAA needs to stop using these guys. Look up all the reviews very negative issues with them. read more

El monstro towing service on 275; reckless driving despite towing another vehicle. If I was to pay a towing service for my car to be safely moved, yet the towing company will drive so carelessly, I would be very upset. If you tow other peoples cars, boats, etc, then you should act like it! Drive safe, especially with other peoples belongings. 12/16/2025. read more

El Monstro Towing - Reckless driving - Towing Near Me - Tampa, Florida

Used State Farm roadside assistance and got assigned this company. They didn't show after the initial ETA and then again after another ETA update they didn't show. Finally had to cancel and get another company on board after waiting a total of 3 hours and 45 minutes for this company. Total waste of our day and time! They never answered our direct calls and only answered when State Farm communicated with them. read more

I didn't get the drivers name but he showed up before the expected time allotted and got to work quickly on getting my vehicle on the flatbed. He gave me a call prior to arriving telling me how far he was. He was great, friendly and quick. What else could you ask for? read more

Dylan is the best tow truck driver I dealt with really nice guy and takes care of your car. This company is highly professional and will recommend them to anyone. read more

Ford roadside tow: power tools and glove-box cash went missing. Company offered no help. Please beware of this company and try someone else very dishonest read more

El Monstro was assigned to me through State Farm. They were earlier than anticipated, maintained contact throughout the service call and completed my service without any issues. Ryan was respectful and completed the service as requested! read more

Professionalism is Non-Existent Avoid El Monstro Towing. I was stranded from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM because of their blatant dishonesty. I spoke with three different drivers who all claimed they just needed to "swap trucks" and were on their way. Instead of showing up, they lied to my face and then quietly canceled the request through my insurance without telling me. They left me sitting in the dark for nearly four hours with zero intention of helping. Incompetent and deceptive. If I could have given them 1/10 of a star I would have. Unacceptable. read more

I called the day before to schedule a pick up of a used but disabled vehicle in Tampa to be relocated to Largo. They gave me a fair quote quickly. The day of pickup they were waiting for us and quickly got the vehicle loaded. Once in largo the driver asked how I wanted it and diligently worked to get it just perfect on the driveway. We were very pleased with the friendly service and the awesome driver. read more

Thank you for your service. You were very quick when I called. The driver was very professional

This past week, I got a flat tire. My tires are under warranty & the dealership requested an ASAP roadside assistance for a tow to take my SUV to them for repair. El Monstro continued to give them updates as to their estimated arrival & kept pushing the time out. They clearly are accepting more calls than they have capacity to handle. They continued to lie regarding their ETA. The phone number to call to reach them does not accept calls. They kept me waiting for 3 hours! I was so frazzled by the time they got my SUV that I didn't search my car for anything I needed to remove. When I picked up my car from the dealer I found that items had been stolen. None of the items are a major deal by themselves but to lie about your ETA, leave me waiting 3 hours, and then have the audacity to steal stuff. I have escalated this to the dealership in my efforts to get El Monstro kicked out of their roadside assistance program. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are crap! read more

They picked up my Ford Escape after it overheated on the highway. I wish I remembered the driver's name because he was so sweet, patient, professional & helpful. This is the 2nd time El Monstro has rescued me. I was glad to see their truck pull up!! Thank you for providing exceptional service!! read more

Just like every other recent review, used my roadside assistance service through my car insurance ( Progressive). This company was assigned to me and left me stranded on the side of a very busy road in Brandon, FL and after three hours and multiple phone calls ,promises that they were in route because of supposed breakdown , they canceled the service. AFTER 3+ HOURS OF WAITING!!! Completing unacceptable. If this company is ever "assigned" to you, immediately request a different one read more

I will never use this service again. You'll wait 8 hours, and he still won't show up to pick up your car.

Awful!!!! This company came to tow our vehicle. When they arrived at the destination they stated to the destination they can not find our key. So we start driving to destination which is almost an hour away, after the driver waist 1 hr of the shops time at 9pm he finally found the the in his pocket!! Totally uncalled for read more

Told me 20 minutes for 4 hours and ducked my calls. Terrible company I wouldn't recommend them to anyone

Never showed up stop answering the phone, always saying that he was 10 min away, them saying he was going to stop for lunch, 2 hours later no show read more

As I'm writing this, I'm currently on hour four of waiting for my 30 minute quote time for my tow. I've called the company numerous times yet no response. I am certain that this organization is a money laundering business and should really be investigated by the FBI because there's no way that they even own a tow truck. If there was an option to take away all the stars from this organization and make that make it negative I would. read more

My VW was towed due to a flat tire. But the tow guy dropped off my VW at the Hyundai service station. Even though is technically is the same parking lot, it took the VW Service Station over an hour to find the car. VERY VERY ANNOYING. Next time I will ride with the tow truck driver to make sure it gets dropped off at the right address. read more

HORRIBLE Damages property They don't know how to use a flatbed. They don't know how to move your car properly. They are very hard to understand. And they have a very bad attitude especially when they damage your personal property doing a tow. read more

Unfortunately two days in a row I had to get my truck towed and both times this company has either not showed or ignored our calls to get an update on arrival time. The first time they just never showed up with no notification and I was stranded for over 2. 5 hours. I'm not sure how a business like this stays operating with this level of customer service. We had to go with another towing company and waited less time for that one. Not sure how a company like this even gets contracts with a business like this one. Reading the reviews this appears to not be the first time this company has done this to other customers. Seems very unprofessional to run a business this way and to put customers who are waiting in dangerous situations because someone decided they didn't want to do their job. If we ever need a tow again I will never go with this company nor will I recommend this company to anyone. I would give less than one star if I could. I'm sure this will not make a difference with this company but at least others will see it and be able to go with someone else instead of El Monstro Towing where I believe the name is appropriate as The Monster to deal with towing company. read more

The service took forever, the only reason i'm giving it three stars is because of the operator, he was incredibly nice, and after he got there 5 hours later, he got the job done with no damage, quickly and with a smile on his face. I did not get his name but he had purple hologram eyes on his windshield, give him a raise or refer him to a better towing company who actually deserves to have a worker as great and awesome as him. read more

I don't even wanna leave a star because I didn't get to experience this horrible service, why are towing companies allowed to accept a tow when they're already towing ? Thank you for wasting my time, had to ask progressive to send me another driver because I didn't get a text nor a phone call I also tried to call 5 times no answer, thanks to FLORIDA TOW I was saved. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy read more

my tire blew while on the expressway.. I was really scared and Rasiel was my tow truck driver that came to get me and my car. He was very respectful, funny and made the experience so smooth. He went above and beyond and I will recommend them to anyone I know. I'm so grateful. read more

Waste of time. Do not call them for help . At 12: 30 pm. On Saturday. The texted us back after we sent in a request from our insurance company. Roots also is a bad insurance company dont call them either. The text stated to us EL MONSTRO TOWING has been dispatched and should arrive in 75-105 minutes. You can reach them at (813) 498-8300.. 3 hours alter (after I tried that number 15 times. No answer no one called me. Nothing) after I called me insurance back to see what I should do . They said nothing they can do as I canceled that request. Side note I never called it . They just never showed up. So my wife and child who is an 8 year old little girl was left in the hot sun for 4 hours before we called another truck company and they had someone to us in 10 mins ...... please do not use them garbage person . They would rather let people die then to answer a call to let them know if anyone is coming to get them. Negative 5 stars. read more

the owner Alex was very unprofessional. I needed a tow from Toyota to a transmission shop and they picked up the car but didn't want to wait for Toyota to find the key, so the owner told me they were going to tow it anyway without the key because if they left it at Toyota they don't get paid!! he didn't have any type of courtesy or understanding that I needed the keys towed with the car or else I wouldnt be able to have the work done that I needed. he said " they were going to tow it anyway it doesn't matter what you ask me to do with your vehicle that's between you and Toyota" read more

Absolutely horrible would never recommend. Waited over 3 hours for tow truck to come I missed the appointment at the tire shop that I had made. Not only that they not communicate because they don't know basic English then got frustrated with me because the driver that came out tried to move my car on a rim! I'm pretty sure he cracked the axle. I got upset told him leave car alone then proceeded to call me stupid in Spanish, like I couldn't understand?!? So, I lost my mouth on him. Currently waiting for another company to come out and make sure he didn't do any damage as I suspect. I've been on the phone with State Farm and El Crappo Towing will be losing their contract for roadside assistance with them! I have put in a complaint and it has been escalated to the "We Care" department. I will be going after them for damages to my car. read more

Dont waste your time on this towing service. They make you wait for 2 hours and then cancel it.

This review is in regards to making things right. Progressive Insurance sent me a survey which I assumed was them asking about progressive. It wasn't. My intention was to give them the low rating since they were the facilitator of dispatching a different towing company that never showed up. These guys (Monstro Towing) showed up promptly after sending an ETA and having waited for a different tow company for 6 hours that never showed up. They got my short but challenging tow done safely and very quickly once on the scene. Unfortunately we didn't get the gentleman's name but he got it done in some awesome cowboy boots! I just want these guys to know that their 5 star service was very much appreciated and I would call them directly next time I am in need of assistance. And to let them know that progressive insurance's lack of transparency is not a reflection of their level of service and professionalism they showed. Once again thank you read more

This company does not know the meaning of being kind. The dispatcher/owner is a complete asshole. Being lied to over and over again on timing. Waiting for hours on end after being in a car accident is ridiculous. I was an asshole because he lied to me on the timing over and over again. I was in a car accident. I'm in tremendous pain. Waiting for over 3 hours. How do you expect a person who is in pain to react? Then telling your driver to forget about me and leave me? Sir you are not built to run your own business. I will be reporting you. The driver on the other side was an absolute sweetheart! read more

I broke down and Frankie picked me up within minutes he was super helpful and just an all around great guy

This Company was dispatched to pick up my vehicle thru my Ins company and after waiting 3 hours no call no show. In fact, the phone number they provided and the one on their website rang a few times and said " I sorry but the person you're trying to reach has a voice mail that has not been set up." This is not the way you do business. read more

Came out quickly to tow a broken car from one family member's house to another family member's house about 4 or so miles away. I had flexibility on when to move it, so it worked out great that he could come the same night I asked for a cost quote. There were some challenges since he spoke Spanish and I speak English. I only know a few Spanish words, but we were able to work through the challenges and get the car hooked up, flatbedded, and moved to the other house. The car had been sitting for several years with parts removed, making it non-operational. The driver was skilled in determining how to load it onto the tow bed without damaging the car and was able to offload it exactly where it needed to be at the destination. The cost was what they quoted, with no surprises. I would use them again. Thanks for taking care of my tow. The wrecker cab has cool lighted eyes that blink at night. Nice added touch to complement the logo. read more
