Beef stew
Jimmy N.

Came around 7pm on a Friday night and this place was lit! Lol The vibes were amazing. Super nice people. Everyone was just chilling, eating, drinking, and watching the World Cup. It might be intimidating for a lot of people because it's more of a bar than a restaurant but please don't be. They're so friendly. I came with no expectations. I just simply wanted chicharron with rice and beans. Did a little research on Yelp and Google. This place was literally 5-10 mins away from me. They were able to accommodate my order. I also ordered beef stew with rice. Everything was only $20! The chicharrones were amazing... Super flavorful and the crisp, the crisp was so good. Squirt some lime on it and it was perfect. I was able to get a side order of their Yucca too. Great vinegar flavor . Beef stew was ok. Not my favorite. It wasn't bad but the beef was a little dry and tough. Definitely highly recommend giving this spot a try. Will definitely come back and try other things.

Cod with onions and fried plantains

Friendly neighborhood place with a beer and wine license, serving great Puerto Rican food along with a side game of dominoes and tons of local color. I stopped in on a Sunday evening by myself for dinner and was warmly greeted by all the patrons. You order at the counter and take a seat. They will bring your food and beverage out or pass it over the counter if you're nearby. I had a cod with onions dish, and a side of fried plantains, which were tasty and authentic simple food. To go, I ordered the chicken stew with rice and peas and ate it the next day. It was also delicious. Don't let the simple exterior deter you from trying this delicious neighborhood spot.

I had the pleasure of finding this beautiful little cove of a spot a few weeks ago while in Boston. A family owned Puerto Rican restaurant that's been open for close to 48 years! We came for the mondongo (a Puerto Rican stew made with tripes and other similar cuts, very comparable to a Phô) but we stayed for the vibes and hospitality we were shown by the owner, her son and all the welcoming employees. As soon as we got in and ordered a round of medalla for the table, we were treated as if they had known us for years and were family. We had more food than I can even write about. But the chicharrón stole the show! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a little piece of the island while in Boston. Will come back every chance I get.

Great atmosphere, service, and authentic Puerto Rican food. It felt like being back home at the Island with its people, music, decorations.

I was nervous because I knew nothing about Puerto Rican food, but the workers were so helpful.

It's quite cozy inside with less than 20 tables making for a very intimate experience. I loved the decor inside too. The cocktail I ordered was called the Besó Boricua and my boyfriend got a glass of sangria. My drink was sweet and very enjoyable, plus it looked very picturesque. The sangria was good too, a little strong. We split the Tostones Salmorejo de Jueyes which were very tasty, I had never tried a dish like this before. The tostones were crunchy and fresh and the topping was tasty. My entree was the Churrasco con Salsa Chimichurri, which was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly and the chimichuri salsa was super tasty. I also loved the rice and beans it came with. Huge portion but I was able to pace myself and finish most of it. My boyfriend got the Chuleta Kan-Kan which he really enjoyed. The portion was also huge and I didnt try it but he said was tasty. Our servers were very nice and kept checking in on us as well. It wasn't that busy when we came which we liked because we could enjoy each others company more in a quiet setting. Definitively check this place out, we will be trying out their sister restaurants!!

The Mofongo had delicious garlic notes and was sizeable, though there were some chewy pork belly fat pieces. The Pechuga was tender chicken in a tomatoey sauce, good but definitely less enjoyable than the Mofongo. The side veggies that I chose with the Pechuga were a large portion and cooked well. Any item in the "De La Finca" category comes with a side of your choice (any item in the "Por El Ladito" category). Also, they charge an 18% service charge by default. I've been eyeing this place on my delivery app for a while and I finally ordered last night. The…read moremenu has so many tasty sounding dishes that it was hard to decide what to order, but I eventually decided on the ham and cheese sandwich, fried chicken and sweet plantains, beef/onions and rice with pigeon peas, and alcapurria. They offer different sizes for the meals so I chose small portions of each to try a few different options, but each helping was still quite large! The total for all of this food ended up being around $25 also so it was an amazing deal. The food itself was AMAZING: Ham and cheese sandwich - with lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo, this sounds basic but it was SO GOOD. The bread was pressed down and nice and toasty, and the proportions of the ingredients were just spot on. A really great and affordable hot sandwich! Fried chicken and sweet plantains - the chicken was a little older since I ordered at the end of the day, but there was still enough moisture in it that it wasn't dry. The batter was also really well seasoned with different herbs and spices - it had a really nice rounded flavor rather than just being salty. The plantains were also nice and caramelized - a perfect sweet bite! Beef/onions and rice with pigeon peas - The beef was a little bit dry but still full of flavor and felt like it had been cooking in the sauce for a while so it was pretty tender. The rice and pigeon peas were really really good though - I will likely choose this as my side moving forward. Not sure how to describe it but it was really flavored with spices but not overly powerful in any direction. Really delicious rice. Alcapurria - My favorite! I had these in Puerto Rico and this version was nicely crisped with a ton of flavored minced meat in the center. The texture was spot on and just so savory and memorable. I want to go back to try the chicharrons, the tres leches cake, the chicken stew, the empanadas, and so many more things on this menu. It's really a gold mine for dishes and so so so delicious!

Both of us got enchiladas - they were good. Not great, not bad, just good. Service is really hit or miss...even in the same visit. Party of 2, we were seated, got our drinks right away and ordered our appetizer. Appetizer came we ate, then the server told us we were being moved to the other end of the restaurant. Server was no where to be seen for a long time. She finally came back to take our order, we waited, drinks emptied, no server. Food came out and then we didn't see our server again for a long time. I had to flag her down when I finally saw her standing on the other side of the restaurant just so I could get my bill. They didn't even comp the appetizer for moving us across the restaurant after we'd already been seated and served. I get needing to shift customers sometimes but comping an app or a round of drinks is an easy way to keep the customer happy instead of putting out a paying guest. This similar level of service on our first visit. I will be hard pressed to come back based on how bad their customer service has been on both visits.

The drinks, though, were amazing! Each one came out with gorgeous presentation and tasted just as good as they looked. The service was great too, the girls working there were really sweet and attentive. Great first visit and definitely will be a go to spot for nights out.
