Well I've found my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Springfield! We came in on a Monday night and it was busy at 7:30 which was a great sign. They had a nice entrance with some specials highlighted that we decided to sample. The salsa is a good portion which I always like and we ordered the salsa sampler which surprisingly came with homemade pork rinds. I wasn't expecting that! The green salsa was very good but the bean one with hot dogs wasn't my favorite. We decided to split the chicken and steak (mixed) molcajete and had a frozen and spicy skinny margarita (both delicious). The molcajete was absolutely humongous and enough food for 4 or 6 people. They brought us a side of jalapeños that were great as well as a spicy salsa for me (who loved the heat). I'll definitely be back here to try more from the menu! read more

Redemption!!!! I've returned after a few months of traveling and being away from Spring Hill and recently came back after a so so experience with watered down margaritas but let me tell you - this time they knocked it out of the park! Ambiance: great central location, friendly and we came early enough to avoid parking issues. It's your standard mexican motif with tables, Hi-Tops in the bar, booths and Patio seating (which was our choice on a gorgeous day) Service: After taking my a bit too long to be seated we finally got there and from there on service was great. I don't think our waiter spoke very much english but he was a hustler and was always refreshing drinks and checking in on us! Food: Food was spot on and honestly for the price Kills other places for the value and portions you get...won't name names but Tito's comes to mind (lol). Do not trust this place they are crooks, on 4th of July I got on there website and ordered $79.33 worth of food thru them not Premium food service, it took my order and gave me a conformation number and a time to pick it up. I drove to the restaurant and they were closed. I waited till next day and contacted them and sent them a text of the conformation and the picture of a pending charge of my bank account. They told me it would not be charged, it was and I sent them the picture of it being took out of my account. They said they could not refund me my money they stole from me. read more

When I'm in a new city I always like to check out one of their Mexican restaurants. It's always my go to for a "cheat" day, when I don't want to watch my calories. El Molcajete did not disappoint. There were 10 of us so it took a few minutes to get us seated but when they did there were already chips and salsa waiting for us! The salsa was really good and they will also bring you out a bunch of bowls of all their other salsas as well upon request. I believe there were 5 others besides the traditional. They all varied in heat from just a bean dip to very very hot. I had the Molcajete that had all the different meats in it and it was a great price, $24.99, and i couldn't even scratch the surface of finishing it. Others in my party had everything from steak tacos to burritos and chicken fingers and fries. Nobody was disappointed. Although they were actually pretty busy it was still fairly quiet and layed back. There is plenty of space between the tables so that you're not overhearing the conversation from the table next to you. I will definitely be back the next time we're in Springfield and I recommend that you try it if you're here too! read more

I went with some clients who recommended this restaurants. Honestly, in the smaller town I was not expecting so much, but this Mexican restaurant delivered all of that and some more. I chose the chili verde burrito, which was a burrito with pork covered in a verde sauce. One of my dining companions remark on how good it actually looked. My only complaints and it is a small one, is that they do not have a homemade hot sauce. They did offer a few bottles ones, so ultimately it got the job done. Since moving here about a month ago, I've been here three times. Each time service was attentive enough. I would not say they're particularly outstanding in their service but I'm keeping in mind, service in the south seems to be at a relaxed pace in comparison to what I was used to back home. With that said, our servers had never seemed to be in a bad mood and always gets us what we want or need. When it comes to the food, I throughly enjoyed each of my meals so far. The portions here are generous and I always have left overs, which I love! The Parrillada is a plethora of meats - pork, beef, chicken and shrimp served on a hot plate with rice and beans. They were kind to let us sub out rice and beans for fajita veggies as we are eating low carb. I've also had the Pollo Limon once, which is also good but my fav would be the other dish by far. Worst excuse for Mexican food in the area. Food is bland. Anything ordered with shredded chicken should be called soup. Bland No flavor.

We have come here several times since moving to Springfield and have been happy each time. There is competition around, but this place truly is a step above them. The flavors have been great each time and the availability to make a minor adjustment (requested shrimp instead of chicken) has been honored with no issues. Our kiddo has enjoyed the tacos each time we have brought her in with us. The restaurant has been clean each time we have come in. No issues at our table with cleanliness and we always have felt safe while dining. Noise level is the expected for a restaurant. The staff has been very friendly each time and even during lunch/dinner run. During COVID, they have been great about curbside pick up. We have dined through them two times during this and both times we had zero issues with our meals. They were warm, tasted perfect, and they included chips & salsa. Cannot complain about that! If you're looking for good Mexican food here in Springfield, El Molcajete is a great option. read more

We were seated immediately and chips and salsa- which was very good were brought right away. The waiter took our drink orders and brought them quickly. My husband and I ordered fajitas for two and they arrived sizzling hot with all the extras- sour cream, quac, rice, beans, pico and sautéed veggies. Plenty of food for more than 2, in fact we had lunch at the restaurant and brought the rest home for dinner. Excellent wait time, great service, the food was very good and we left full and with our next meal in a to go box, we felt very satisfied and would highly recommend this place. We are opening up a new store in this shopping center and decided to give this Mexican restaurant a shot. We'll start with the building. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Clean, we'll taken care of, and a great atmosphere. Not overly loud or bright like some other restaurants. I had the flautas and my buddy the chicken nachos. Lunch specials are incredibly affordable and are quite large for the price. Both were excellent and the guacamole is hands down the best in middle Tennessee. I'm a gauc connoisseur .... and pleasing me isn't easy. The guac was outstanding. I tend to judge mex restaurants on this. Overall the best Mexican restaurant in middle tn. Wish it wasn't up in a small town like springfield and that there were more restaurants like this near downtown. O well, will just have to make the trip up here! 5 stars all the way! read more

The food was very good; however they sat us in the bar which was horrible. They weren't social distancing. The hostess tried to seat some people after us and a group of people came in front if her and just helped themselves to an empty booth :(. They don't sell non-alcoholic beer, which is a bit of a nuisance, especially when the iced tea they serve is made from powder. C'mon...this is THE SOUTH! Okay, to the food. The entrees were nice, authentic, well prepared and of good size. The salsa was quite nice, but was not at all spicy; and the overall value for money was quite good.
