Great food and service. I like their salsa. Great place to stop at if you are in Pleasant View.

No reservations necessary for this place. It's almost always abandoned ( only 2-4 customers) and sometimes randomly closed during business hours posted. We arrived on a Friday evening after requesting a table for 10 we were seated (two of our walk-in party of ten hadn't arrived yet). Once seated the very mean grouchy looking wannabe be waitress refused to take our drink orders while we waited for the last two people that we explained were on the way. We were sitting in our seats. The place was empty except for a table for two near the front. I understand busy restaurants that take reservations need to keep a flow going. But this place was practically dead and we weren't required to place reservations ! There was only a cold miserable unsmiling gestapo telling us she refused to take any drink orders until the last two parties arrived. Like she didn't care about restaurant revenue or being polite the inconsiderate horrible woman who didn't know how to be a waitress/hostess I bet wanted us to leave so she could be free to not have to service a party of 10 by herself. So 5 of us went to a different eatery and enjoyed drinks and delicious food and smiles with appreciation next door where we were valued and shown some class. This same wonderful employee doesn't understand the food service industry protocol that requires smiling, being respectful and your tip will reflect the appreciation for good service and being treated respectfully and appreciatively. Zero star if I could for customer service. Food ? I wouldn't know 5 of us left. If I get treated rudely I refuse to spend money while being treated disrespectfully. I think the other 5 in our party were sitting farther back and didn't understand why the other half of our party left. I am 68 years old and grew up in a Metropolitan city so I have had a vast number of experiences at restaurants and this was the rudest I've ever been dealt. read more

The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is very pleasant inside. They also provide outdoor seating. I have always had a good experience with the quality of the food. Came for lunch with my husband, parents and little brother that just got back from deployment. After waiting around for 10 minutes an employee informs us and several others waiting that they can't seat any parties with more than 4 people. That just doesn't seem to make sense to us. What kind of restaurant doesn't accommodate a party of 5? They can't pull up a chair or combine tables? I would understand them wanting notice to prepare if it was a busy time but the place was fairly empty. Very frustrating. read more

We came here around 2pm. We had great service. The food came out so fast. We didn't get refills of our drinks but I stole my kids. The salsa is very very good. The chips were crisp and hot. The food was solid. The hot sauce selection was 100% ! The atmosphere and vibe there is great too ! We will def. go back! We didn't go upstairs but If there is a bar up there - then this place gets a 5 star. I didn't see a bar downstairs. There's a couple little things - like up charges for a kids drink and 1.50$ for cheese sauce on your burrito- even when they ask you which sauce you want - but all good. read more

Thought I would give this place a try and boy was I disappointed. I ordered the enchilada combo for $11.99 and all I got was one tiny enchilada and a tablespoon of rice and beans. The service was quick and friendly, but it was quick because my food wasn't even warm. It was like they threw the food on the plate and microwaved it for 20 seconds and brought it to me. The atmosphere of the restaurant was clean and fairly quiet. I will not go back because the food is bland and easy overpriced for what you get. Just not worth the money. read more

First off, this restaurant has an extremely awesome staff! My husband has Celiac's and after explaining the allergy to gluten, the workers verified he could eat the fajitas no problem. Then, our waitress was so friendly and helpful. The food was great, the restaurant has a cool upstairs area that I hope will be open the next time we come through town. Best chimichangas in town. They are the only place I can get a vegetarian chimichanga. I love their rice and refried beans. Yumm!

I've been to this restaurant twice for dinner. The first visit was ok. Not great Mexican food, but likely as good as you can find in the area. The 2nd visit was not so great. The server wasn't pleasant, and seemed to be hurrying us to order. They served all but one plate, which took 5 minutes longer to get(and was identical to a plate which came out quickly). The 1 star came from the metal spring that was found in one of the enchiladas. Yes, a SPRING. Up close, it appeared to be similar to a spring in a mouse trap assembly. When the manager came out, the only thing he could muster to say is "don't worry about paying". I could see he was flustered and overwhelmed in the moment. However, at no time during or up to this point has anyone attempted to contact my sister-in-law(whose plate had the spring, and who has left reviews about this) to apologize. I'm sure the spring is a one-time occurrence, but I'm more concerned of how they handle the rest of their food, which doesn't have detectable foreign objects in it. read more

Great little Mexican restaurant hidden away in The Village with quick seating and plenty of parking. Feels like south of the border with huge windows and ceiling fans and outside patio seating,if desired. Professional and friendly wait staff and quick food to table. Had burrito deluxe and burrito Jalisco.Both fresh and tasty with rice and beans...favorite was burrito Jalisco. Chips were warm, salsa has a kick, and cheese sauce is our favorite. Nice, clean restaurant with friendly staff and a great cook!! Stopped here on our way through and was not disappointed. With four of us we got a variety of food and it was all so tasty. I had the Poll con Arroz which is simply fajita chicken with Mexican rice and cheese sauce over top. Their rice is so good and well cooked. We also had a Taco salad, the special nachos with chicken beef beans lettuce tomato cheese sauce and shredded cheese then a chimichanga. Everyone agrees the food was fantastic. DO NOT EAT AT GUADALAJARA IN PLEASANT VIEW, TN! I was eating dinner with family and took a bite of my enchiladas supremas and bit into a spring from a RAT TRAP. Not only was that incredibly disgusting but I could have choked and my 15 MONTH OLD SON who was eating off my plate could have choked. They better be happy I chew my food because the ramifications if I swallowed this would be much bigger. I am shocked and disgusted. I'm editing my review as the last few times have not been good. This place seems over priced. Service has never been all that good. It stays hot in there and the drinks melt. The Salsa is either blazing hot or tastes like cardboard. The chicken taste boiled and bland unless you ask for grilled but then you pay like 3 more dollars. Not worth it because it usually ndoesnt taste great either. I mean we eat here as a last resort but it's just subpar and mediocre. That's no offense to any of the staff they are relatively friendly.... On the other hand the margaritas are good. But if you want good Mexican food for the price you pay it's better to drive in to Nash and go to a place like chuys, rosepepper or San anejo. read more

I don't usually take the time to write reviews. But this place deserves it! They earned each star! 1 star for the atmosphere! They're not trying too hard, the decoration are simple and pleasant! 1 star for how clean everything is from the bathrooms to the tables! 1 star for the food!!! The reason we are here! I had the chicken and shrimp with vegetables! The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly as well as the shrimp. The vegetables were cooked great, nice good firmness to them. 1 star for service, the guy was a great balance of being there when needed and giving us our space. Last star is for tempo. We've enjoyed coming here over the years. It can be a "hit and miss" in terms of quality at times, but the servers and staff have always been great to us. All of that said, it is consistent enough to warrant return trips. Overall, it's your standard, inexpensive Mexican restaurant with the standard list of menu items. Went to Guadalajara Mexican Grill Friday afternoon, on 6/18 at around 3:30pm. Me, my sister, brother-in-law, and their special needs son. They showed us to a tight table for four, my sister asked if we could take the table for six right next to that one. There was only one other couple eating closer to the front, and the manager refused to let us have a larger table. She would not even let my sister use a chair from an empty table to set her bags on, my sister uses to help with my special needs nephew. The manager quickly and coldly made it clear that we could not do that. She never once showed ANY compassion, caring about my sister's needs, never trying to help. She even mentioned, more than once, that if we did not like where she put us, we were free to leave. That quick. No apologies for her decision, it was her way or the highway, no discussion. Again, there was ONLY one other couple in the whole restaurant. Wouldn't even give 1 star if I could. read more

Best restaurant off exit 24. Go to spot for lunch. Good prices. You get lots of chips and the salsa for it is great not watery like some place. The beef actually has flavor compared to the other place, but the chicken is actually the better meat. read more

From my 9-year-old daughter: "It's really good, it's really fast, and it's healthy." From me: We came here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. Immediately got a table and had our orders taken. Not more than 5 minutes later, we had our food. The food is all very fresh and yummy. Queso dip that we got was even very hot and thin, not thick and chunky and cool like old queso is. I got a taco salad, and my daughter got an enchilada, both from the lunch menu. Our waiter was just the right combo of attentive and helpful, without being overbearing. Our server was very rude. She brought me steak fajitas and I mentioned I had ordered chicken and she very rudely said no, you ordered steak and left. I can't even eat steak so I know I didn't order it but for her to argue that I had was horrible. When she brought the check it even said fajitas c on it. When I pointed that out she said "ugh I'll take 10% off". I hadn't touched the fajitas at all. She was ridiculous. Not great customer service at all read more

Update: Tried it again, and sadly it's taken a turn for the worse. The words to adequately describe the current state of Guadalajara would probably get me banned from Yelp for life, but suffice it to day that yesterday's visit was my last. The first clue to the death spiral of Guadalajara was when the waiter tilted the plate containing my nachos, and grease spilled onto the floor. Not to worry, however. There was still a good half inch deep puddle of yellow grease lurking at the bottom of my nachos. Two bites of whatever mysterious meat mixture was used in the construction of this platter of nastiness were enough for me to send it back. The waiter tried to convince me to order something else, but I politely declined, as I felt that dodging one culinary bullet was enough for one day. Then the fun began. My lunch partner had ordered a taco salad, which arrived without any salsa or other kind of dressing. When she asked for another little bowl of the salsa to pour over the taco salad, the waiter told us that we had already had our limit of salsa. Then the "lady" who seemed to be in charge came over and we asked her for more salsa. You would have thought we had asked her to donate a kidney. No! No salsa for you! At which point she starting yelling at me for sending back the Nachos of Shame and not ordering something else off the menu. Oh well. At least now Taco Bell can claim the title of Best Mexican Restaurant in Pleasant View. read more

I agree with another reviewer here that this place can be "hit or miss". Food is typically great and quick to be ready. Service can be touchy a times. Our server has been known to forget about us and not refill our drinks and all of a sudden reappears when we are ready for the check. As far as price goes, it's about the same as other Mexican places. I recommend the arroz con pollo and the grilled shrimp nachos. read more

Friendly wait staff and food and drinks came out quickly. My husbands carne asada was not fresh meat. My enchiladas were buried under a huge mound of sour cream and a lettuce leaf with a tomato slapped on it. Tomato was old and grainy. Nothing tasted fresh and not very well seasoned. I guess my upbringing around real Mexicán food in Southern California has spoiled me for the real deal. The closest I've had is at Mama Panchis but that's in Springfield. I was hoping to find something closer to home but PV can't deliver on an authentic Mexicán food experience. Maybe that's what people like around here. That's fine, just don't call it authentic. read more

I do have to agree with everyone else about this place the food is good, but the staff don't seem to care about their customer's getting a refill or them even asking how is everything, they really need to work on that. They need to realize if it wasn't for us customer's they wouldn't be in business. Just sayin' Other then that like I said the food is good and very good prices. read more
