Let's start with the good. It's probably the nicest restaurant in White House. It's clean and decorated nicely. The prices are reasonable and the chips and salsa are good. Other than that though you can really see why they aren't very busy. The service was mediocre, especially considering we were the only table in the whole place at the time we went. The food, I don't know, I'm from the southwest and good Mexican food can be found on every corner and I had high hopes for this place when we walked in but the Mexican food is just as terrible as most other Mexican places around here. I'm not sure what the issue is, because we can make great Mexican food at home with locally purchased groceries but the Mexicans in these restaurants must be catering to the palates of the locals or something because it's just not good. read more

Los jalapeños is a Mexican establishment located a smidge off the expressway exit on the city of White House Tennessee My buddies and me were on a tapas trip home from Atlanta to Lousiville when we happened to get off this exit to find food. We seen a Mexican establishment and through "why not. Not in a hurry so No need for fast food". Which ironically I think this place got our food out faster then any of the fast food places would have. Walking in and this is a big place with all kinds of cool Mexican decorations and paintings. We were sat immediately and had complimentary chips and salsa waiting for us. Ten chips and salsa has good flavor so no complaints from me. I personally ordered a Lunch special number 3 which was rice, cheese enchilada and a beef burrito. It was decent. Rice good flavor and was piping hot. Like I had to wait 5 min for it to cool down. My buddies got a Steak fajita and a big burrito. They both said it was solid Mexican dishes. Our food literally got to us in under 5 min after ordering it. We barely out a dent in our chips and salsa. Whole visit took 20 min. In and out. Which was kinda nice because we got a good real meal and still didn't lose much Road time. Overall cool and unexpected surprise. We all had bad luck with our Atlanta place we chose. We all agreed that this Mexican spot in a little Tennessee town would rank as the second best place we ate on our entire weekend getaway. read more

This was my first time here. It has been a challenge to find Mexican food in the style I prefer. I like my enchiladas baked, chimichangas crispy, and chili rellenos that haven't sat in the freezer for a few months. Well, I finally found a Mexican restaurant that delights my taste buds! The ambiance is wonderful it's so decorative it feels like a little piece of Mexico. The music is fantastic I like to hear good Mexican music when I'm eating Mexican food and the Mexican coffee was out of this world! The food here is scrumptious unfortunately, I ate it too fast before I could take the pictures but, we had the Los Jalapenos Sampler. I loved every bit of it. The service is very good and helpful. Solid four or something more. I really like their vegetarian options. The vegetarian fajitas were some of the nicest and most thoughtful ones I've ever had. Lots of times The other guys will give you just greasy peppers and onions but you can't say that here. Solid. Saw some others complaining about the salsas but you can ask for picante salsa and they'll bring it free. It's a nice rustic spicy salsa too and a great way to kick the regular stuff up a notch. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and his order was completely wrong. My tacos were horrible. Service was terrible. When the waiter finally checked on us like 15 minutes after we got our food we told him the order was wrong and he made us feel bad for asking him to take the food my boyfriend did not order or even touch off the bill. I always look forward to my visits to TN so I can visit the local Mexican restaurant. Tennessee has no shortage of Mexican restaurants, but we like this one best.. First and foremost because of the service. These are the kindest people you will ever know. We walk in and are immediately greeted by name by multiple different staff members. They remember my family members' orders and cater to all of their special requests. That's above and beyond right there. You don't find places like this anywhere else. The food is perfectly fine and delicious-- not dissimilar to other Mexican spots. So, you have a similar menu and style of food to your competitions-- how do you stand out? They have a gorgeous and spacious building with stunning brickwork that catches your eye immediately, and their service is so far above and beyond my expectations. Great Service, great food! What a gem ! Was not expecting this in White House! I felt really at home with the authentic servers and the amount of food was great! I ordered the special guacamole and the bean dip. They were superb. The chips and salsa were fresh! The chips were nice and warm you know it was just fried and the salsa was freshly done! The enchilada salsa was a bit lacking, but overall my plate was excelente! The desserts were amazing! The chocolate cake was very powerful and so was the cheese cake! We arrived around 4:30PM on a Monday. The place wasn't busy at all. We were seated quickly in a booth facing the road and the sun was in our eyes. Without any prompting the woman that seated us pulled the blinds for us. Drinks were brought to us super fast and our order was taken. You get salsa and chips at no charge and when I asked for an extra order of the chips and salsa, it was not a problem. The extra order of chips and salsa was also gratis (NICE). I ordered Chicken Fajitas. He ordered Burritos Deluxe (with steak). Our food arrived within 7-9 minutes. We dug in. He really enjoyed the flavor and textures of his Burritos. My Chicken Fajitas were very tasty, savory and tender. Could have had more onion in it, but that's a personal preference. (I'm sure they would have given me more onions had I asked). The service here is excellent. Very attentive and nice. Anyone reading this review should just give Los Jalapenos a try. You won't be disappointed! They have good food but horrible customer service. We ordered 65.00 worth off take out food and three of the five dinners were incorrect. The manager did offer for us to come back and get the correct order but unfortunately at that time it was not an option. We paid considerably higher for the entrees that we received but we were feeding a few children with the combination meals. The manager was not unwilling to help to help in any way. They have a wide variety of items to choose from and I have found all of their food taste great. Their service is above par and they are very attentive to your needs. We're from San Diego and incredibly spoiled with authentic TJ style Mexican food on every street corner. so the Mexican food here isn't what we're used to, but it was still good food. Their carnitas are flavorful and the tamales where good too. Although we found it odd that the tamales came with Italian style ground beef and sauce on top. That was weird. Their "California Burrito" isn't really a California burrito. A California burrito is made with steak and french fries. Their California burrito is more like a regular Steak or chicken burrito.
