We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Mi Rancho and will definitely be back.
There was a different Mexican restaurant in this exact location for a few years--El Rey--and while not terrible, it was our least favorite of the style in the area. Mi Rancho, presumably under different management and staff + kitchen, is a noticeable step up.
The menu has most of the basics but some less common fare as well and some truly unique menu items. It's also not overwhelmingly large which allows them to focus on making what they do have very good instead of having mediocre items thrown in to fluff out the options.
I had the Paradillada, listed with the fajita items. It consists of thin-sliced steak, chicken, chorizo, pineapple, mushrooms, and a variety of peppers. The meat was grilled to perfection and the pineapple offered a great sweet contrast. Served with a plate of rice, beans, and toppings as well as flour tortillas to wrap with, it was on point and yielded a bit of leftovers for lunch the next day. The meat actually got even better the longer it stayed on the skillet it was served in, juicy and crispy throughout the course of my meal.
My wife had the Burrito de Birria, a burrito take on the classic taco dish, served with fresh cilantro on the side and a coup of beef broth. Pressed to crispy perfection. I asked for housemade hot sauce and it was unique, creamy and perfectly spicy (the same type served with the birria). The chips and salsa are good, fresh and tasty. We also tried the margaritas and they are absolutely delicious and fairly priced, not too sweet or watered down with bad mixer. Plenty of ice cold Mexican beer on tap as well.
Friendly service, fair prices, plenty of parking, and clean.
