Lunch today before church was @elmirasolsa 1604. It's been a while since we've visited. They had a breakfast menu in addition to the regular menu. Dad had scrambled eggs with potatoes and rice. Hubby had the beef parrillada, which had all the fixings. I had the barbacoa taco, which came packed and with avocado. Most everything was good except my barbacoa lacked flavor. Although we didn't have a margarita, this is a good place for a chispa margarita. Check them out!

Perhaps this is the foodie in me; San Antonio isn't too far from the ranch. Just over an hour depending on traffic. So, I'm constantly watching for spots to hit for personal visits and also car club destinations. We already have a few favorites; recently asked the local car club peeps about El Mirasol. GF and I decided to head south over the weekend and stopped there based on local knowledge. Seated quickly here's my thoughts. You obvs start with chips and salsa. Chips were fine but the roasted salsa was damn weak on heat and flavor. I mean, Taco Cabana is actually spicier. I'm reading after the fact here on Yelp there might be another option we could have asked for? Entrees presented us with redemption but also some questions. Denoted as Taquitos on the menu is actually just tacos. Not fried rolls as seen at your local HEB. Her plate was tiny Corn Tortillas laden with marinated pork. Handhelds times 4 in traditional tiny bites (street tacos folks) complete with Cotija on top. In true Rooster fashion I went for seafood enchiladas in the Pesca style with a mix instead of straight one ingredient. Worthy of more exploration!

El Mirasol has a secret gluten free / celiac menu in the back. Food has always been good. We love the chispas and carnitas. It's always busy and always tasty.

Met up with a friend for drinks and a meal. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri which did not disappoint. It was strong! Even had a dollop of whipped cream on it, cute. We didn't order any apps, just went straight to entrees but they brought chips and salsa to the table immediately, the chips seemed fresh and the salsa was pretty good but a bit watery. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas and I honestly wasn't impressed. The food came way too fast to be fresh. The shrimp was a bit rubbery, I think there was some sort of cheese sauce on it. It came with a white rice and some plantains but none of it was Anthony to write home about. I wouldn't order it again. Our server Guillermo was live, pretty attentive, they kept our water full and brought more salsa when ours was low. The place was pretty packed, the parking lot was full, I had to park in an adjoining lot. When we were leaving, ppl were parked on the sidewalk and the grass. There's a nice screened in patio and TVs at the bar, the restrooms were clean as well. I wish they allowed half stars because I'd give them a 3.5.

I was in from out town visiting my son in the navy.He was being pinned. We stopped in on a Monday. To grab a late lunch, everything was pretty good. We ordered the fajita plate with the enchilada i think pecanio plate, it was excellent, it was cooked, it right could've been a little more seared, but overall it was great service is excellent, prices at bit pricey but it is worth a stop. If you're in the area, it's a upper scale restaurant..

Location and service are always good. Perfect spot to meet halfway with friends coming in from town. Food is hit or miss. I've enjoyed their lunch meals which were great, and these fajitas were excellent, with a good price point. Rajas needed more work, and ceviche more shrimp. Prices are medium high, dependent on what is ordered.

This place is AWESOME. I'm a big city girl from Dallas. Of course Dallas has it goin on for restaurants. El Marisol is one of the best! I dream of the next time I can have them. I've been lucky to have the same server twice Ilesis is kind, attentive and all around superb! Ya gotta have a Chispa with Tajin.

Love Mirasol Came to have an early dinner. I saw that the special was the Mirasol pasta with either cilantro or chipotle with your choice of protein. So I tried the cilantro pasta with shrimp. It was delicious I sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather, the ambiance was perfect. Music was great. My waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Love, Love Mirasol, I've been enjoying Mirasol for the last 15 years.... Birthday Parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, and just hanging out with friends. Loved when it was on Blanco and now love the new location on 1604. Food is awesome along with the Chispas!!!

Overall experience was good and we would try it again. The service was a little spotty at the beginning. Probably took our server 5-6 minutes to greet us. However the woman who brought our chips, salsa and water came relatively quick. We ordered margaritas. A pet peeve of mine is no drink menu which played a part here but the margaritas were above average. We really enjoyed the salsa. Slightly different from what you normally find. Had a smoky balanced flavor. The tortilla soup had a good broth but everything else just lacked. The enchiladas were very tasty. The chicken inside was shredded and seasoned nicely and all the sauces were very good. The restaurant itself was noisy and while they were busy I think it was too much.

    Bone in the chicken enchiladas

We have been coming to el mirasol for a while now and have always loved it! We came today and got a rude server and didn't even acknowledge there was a bone in my chicken enchiladas when I told him. We were in the patio and the lights kept flickering, told him and again he didn't care. Jairo was our server

Met friends here for dinner tonight that we had not seen in a long time. Was looking forward to eating here because I have eaten at the Alon location several times and he has always been good.. To be honest, was a little bit disappointed. Parking here is terrible and it was packed! My wife got her food, but it was not very good. She got chicken enchiladas and the chicken was very dry so she sent it back and ended up getting what I had was the ribeye taquitos, which were pretty good, though the steak was just a little bit overcooked for ribeye. All in all that bad, but could have been better.

The building is new. It's very open with high ceilings, lots of windows and cement floors. There was plenty of outdoor seating. There were only a few parking spaces by the entrance. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
