I had an empanada which was nicely stuffed, a side of rice and beans which was separated and plentiful and a chicken pincho (aka skewer which I learned down the road at Willie's Pinchos from DDD) which was pretty tasty and served with a fried plantain disc and a crunch AF chicharron! The Mrs. ordered the Chicken Mofongo which she enjoyed. The chicken on that dish was different than the chicken pincho. The menu was pretty basic for a new opening, but the dude taking orders that they plan on some more stuff as they continue to grow. And nothing helps you grow, like a smooth, soft opening.

The yuca was hard, though I asked for the softest pieces from the bottom, if you know about Yuca you know what I mean. I had gone wanting the roast chicken but right when it got to my turn to place my order, they had run out. So I got the pork. I specifically asked the employee for pieces with less fat, and she responded in a way that seemed annoyed. Unfortunately, the pork I received was nearly half fat, even though I requested less fat and more meat. The worst was the piece of pork skin, it was soggy, any Puerto Rican or Cuban will tell you this is No Bueno The rice was probably the best part of the meal, even though it was not served very hot. Overall, for the price I paid, I expected better food quality, customer service, and consistency. I may give it another opportunity if I'm in the area again and it's earlier in the day though I went on a weekday right after work, 5 ish to be exact but it should be consistent.

Extremely Disappointing…read more It's pretty hard to confuse chicharrón de pollo with bistec encebollado, yet somehow this restaurant managed to do exactly that. I called ahead to confirm they had chicharrón de pollo, drove 15 minutes, placed a simple order of chicharrón de pollo with white rice and red beans, and waited another 15 minutes for it. After I got home, they called to tell me they had given me the wrong order and asked me to drive back to fix their mistake. Absolutely not. Sure enough, I opened the bag and got bistec encebollado with white rice and no beans. I put it in the fridge and cooked something else. This isn't the first time they've messed up my order. I've given them the benefit of the doubt more than once, but enough is enough. The quality and service keep getting worse. Maybe it's time to go back to the food truck where it all started -- because whatever they're doing now clearly isn't working.
