    Carnitas Pambazo

Everything was delicious! We had an al pastor taco, lengua taco, a carnitas pambazo, and a carne asada bowl. And the staff was friendly!

Beaverton's hidden gem for taco's - El Más Chingón! After moving from Southern California, I've been dying to find a taco spot that me and my fiance would absolutely love. Based on the rave reviews on Yelp, my fiance knew we had to give it a try. The menu included - al pastor, carnitas, lengua, cabeza, you name it. I always go for lengua. But there was also a day they ran out, so I tried their cabeza. SO GOOD. The tortillas were perfectly warm and soft and the salsa was perfect. Their tacos are about ~$4 a pop. So, if you're ever in the Beaverton area, do yourself a favor and skip the chain restaurants. Head to El Más Chingón for some seriously delicious and authentic Mexican food.

Our favorite neighborhood food truck, serving food that's better than most bricks and mortar Mexican restaurants, at a much lower price point. The enchiladas are ok: kind of "deconstructed", sparsely filled with cotija cheese, lettuce and more cotija on top and the potatoes and meat of your choice on the side. The tacos are good, with plenty of filling, but the best by far are their burritos. These babies are over 1-1/2 pounds (I weighed one when I got home with it), and big enough to feed two people, unless one person is absolutely famished. The chicken can be slightly on the dry side, but salsa helps with that. The carnitas and asada are both excellent. Updated menus are posted, as their prices have gone up a bit, but those burritos are still a great bargain.

Veggie burrito with mushrooms. The size of a newborn baby!

Worth the drive to Beaverton. Food is excellent and fresh. The salsa verde is so good I wanted at least 4 more containers

We discovered this place while waiting for Canyon Grill one night. I had a hankering for a torta, and this place has pambazos. I love pambazos! The place I used to get them from charges something ridiculous like $21 for it now. There's no way. So we decided to try here. I ordered it with carne asada. It was very large, and I couldn't finish it. But pretty tasty. My husband ordered a chicken burrito. That thing was as long as his arm!! Huge! He wasn't able to finish it either, and he always eats everything! Lol My son ordered three carne asada tacos. He loved them! Overall, pretty good and great prices. Very nice to.

The genuine article. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Homemade tortillas, delicious proteins, excellent service, and a cute little truck with plenty of parking and some seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Chicken tacos not super traditional in the flavor dept. but still delicious. Carne asada is 10/10, no notes. Easily the best tacos I've had so far in Oregon.

This was the only menu photo that the profile was lacking.

Tacos and tortillas are solid, but the price is higher than one would expect for the skimpy fillings.

Both the fish and the prawns were cooked in a red sauce that was delicious! I meant to ask for blue corn tortillas but was so excited to find shrimp & fish tacos that weren't deep-fried that I forgot to ask for them. The regular corn tortillas were excellent, though, so it was not a bad mistake to make. I also had jamaica to drink and let me tell you... it was not made from a mix! It was dark, thirst-quenching, and perfectly made. Most jamaica is super sweet - this was not! I love the flavor of real hibiscus and this did not disappoint. My friends had chile relleno bowls and birria tacos, all of which was excellent. Their watermelon margaritas were tasty and refreshing! Our orders were taken by a helpful person at the cash register and the food was served quickly by a friendly server. The inside and outside areas were clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available at the outside tables. The outdoor seating area is under cover making it a good choice for both summer & winter dining. Definitely going on my "have to go back and try something else" list!

I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. For the amount of food and the overall experience, I thought it was a great way to experience the restaurant. Ángel took care of us and made the meal even more memorable by telling us the story and inspiration behind each dish as it came out. It made the tasting feel like much more than just trying a bunch of different dishes. I'm definitely a carnivore and usually feel like a meal needs some kind of meat, but surprisingly, my favorite dish was the mole with eggplant and rice. The mole was delicious, and I genuinely didn't miss having meat on the plate. I would happily order that dish again exactly as it was. The tomates en salsa arabe were another standout. I really enjoyed how fresh the dish tasted, especially with the seasonal tomatoes they were using. I also had the carnitas tacos, which had great flavor and texture. For dessert, we had what was essentially a fried concha, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet. It had just the right amount of sweetness for me and was a great way to finish the meal. Overall, I highly recommend doing the full tasting menu at República. For around $40 per person, you get to experience the entire menu, and if you're lucky enough to have Ángel there to walk you through the stories and concepts behind the dishes, it makes the experience that much better.

Today my wife and I enjoyed scrumptious Tacotes, one chicken and one Bok Choy with house made salsa. Extra side of yummy and creamy black bean frijoles with sour cream, butter, tortillas. Instead of desert, the Mezcal, chile and lime was refreshing. Right now open for lunch Thursday through Sunday 10-3pm. No fixed menu, changes with what's fresh - the way chef Angel loves to cook respecting what is in season. Service and ambiance is friendly and knowledgeable about the food and its origin - another reason I love dining here so I learn about what I'm eating and how it was inspired. Yes, the food plated looks so good, I am inspired to dig in. There's a reason it was recognized early in its start by Eater, Portland Monthly and the Oregonian as one of the best restaurants in the city because foodies seek out and love to go where the food experience is special - especially the chef tasting menus in the past.
