i'm a little mixed on this review. The food and the service was excellent. The restaurant, however, is a little deceitful. I always have a shot of 1800 with my fajitas but they were out of 1800 and she suggested in 1942. I've been drinking tequila all my life and this was well tequila for $27. Also, they added a $33 fee because we had six people at our table. With the economy the way it is they are to be happy that we came in there and spent money and drink beer and have a shot of tequila. I am a Kodak resident and am a strong believer of supporting small businesses locally. Sometimes that is not possible. My wife and I have been wanting to try the food, and our Granddaughter was with us. Warning side 1, my wife got there 10 minutes before us, we walked in, no one greeted us, the blonde behind the desk totally ignored us. We found my wife and sat down. It only took 10 minutes for us to see our waitress. Chip and salso...Chip Average. Salsa watery, and just was not that good. We ordered and the food arrived in normal time. Nachos, granddaughter liked them. My wife ordered a Taco Salas with ground beef. She barely ate any. The bowl had ground beef that looked like it was soaked in grease. Frankly, if my wifr complains, it is really bad. I ordered Beef fajitas. When my food arrived, and the lady placed food on table, then walked away. I ordered fajitas, no tomatoe. Almost no onion, meat was tasteless, Guacamole looked like baby food (and only flavor was the heat) withy same consistecy. It only took the waitress about 10 minutes to check on us, and I asked for extra grilled onion. I ate one onion tyhat the waitress brought me, it was the best bite of the entire meal....A fricking onion. I spent over $50 for this meal. It was horrid. I know this is a harsh review, but extremely accurate. I have been in the Marketing industry for 27 years. I have done business with over 150 mexican restaurants, and have eaten in most. There have been a miscue here and the, but all combined do NOT equal how bad thios place was. I was going to say something to who I assumed was either the owner or manager, but she spoke almost no english and I decided just to leave since I just wanted to get out of the restaurant. We will never eat here again and will drive the extra 10 minutes down the road to the Mexican Restaurant we usually go to. read more

I have tried a lot of Mexican food in tn but this is definitely one of my favorite. The beans and rice are my favorite of all I have tried. I love there Shrimp fajitas chimichanga. And there cheese dip with chorizo sausage is amazing. My family likes there el machete Burrito and the chips are good as well. I definitely suggest you eat hear if your local or just a tourist to Kodak in sevierville tn. They have a salsa bar in the restaurant where you can get mild to super hot depending upon your taste. The staff is friendly and helpful. But if you are worried about covid they deliver through grubhub. I hope you get a chance to eat hear. read more

We ate here on Saturday and the empty parking lot should have been a clue as to how the meal would go. It took about 10 minutes for a waiter to finally come to our table to get our drink order. I ordered the Pollo Loco and the chicken was so tough as if it was old and had been reheated multiple times. Our waiter never came to refill our drinks and we had to actually take our glasses to him for refills while he was rolling silverware. There was only one other table of guests in the restaurant. We waited forever for our check and the waiter never came back to retrieve payment. Upon reviewing our check, they had added a gratuity onto it for a party of 6. Poor practice!! This is our second bad experience at this restaurant for bad service and thought since it had been about 6 months we would give them another chance but it was still horrible and we won't go back. read more

We tried El Machete this evening, the food was delicious, the service was good, and the portions were large.

It was the few days before thier grand opening when I stopped in to try out the bar area. This day it was mostly a storage area but bar items were available. The tv's that I wanted to watch were on over in the dining area. Got chips and salsa which was good. Beer cost too much for a happy hour time of day, 4 pm. They told me the happy hour specials were starting the following Wednesday. 'Folks in the dining area had good looking food on thier table and they seemed to be enjoying it. I was looking for a comfortable bar area to get a beer and something to eat after work. Kodak has needed a place just for that for a long time. Maybe this place will suffice. I'll be back. read more

Food was very tasty, had a lot of flavor. Food was hot when it came to the table but cooled down quick. I told or server and she had the owner come to our table. I explained to him our food was very flavorful but not as hot as we like it. He apologized and said he is working with staff to make sure the food is cooked to order and delivered to the table as soon as it comes off the grill. He said he appreciated our feedback and seemed to be interested in what we had to say. The restaurant is new and I believe they are trying to provide the best food in this area. First time trying out. Service was good. Food was absolutely wonderful. I had shrimp quesadilla and an order of cheese dip. Dip was more than you normally get in other Mexican restaurants. I my name is kim me and my husband came too this restaurant today too have lunch cuz we have never been there and they are kinda new not alot new bt they are and we usually go too EL PASO by us cellular on 66 bt we wanted too try EL Machete so we go in they sit us down and asked us what we would like too drink so we told are waitress she brought are drinks and never gave us a straw at all and i dont know what anyone else thinks bt covid is here and i do not want too put my mouth on a glass that someone else drank out i dont care if the washed it or not well anyways she took our order we order fajitas for 2 with extra steak they brung this out too us and i swear it looks like fajitas for 1 not 2 so as we r eating this and im telling u its a very small portion i quit eating it cuz the food was dried and nasty and i told our waitress all i want is lettuce and tomatoes and she brings it too me with that green shit i dont know how too spell it well anyways she does not take it too fix it my husband had too scrape it off of my plate so im pissed at this time i look around no waitress she is MIA so i go up too pay for my food and i look at our waitress and ask her where is the manager at she tells me they dont have a manager today which i knew that was a lie so i looked at her and said u r telling me there is no one running this store today so she brings this short fat chic over and im telling her everything and how i sat there everyone in the restaurant had a straw and i did not and how my waitress was MIA the hole time never once came too our table.
