Chile relleno burrito. Lots of cheese in the Chile relleno!
    Karla D.

Stopped in to get some pan dulce and burritos. This is a small grocery store that has a deli section. They have burritos, tacos, tortas with a variety of fillings. The burritos are enormous with a few different filling options. I couldn't decide what to get so we got a few and shared. Here's what I tried: Mole Burrito: delicious. Lots of chicken in the mole and the spice level was perfect. Chile Relleno Burrito: Get This! The cheese filling in the chile relleno is super generous. The salsa that came with it made it even better. Carne Asada Burrito Also delicious but the Chile relleno stole the show. Pan Dulce: I got a few to try. The cuernito (croissant shaped one with yellow, covered in sugar) and the pineapple empanada were my favorites. I also got some bolillos for sandwiches later. The bread is very flavorful and not dry at all. The pineapple empanada was probably the best I've ever had. I can't wait to go back next time I'm passing through Lodi. Overall, I recommend this place. Good portions. Good prices. Everyone was friendly.

She was very nice and helpful. We shared a piña con coco cocktail, which I really enjoyed. It had a spicy rim and was sweet, but not too sweet. We ordered the guacamole, which was made tableside. I ordered the enchiladas al comal, which looked really good. Unfortunately, I didn't love the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas and wished I had ordered a more traditional red or green sauce. But it was still good, and I can see why it's popular. I did enjoy the steak and vegetables inside the enchiladas. I was leaning toward a 4-star rating since I didn't love my enchiladas and wouldn't order them again. But Isabella's service was so excellent that it alone pushed my review to a 5.

The prickly pear margarita tasted more like a pink Jolly Rancher than anything else, which just wasn't for me. My fajitas were alright, but they came without any sour cream or guac and the pico was mainly onion. When I asked the waiter, he told me they don't come with it, even though the menu said otherwise. Without those, the fajitas ended up being really dry. I ended up just paying and getting ready to leave, but when I grabbed a menu again and asked about it, they apologized and offered me chips and salsa to go, which I appreciated. The staff was very nice throughout, but the whole experience felt a bit disorganized. Overall, it just didn't feel like a good value for the money, and I left pretty underwhelmed.

Fantastic and they give one person enough for two plus leftovers. And I was able to spot a handful of items on the menu that didn't have any meat. Yay for me. We came in for dinner a couple nights ago, fairly hungry. The dining area is large, kind of reminded me of a diner, with neon lights on the walls, selfie ready? There was nobody else in the place when we arrived, but during our visit more parties came in to partake. Service was super quick, probably due to us being the first to be served, but I appreciated it regardless. I ordered cheese enchiladas with green salsa, and my love ordered carnitas. Chips and a mild salsa came out quickly, with the chips still warm. Yum! Rice and beans came with my entree, and all was scrumptious. The green salsa was tangy and full of flavor. Everything was full of flavor. No complaints, no notes. Prices were normal even generous given the quality and portions. We will be back soon!

I went with the steak fajitas and they came out hot with a good mix of peppers and onions. Plenty of flavor and a fair portion. My wife ordered the shrimp and fish tacos and those ended up being our favorite. They were crispy, well-seasoned, and put together nicely. We also tried a strawberry margarita, which was good but could've been sweeter. Service was fast, friendly, and our food came out quicker than expected. 100% will be back for more shrimp tacos!

As soon as the location opens usually around 11 AM it becomes very busy but not sure if they take reservations as we just usually walk in and kind of wait a couple of minutes and then we are seated or sometimes they ask us to see her self. I really enjoy the service that we get here every time we do visit because everybody that helps us out is very pleasant and nice and cordial. They do play the music very loud as if replicating you are in a live concert lol but sometimes it helps bring out the vibes depending on if somebody is celebrating an occasion. The atmosphere is kind of set up like a sailor ship or something rather but of course pertains to the sea. They do offer other things on their menu and they also serve alcohol beverages if that is of your interest. Their parking lot is shared with other businesses around the area so sometimes it's difficult to find a parking space. Upon arrival, I immediately liked the place, judging it from the exterior. It reminded me of Old Mexico or extreme southern Texas back in the fifties. Upon opening the entrance door, the sound of Ranchero music greeted us before a lady immediately led us to a table, walking past (through) the bar on the way. The bar looked well stocked, both with alcohol and patrons enjoying their libations. We were seated in the next room at a beautiful tiled top table which was plenty large for a party of six. Looking around, it was evident there were more similar rooms branching off ours. Nice. We were waited upon quickly and happily. Our meals were brought in a timely manner and on very hot plates for most of the dishes. I chose their Chili Colorado, which the menu boasted had won the California State Chili Cook-off. Chimichangas were ordered by a few of us. Tacos by others. House salad or taco soup was served With the plated meals. All around, food was good, the service better. We all had a nice gathering. To me, I'd say the food was average to very good. My Chili Colorado, (Texas Chili to me) was good, but very salty. Others said their chimichangas were good also I would definitely return sometime if I had opportunity to return to Lodi, to try the Chili again and enjoy their ambiance of an old memory. All in all I would say 3 stars for food. But the old country setting and decor along with great and friendly service bumps it up to 4 stars.

This place did not disappoint. They serve mainly pork for meat options, different types of prepared pork and chicken is available. No pastor to be had. Sadly, no beef or Steak/Carne Asada either. They do pork very well, it was delicious. I ordered a super taco with Carnitas on it and a regular/street taco with chicken. They do not skimp on the meat portions. The actual Carnitas (shredded pork) on the super taco was grade A. Was not greasy, stringy, or crispy. It was tender and tasty. I could tell it was freshly made. They have three different sauce to choose from and all are above average. I got the green avocado salsa. This restaurant is sizable, and has a large seating area with a lot of chairs. There is a bar in the corner too, but nobody was sitting there at all. I'm thinking the crowds are packed in at nighttime here. The customer service was swell. Nothing negative to speak of. I want to give this place five stars, because I really did like the food. I won't do so because on a hot day, some ice in my drink was necessary. The fountain soda machine was not dispensing ice cubes. Nonfunctional. Not okay. Everything else was practically fine though. The price points are not low. Spendy menu items across the board. The store was very clean, with an atmosphere more welcoming than not. I'd return for more.
