    Chicken taco

We went here TWICE! 1st was pick up and 2nd time dine in. It is that solid. Fresh food and generous portions! I ordered ahead and had a bit of a wait. For take out. The chimichanga was still crispy and warm. Great cheesy pull, filling and delicious. Churros even survived the drive. It was magic! Dine-in experience: The staff was friendly and open clean restaurant. Outdoor seating is available. It's Ardmore so not busy but this is a block of restaurant. Free margaritas! You do have to buy chips & salsa for the table. We didn't because this is our second time eating here, first time dining in. For a chain restaurant I'm very impressed. The portions are generous. The flavor is on point. The mole was just the right sweet spice. These pics are from the carry out (tacos and shrimp chimichanga) and dine in (fajitas and shrimp chimichangas). I highly recommend the chimichanga. Churros you must get the churros. I forgot to take a pic. Get them too!!

They offer free margaritas for dine in patrons which is plus, they are pretty light-handed with the alcohol but not going to complain about free items. I got the chicken torta and it was huge, enough for two portions but it was very messy to eat. The serving sizes are pretty generous except for the chicken quesadilla. Reasonable pricing, I would return.

I have loved coming to el limon for years. They are hands down my favorite place for tacos, tamales and that complementary margarita! The food is absolutely delicious and really filling. Going for lunch or dinner always sends me home with at least one little bite for a late night snack or lunch the next day. From the chimichanga to the tortes and more. The service is great here, super lovely staff. This new place they moved into feels right and home and love the new decor. It's clean and bright, everything that you want from a great Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend the tortilla soup bowl, the flavor is insane and you won't regret it. However, it is super filling so choose wisely if you indulge. Also all the agua frescas are great, you can't go wrong. Make sure you stop in here for a quick bite, a long chat or even just a quick takeout order. Enjoy!

So good!! Brought my parents here for an early dinner and we all loved it! We had the chicken tinga tacos and vegetable tacos, alongside some chips, pico, and guac. We opted for the supreme version of the tacos which adds additional toppings so the tacos were very filling. We also tried the chicken tinga fajitas. Fajitas were super sizzly and delicious. Service was also great. We were able to get street parking across the street. Overall, I'd come back! Happy eating!

    Chips, salsa, and guacamole

For starters we enjoyed the chips with guacamole and salsa. The salsa was a medium hot pico de galla with a few spicier spots from the diced jalapenos. Everyone enjoyed. I had the marinated chicken fajitas. Others in my party had the tacos (shrimp, barbacoa, tinga, carnitas, and asada). All were good and very reasonable. Included 2 free margaritas per person. Bill was $62 for chips, guac, salsa, 6 iced teas, 2 margaritas, 8 tacos, and chicken fajitas. Place was clean, but could use a face lift with a paint job. Service was fine. Would definitely return when in the area. And, have already recommended to friends.

Chicken Tinga Tacos with Guacamole and Mole

I usually just get three tacos when I go to El Limon. It's good enough for a neighborhood taco place. My go to is the Chicken Tinga tacos. They're juicy,, moist and the meat is plentiful. This time the meat was dry so not as tasty but fine abd edible. The guacamole is tasty. It has the perfect lime-y tang to it. I ate the guacamole without the chips because they weren't as fresh as I'd like so they took away from the tastiness of the guacamole. My husband had a burrito that came with mole. Did not love the mole....no one did so that got disposed of.

We popped in after a few drinks in the area. I've been meaning to check this place out and was excited to finally make it in. The hosts were very nice and margaritas were complimentary! We ordered the chips and guacamole (we loved) , al pastor burrito bowl, tortilla soup and chicken burrito. While everything came out hot and looking delicious we weren't wowed by the favor. We vowed to check out another location.

They moved locations and it's just as good if not better. I choose El Limon over any Mexican restaurant always. You can't go wrong with anything on this menu but my favorites are anything with the Al pastor or chorizo.

    Cheese Quesadilla
    Alyssa F.

i've never been inside, only ordered out, but I can say from what i've received their food is great. The price is very fair for the portion given. I have only gotten the cheese quesadilla. the cheese quesadilla comes with lettuce and tomato's, and sour cream. I also get chips guac and pico and the chips are homemade. I will continue to order my quesadilla here whenever i'm in the mood!

Love this place. Authentic, affordable, fast. The staff is always friendly, kind and accommodating. The food is great. My favorite is their Tacos, the chicken tinga and the lengua. A neighborhood favorite for sure !

The only seasoning on my burrito was excess salted chicken, definitely needs a sauce. Don't know why the food is so popular.

Don't let the outside fool you, it's tucked in behind a bigger building and it's inside the pizza shop but that was easily the best birria I had on the east coast. The corn tortilla was actually crispy which was a big bonus in my book with the perfect salty bite. The shredded beef was beyond bountiful; so savory and perfectly balanced with the fresh onion and melty cheese. The consume was rich with perfect notes of acidity and spice I double dipping into the hot sauce which made for a perfect bite. The green onions were killer not everyone does that super good. Barely finished 2 tacos they are stuffed! 3 tacos and a soda came to $20, well worth it. Also customer service was good, the guy at the register and cooks were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend eating here.

We ordered the shrimp tacos, the veggie tacos, and a large side of guacamole. The shrimp tacos were the worst I've tried. Three tacos each with approximately one underseasoned shrimp cut into tiny pieces, topped with chopped tomato, jalapeño, onion, and a tiny bit of cilantro, drizzled with chipotle mayonnaise. The shrimp was tasteless and the portion was tiny. The pico de gallo was as average as it gets. Not to mention the tacos at El Limon come with beans and rice for the same price, these did not. I got takeout and had homemade corn salsa, pickled jalapeños, and hot sauce in my refrigerator, thank god, because these tacos needed some flavor. My boyfriend ordered the veggie tacos and didn't say much other than he disliked them and proclaimed Lili's a "one and done."

The food quality and prices were equally uneven. The very small portioned chicken dish (priced the same as the wagyu meatloaf) was dry and flavorless, and seemed as if it had been barely reheated in the microwave. The star of the meal was the meatloaf: perfectly seasoned with the most delicious, moist, and tender texture. But this dish was served with a very strange rubbery bacon covering some asparagus. The potato puree was very well executed, not gummy or over whipped, but silky and delicate. Strangely, the vegetables were also highlights: perfectly crisp grilled asparagus and Brussels sprouts. The most offensive dish of the evening was the dessert in the form of an apple crumb described as "flaky" and "buttery." I am not exaggerating when I say that this tasted like an Ikea cafeteria dessert that had been stuck in the display case for a month. Truly the most abominable, rubbery, dense, dry dessert I've ever had. I'm shocked they had the audacity to serve this. Service was mostly excellent, but we were confused as to why another table had the specials recited to them when we didn't. Perhaps this is decent place for happy hour, but I wouldn't recommend a full meal here.

The food arrived and was mostly luke-warm with half of the plate fried potatoes. I would expect real maple syrup for the french toast not smuckers containers to open yourself. The coffee was goood but arrived with the bill and was luke-warm as well. The free mimosa for mothers was a nice touch but did not compensate for the overall experience. It is a lovely venue and fresh carnations on each table- so a pity.
