I ordered deliver from El Limon to my hotel. I ordered four tacos and a side of guacamole. While the salsas and guacamole were superb, the tacos were a bit greasy. Some had a lot of flavor but others looked like not super fresh meat (especially the chicken and steak tacos). As a result, I would not try the tacos ago so I can avoid the grease. However I would try something else so I can try those delicious salsas again. read more

I had not been there for 3 years. I ordered a chicken burrito. The price was up to $13.95. It was mostly rice. Very little chicken. Worst burrito I have ever had. I am from California and I know where to get good burritos there. I complained to the waitress. She did not care. I told the cashier about the problem. She said the management made a lot of changes. This is the OG El Limón and, as expected, it hits different from the others. I've visited over 7 locations and this one is quite possibly the top 1 (based on 5+ visits). Service: the employees are always attentive, polite, and prompt. The food arrives quickly even when they're busy! Food: I usually get the loaded nachos and veggie tacos. Both are fresh and generously portioned w/ just the right amount of cilantro. I appreciate the fact that they give wedges of lime with the tacos; the acidity cuts through the heartiness of the veggies in the best way possible. We eat at the lemon a lot - but at the Bryn Mawr location only. We were in Conshy and starved - so we decided to grab a meal at this location. First off, the prices were quite a bit higher than the Bryn Mawr location - but Im sure the rent is higher - plus we can afford it so it wasn't that big of a deal to pay a bit more. Also, we know the food always comes fast and were pleased to find out that was the case at this location too. We like to be in and out when we are hungry. Soooo, we ordered the loaded nachos. And they came out looking great! So many toppings we could hardly see the chips - awesome right? We dig in and find out - we can't see the chips because they didn't put many chips on the plate. Like 10 chips under all those toppings. The menu says you can order more chips for a price - but we weren't about to do that so we just ate the toppings with a fork. I would not order this again here obvi. I was torn between ordering a burrito or enchiladas but went w the chorizo enchiladas specifically because it came w a side of rice and beans and I know their beans are good. Meal came out fast - rice and enchiladas were great! But the beans were ice cold - so I decided I would just take them home and eat them the next day when I could heat them up myself. read more

I don't know how I haven't reviewed El Limon until now. They are my go-to, consistent, QUALITY spot for tacos in the greater Philadelphia area. Their food tastes so so authentic. I've never been disappointed after eating their tacos. They taste impressively delicious and flavorful on their own, and their sauces give an added kick if you like even more spice. You can make them "supreme" and add lettuce, cheese and sour cream but I personally don't think they even need those added toppings. I can vouch for the chicken tinga, el pastor, carnitas, carne asada and barbacoa. The food is very affordable too. Come to El Limon for authentic Mexican food, very decent prices and a party in your mouth! read more

We ordered our food, a smothered burrito and two orders of fish tacos. Main meals were good, rice was average and the beans were just ok. First few times we'd been to this location were kind of rough, but in the following few years of coming consistently, they've stepped up their game in my book. We still go there now and then for takeout, and were mainly doing takeout from there even before the pandemic. The food is always good, and the green salsa is amazing! Every time we order, we ask for some extra green salsa, but sometimes they end up giving us extra tomatillo sauce instead. Some of my favorites here include the enchiladas, alambre, burritos, tacos, and their tortas! Generous portions, perfect temperature, and everything is full of flavor. I'm a fan of the enchiladas. My coworker "dreams about the burritos"; she is a huge fan of them. Their homemade tomatillo sauce is AMAZING! The guacamole has a tasty kick. The restaurant is not huge, so seating is limited.
