Inside was very nice and promising, busy even. We stopped for a bite on the way back from the beach but unfortunately not very impressed. The drinks were not very well made, unfortunately we felt we couldn't even drink this. The food isn't terrible but we were not impressed with the lack of flavor in each dish, it felt very plainly made. If you're not big flavor but still want cultural dishes, you may like this place. The service was also not very good, our server seemed uninterested but was also not always the one serving us. There was a mixup with the food, they left dishes on our table for about three minutes until he could say it wasn't our correct order and brought it straight to the next table instead. We found this to be a bit unsanitary. I want to give the benefit of the doubt of it being a busy day for them but I can't honestly recommend from my first visit. read more

An amazing dinner experience, wonderful quality dishes. The restaurant decor was very lovely and there was plenty of parking available. The staff was very hospitable. I ordered the fajita and my bf ordered the steak both dishes came with rice, beans and tortillas. The steak was tender and the fajitas were excepcional. We wanted margaritas and nachos and that's what we got !! We always forget about "Happy Hour" in FL. We missed it but keep in mind that it does exist. This place is phenomenal. I got a frozen strawberry margarita, the molcajete, and fried icecream. The prices were good and was able to split with leftovers this main meat dish for $35. Tonight the Ceviche was phenomenal, and the Thursday special Lechon (Cuban Pork) was perfect with yellow rice and the best black beans you can find anywhere. I was feeling a litter over stimulated but the breeze outside made it better. Did not like my food, I ordered arroz con pollo and tostones. The arroz con pollo was a bit meh (the seasoning is missing something) and the tostones were soggy. Service person didn't tend to me very much as I was alone , thus leaving me waiting to ask for things like salt, a refill , and napkins. Haven't been here in years and won't wait so long again! Looks the same as it always had. We started with quesadilla with ground beef. It was good and hot. Not spectacular but good. Jess had steak fajita and I had palomilla steak. Both dinners were excellent. Big portions and everything tasted homemade. We both liked dinner a lot. Saw some nice looking desserts but we were not offered any. Oh well, maybe next time. We will be back. read more

I have visited many times and feel that I can make a reasonable decision on rating the food and service of this establishment. While there are many good tasting items that I have found enjoyable such as the Cuban sandwiches, salads such as the California salad and many items ala carte such as the enchilada. There is 1 item that I have to mention that I ordered which was the chili rellenos that I do not care for. The dinner plate comes with rice and beans like most Mexican restaurants and the chips and salsa were just about average. Seems that the chips were thrown in a basket with no care and some were overcooked, the salsa was great but I would have preferred some extra on my food when it arrived . All in all I give it a thumbs up on ambience but average on the food and service read more

Update. They have corrected every issue I wrote about in previous review! They are bending over backwards to insure everyone is happy with their food and drink. They have in fact went out of their way to ensure that I was satisfied with everything. They have changed their menu to include some very good dishes. When I ask to take my leftovers home they will give me fresh chips and salsa. Fresh sides that they know I like without asking. Food quality has improved significantly as well as customer service. A significant back up on I-95 heading south after a trip to Orlando brought my husband and I to El Leoncita. We pulled off the highway and looked for a place to have an early dinner. Yelp led us to El Leoncita. Service and food were only so-so. We stood at the host stand for several minutes before anyone on staff acknowledged us. After we were seated, it took a few minutes for someone to bring us menus. Our server was friendly but the overall pace was slow throughout the meal. The chips in our chips and salsa tasted stale. The chicken fajitas I ordered weren't seasoned well and tasted bland. Curiously, the peppers and onions that accompanied the chicken were tasty and nicely seasoned. Portion sizes were generous and I took some home for lunch the next day. The decor is cute and bright. There is an outdoor seating area and a bar inside as well. Horrible. Got sat immediately but waited on our server for 15/20 minutes. Finally ordered our drinks and he brought us the wrong drinks. Ordered a large queso and it tasted like Alfredo sauce. Also wasn't told the salsas were different so my children got a spicy salsa when my husband and I ate a salsa that had no flavor. Tasted like tomato juice. I ordered the chicken fajitas and it came with 5 quarter size pieces of chicken. Does not come with pico de gallo, sour cream, OR guacamole. Only dry rice and beans. When I was brought my refill, there was some type of cleaner in the drink. At this point my husband was thinking I was just upset by the rest of my meal that he tried my drink and confirmed there was definitely cleaner in it. Came to this place on Easter and it was a terrible experience . Great host. Walked in sat down instantly. Waited 25 minutes then I asked another server do we have a server at the table they went to go get somebody. another 20 minutes and a server showed up. They could have atleast acknowledged us and brought us some waters. I had to ask for water, I almost used my chip plate as a food plate and there was no napkins giving to me.
