Very clean establishment, clean restrooms. Very friendly and attentive waitress. Yummy food. Great portions. and pan de dulce at 15 feet away.

I stopped by El Kiche bakery and restaurant looking for some yummy pastries, and while the bakery case showed some tasty looking treats, most of the pastries were basically the same (according to the employee). I tried a pineapple pastry and a cornbread muffin; both were ok but not something I'll crave or come back for. There were some people enjoying food in the restaurant, so maybe I'll try a dish or two if I'm in the area. It's in a plaza with some parking.

Food was really good, ambiance is great with marimba in the background, and customer service was great.

A Guatemalan friend recommended this restaurant. She told me they have authentic food. Don't let the bakery name fool you. It's a sit down restaurant. They have things for sale including clothing, baked goods, medicines and some Guatemalan snacks. I ordered the black bean stuffed plantains. They're really good but they were served lukewarm. I also ordered a cantaloupe juice. They make it when you order it. I asked for it not to be too sweet. But it was served very sweet and it lacked canteloupe. The coffee is not strong but it's good quality. And they do have brown sugar. Yay! I would like to return to try their atoles. Atol is a hot corn flour drink. The restaurant is lively as they play marimba music which is typical of the country.

This place is a hidden gem on this side of Westheimer !! Best meal i've had in a really long time and at a great cost. The staff were extremely sweet, store was clean and cute.. Couldn't ask for a better experience!!

THE CUTEST SPOT EVER! my mom and I wanted to try a new place and came across El Kiche, the second we walked in we felt a homey vibe, there's Guatemalan snacks, clothes, accessories. I ordered chicken empenadas, fried plantain and chicken Jocon. All very delicious, super fresh and very clean! Restaurant staff is very friendly. I love this place, and I highly recommend it! 5/5 for food 5/5 for service 5/5 for cleanliness 5/5 for Covid measures

This place has authentic Guatemalan food. I have never had Guatemalan until today. We had the the Combo Chapin and Tilapia con Camarones (Pictures below). We loved both dishes. Cokes are served in bottles. They have a walkup counter for ToGo and to purchase the sweet breads, otherwise you will have a waitress that will serve you at your table. The service was super and very attentive. Check out the sweet breads! I am planning on coming back!

This is such a cute and well run bakery. Traditional Guatemalan breads and food. Hidden gem on Westheimer. The fresh baked breads hits your nose and warms it with a sweet and toasty aroma. They also have frozen homemade treats too. I only stopped by to check it out and left with bread and a delicious strawberry and cream tart stick, it was sooo flaky and delicious. Their fresh baked goods speak for itself and I'm sure 100 percent of their customers return. Great service, Great atmosphere, Friendly smiles, and amazing variety and all delicious sounding products being made with love.

5 stars all around! 5 for food, 5 for service, 5 for cleanliness, 5 for value and 5 for location! Came for brunch/lunch and it was so good. What we ordered: Huevos divorciados Chaluta de puerco Horchata Atol de elote Like I mentioned, everything we ordered was delicious! I loved the plantains that came with the meal (divorciados is what I got, my husband got the other). They were super sweet and tasted perfectly cooked. I also loved the beans and green and red salsas that came with. THE TORTILLAS ARE AMAZING!! They are probably my new favorite handmade ones in Houston. Amazing. The atol de elote was also so good!! I've never had this before but apparently it is a popular drink in Guatemala that is made with puréed corn, is sweetened with some vanilla and spices. I really loved it!! The restaurant itself is really, really clean, the service is great too! It is such a great value. Before tip I think the whole thing was 22$. Wow!! Also, they have a small bakery right near the counter where you can pick out your own baked goods. Such a gem of a restaurant! Highly recommend!!

Great service & surprisingly delicious food! Highly recommended! Try the Chuchitos (tamales) con frijol y queso. It was delicious!

Very good experience! If you are looking to try something new and authentic, come here. Immediately as you walk in you can feel the authenticity by the decor and by the people that greet you. They are very amicable and inviting. We were promptly seated and provided menus and got our drink order taken while waited on the rest of our party. I ordered a Jamaica agua fresca (hibiscus) and my wife ordered an Horchata which is actually similar and very good to the mexican horchata if you've tried that before. Once the rest of our party got their, we ordered Garnachas de carne (kinda like little mini tostadas with beef and some type of slaw) which were really good! We also ordered chicken empanadas which were bomb. A little softer compared to columbian empanadas but very good. For the main dish I order the Combo Chapin which comes with some sort of skirt steak, chicken, beans, guacamole, and shrimp. All very good! Can't go wrong! My wife had the Estofado de res (beef stew) which she said was very tender and flavorful. Needless to say, everyone loved the food and service was amazing. While we were there we saw many people also come for the bakery itself so it must also be pretty good! Definitely would love to come back for some breakfast.

Accidentally stumbled in here trying to go into wingstop. I figured I'd give it a try. I do not speak Spanish and the lady taking my order spoke English very well and actually described a couple dishes for me since I didn't understand the writing. This is is a bakery, small market for essentials, Mexican medicine, and food stop. I got the breaded chicken to go and was not disappointed. The chicken was moist and the salad was fresh. Docking 1 star from the tortillas though. Although they tasted good, they were a little on the thicker side and not fully cooked in the middle. Personally not my taste but overall was a good experience.

In the…read morelast couple of years since moving from NYI, I haven't found many legit Venezuelan options until recently here at Sabor Venezolano. I'm pleased to report that the food lives up to the name and most everything was quite sabroso and very Venezuelan. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside, but seating is really limited to solo diners and small groups. There are counter seats toward the back and small cafe tables in the front. There are some refrigerated items for grab and go while ordering is done at the counter. I'd recommend calling ahead of time for faster pickup. If you're able to order in Spanish, do it. The food gets a thumbs up. Much of the menu is Venezuelan specific which includes cachapas, arepas, tumbarachos, patacondes, and tequeños. While they have a "menú Mexicano" that features quesadillas, tacos, burritos, and tortas, I'd avoid it if at all possible. The arepas might appear to be smaller, but they're packed. I personally loved their jamón y queso guayanés, in which the latter is a thick slab of gooey cheese. A similar arepa is their mechada y queso guayanés, which is equally tasty and I appreciate that they have cazón (#1) as an option. The pelua (beef + cheese) and reina (shredded chicken with avocado) will be my perpetual favorites and the cachapas with tequeños are also particularly hearty. The food is a bit pricier than most Venezuelan fare I've had previously, foodflation never surprises me anymore. Given how often I'm in the neighborhood, I already know that I'll be here more often than not. __________ (#1) Nothing like a little shark to get your day started.

Ambiance is an ethnic strip mall restaurant, with Latin flavor. Salsa music playing, people coming and going is it what is. I'm a fan.
