I hate to start off negative but we were there over an hour and a half. The service was absolutely dismal and extremely slow. Also don't expect a drink refill, to go boxes, or even your tab unless you get up and search for someone who actually worked there... My rice was hard and over cooked, the beans were watery, and it tasted like regular tomato sauce was poured over my enchalada. My tostada and taco were sitting the tomato sauce mess... making them soggy and falling apart- not exactly a pleasurable texture. Taste wise on them - they were fair...not great... My husband got a chimichanga and he said it was ok, noting that it was just meat and flour tortilla no beans or rice. Our kids got burgers despite us warning them that it's best to stick with they style of the restaurants food. One was completely smashed when they cut it in half. Both were black and over done and a dry patty mess. I would've sent them back but by that point it had been an hour and they were very hungry. I didn't want to have to stay any longer. We were not checked upon during our stay and anything we needed, we had to search out someone. We definitely won't go here again. read more

Spent 20$ on a meal To go, made me wait 30 minutes for anticipated fresh cooked food. Came back in 30 mins and picked up my food. Went home and opened food , meat in tacos were dry and you can tell they were sitting out for a while. Burrito wasn't fresh and was a mess. Do not recommend. I think this was the worst Mexican food I've had ever. Tamale was dry and masa was like course corn meal, Chili Reno was tiny and 75% of it was egg batter. Salsa was ok, chips over fried . Don't eat here if you have a option. read more

We're on our way home in LA and it's 9pm and we were hangry! We ended up taking a gamble as there aren't too many reviews on yelp...OMG...don't let that stop you!! This has been the best home cooked Mexican meal we've ever had! And we're from LA...we've had plenty of Mexican food! The sopes were absolutely amazing, the carne asada tortas were perfectly done and the camarones and steak meal was superb as well. The waitress was also amazingly friendly and hardworking. I have to write a second review. In the past year or two, I've become very focused on, and therefore very picky about, avoiding processed foods as much as possible. We would eat here on occasion, a treat after a hard day working. But as the months marched on, I just became gradually aware that....ya know what? All this stuff tastes like it came out of a can. Bag. Frozen section. Whatever....nothing tasted homemade in a place where the only thing not from scratch should have been the bag of salad mix. The rice got greasy, the beans got bland. Seasonings just don't seem to have been adjusted in most dishes. The last meal there had become so completely nondescript that my thought was "I'm kinda done with this place." There aren't many choices in Arbuckle....let's just say I went up the street and found my happiness elsewhere.... I will add in, the ambiance is nice and the family who works here polite and pleasant. The place is always clean and the decor is above average for Arbuckle....but I come to eat, not for those other things so much! read more

The food here was okay, not spectacular. Chips were hard, and the food was not what I expected. My enchiladas had a tomato sauce on top, it was kind of weird, and they served actual salad with ranch with the rice and beans, kind of weird. The server did well. Just not that great of food. read more

I'm an easy person when it comes to food. But this was horrible. The service was bad. When we walked inside here we didn't even get an acknowledgement from the people working there. We ordered our food but everything that we ordered was truly disgusting. I am sorry because food is food. But for the price your paying which is pretty expensive. The value doesn't amount to the quality of the food. I have tried many Mexican meals and this was not close to what Mexican food tastes like. ALSO, something that bothered me was that I got a taco, and in a Mexican restaurant it's common sense that your taco is a soft tortilla Mexican taco. My taco was an American hard shell taco. It's no chevys or any other chain mexican food. which I prefer to stay away from. but a family of four can get their fill four under $40.00 with tip and that is hard to do anymore! Its right off I5 and it's great food. The service is simple and the menu is complex they have very authentic food. The Chili Verde is AMAZING the pork pulls apart and melts in your mouth with a great Verde sauce that reminds me of my families. I always leave full be aide the portions are huge. read more

I always get great authentic food when I go here. I usually get a chile relleno. All of the chicken dishes I have gotten or seen other people at my table eating have been all white meat. The service is usually very good. Nice local place, not a chain. read more

First off, the salsa and chips were awful. The store bought salsa had no flavor. I had to put salt in the little black bowl myself. I then ordered the Chili Rojo (chili Colorado) and let's just say the store bought food showed up more in this entrée. Again, I had to use a condiment to uplift the flavor of the red sauce. This time I used a store bought bottle of hot sauce that was on the table. The beef was tough and cut into strips. CR or CC is usually cut into cubes for more tenderness.
