Passed by this truck on the way back from Augusta and gave it a try. OMG!! What awesome tacos!! We tried a bunch and loved them all. I waited 20 mins (went to the bar twice) for my pineapple margarita and when it arrived, it was a frozen pina colada. I swear you could fees four people with the amount of food you get with it. Plus 2 plates of lettuce, cheese, guacamole, rice and beans.... which again HUGE. Where it lacks in flavor makes up for it in portion and price point. When I initially went into the restaurant it was super crowded (its very small inside) and I looked over the menu and was shocked to see the prices the way they were. A bit high. Then I got my food. It was worth it. I paid $23.99 for my fajitas for 2 and we barely put a dent in them. The server was super friendly but at the beginning the service was slow. I understand though because it was super busy and a small crowded space makes for chaos. All in all I dont mind it and I would definitely go back. I do need to try the margaritas too!

I love their abundant meat options, which are basically any meat and style you can think of. The service is amazing. They are so nice, and when our little one was having a rough time the waitress came over and tried playing with him and helping out. Every time a server would pass by they'd stop and smile at him and you could tell he was the most popular guy in the shop. The -1 star is just for the ambiance, which is fine but nothing spectacular. Mind you, my…read morefamily and I frequently dine or order out at this restaurant very often, for lunch and the evening grill items as well. Their rib sandwiches and burgers were our favorite. So today, I ordered 3 - 10 piece wings with fries, and 2 sweet teas- total of $43.00. I live 15 - 20 minutes away. And when I opened the food, the wings were soft with white, fleshy skin- no fried appearance and why was the skin white and appearance of uncooked chicken? I called the restaurant, told them my complaint and was told to send pics to the owner. The owner wanted to see the wings- I told the truth, I gave all 24 wings to the dog and the fries bc that chicken had touched them. I asked to either refund my money or redo my order correctly. The explanation was as follows- " Our wings are not battered and then fried, they are fried plain and then sauced.. with them being to go and steaming in a box for 20 mins they are going to be softer"... Real fried wings are going to be real fried wings- even if a customer gets them 20 minutes later PERIOD!!!! I am so upset because local support and loyalty mean nothing to some folks! I attempted to post pics, but of course the platform does not accept it. I am not being ugly but when you treat loyal customers like this, you don't need our support.
Today I had the opportunity to speak with the owner of a local restaurant. I normally prefer to…read moregive people the benefit of the doubt, and my intention in this conversation was purely constructive. As a business owner myself, I believe honest feedback--when delivered respectfully can be valuable. I shared my perspective because I want to see local businesses succeed. There are several restaurants in the Edgefield area that consistently deliver quality food and service. When I dine at places like the Pool Room or Mount Vintage, I know what to expect every time. Consistency and quality matter, especially in the restaurant industry. Unfortunately, on multiple visits to this restaurant, the food quality did not meet that same standard. I expressed this not to be disrespectful, but to offer honest customer feedback. My concern was simply that continued inconsistency in food quality can negatively impact any business long-term. I truly believe this restaurant may have been excellent in the past, and I also believe it has the potential to improve. Many diners-style restaurants serve outstanding food, and there's no reason this one couldn't as well with the right focus on quality and execution. The conversation was taken differently than I intended, which is unfortunate. Constructive criticism is part of running any business--especially in an industry where customer experience is everything. My intention was never to offend, only to offer feedback that could help the business grow. I wish the owner nothing but success, and I hope the feedback is ultimately seen for what it was: an honest effort to help.

They recently got a new manager and chef who is making some very positive changes. Menu items have changed and the food quality has gotten better and better. They are expanding hours also so make sure you check on the times they are open. Also, there are times when the golf course is closed that results in The Grill closing also so I think it's a good idea to call them just to make sure they're open before traveling here. The kitchen is small, I'm told, which sometimes means the food takes a bit longer to come out but the prices are reasonable, the quality is good, and the staff are friendly. If you are a golfer, this is a great place to relax after playing a round on the beautiful Mount Vintage courses. Update: my wife, son, and I visited the Mount Vintage Grill last week after 9 holes of golf. It was around 4 PM when we sat down. Unfortunately, our son and I ordered a "dipping" sandwich off the "specials" blackboard which was supposed to come with an Au Jus dipping sauce. You probably know where I'm going with this but the sandwiches were delivered without the sauce. When asked about the sauce, we were told the chef hadn't mixed any up so there was none to be had! The sandwiches were sort of like Philly cheesesteaks and were OK by themselves but would have been much better with the sauce. Nicole, the server, didn't know there was no Au Jus made until we ordered our sandwiches. I like the Grill, and the new management is making good changes BUT this kind of event starts to turn you against any restaurant. Sorry, but don't advertise it if you don't have it.
