Oh i love the chicken place in Johnston SC i go and buy chicken about 6 times.a month

Nice hometown feel. Food was great and staff was friendly. We will be visiting often.

Cheap, hot delicious. Good place for grabbing lunch or snack, service is quick and friendly. Doesn't look like much, don't let it fool you.

Best moist chicken I've ever had with the best sauces I'm not a ranch fan I truly hate it with a passion but they really know what they're doing because this was the first time in my whole 24 years of life that I liked it needless to say they chicken is never over cooked always hot and fresh and melts in your mouth! I would also highly recommend the peach tea hood sugar to tea ratio tea is a drink of choice and passion im a tea connoisseur, if you will and it's pretty good and don't forget to grab a mason jar of dessert you can take home and enjoy and reuse the jar it's a cool little jar too! read more

Chicken Place - My order - Chicken Shop Near Me - Johnston, South Carolina

Tasty and fresh food. Good service always. Reasonable prices and decent prices. I go there often

Definitely a hidden treasure. They have by far the best chicken fingers anywhere and they are huge. The sides are fries or fried okra. They also have Philly cheese steak sandwich, hot dog, corn dog and hamburgers. We have never been disappointed with our meal from there. read more

This place is hit or miss depending on what you order. The chicken is great but the popcorn shrimp was extremely disappointing and I was shocked they didn't have cocktail sauce. Also the lady who greeted us at the drive thru window had a terrible attitude as soon as we pulled up but maybe it was just a bad day. I would still go back just definitely won't get shrimp again. read more

Stopped in for lunch this Saturday, place is very popular! Fast and friendly service; chicken was hot and crisp and tender. Coating was crispy and flaky, onion rings typical frozen variety but hot. Honey mustard sauce great! No inside seating but outside on the deck. If we come through again would definitely stop for another meal! read more

We got the 3 wing basket- chicken was cooked to perfection and had great seasoning and flavor. However-- the wings were small so order extra! The sides were in 4 oz cups and mashed potatoes were instant with instant gravy- French fries were great! read more

The outside wasn't anything fancy but the chicken and okra was some of the best I've ever had. Not to mention, the price was great too.

My family really loved the chicken from the Chicken Place! This was on a list of top SC fried chicken restaurants that we have been visiting one by one during other nearby travels and it more than lived up to its reputation. Skin was crispy and chicken juicy and perfectly cooked. Liked it so much we came back on return journey to get more. Highly recommend! read more

It's a really good place to eat and the people are really sweet and generous and when you go in there all you smell is amazing food

The last 3 times i've eaten there my food has been wrong. The night staff is lazy and rude. The night staff unhooks the phone so you can't call ahead. I've heard the night crew laugh about giving out wrong orders. However if you eat there at lunch when the owners are there the food and service are both good. read more

A meandering drive through rural SC yesterday brought me to The Chicken Place in Johnston, SC. Did not know about this place but the number of cars out front told me this was where I should have lunch. Not a fancy place, inside or out, but it's definitely worth stopping here. Great fried chicken! Tasty sides! Overheard others in line talking about how good the burgers are as well. There is no table service; you stand in line and order from the menu on the wall. You get your food from the friendly staff and then find a table. Prices are very reasonable. During my visit the line of customers dwindled to just a couple and then grew to nearly 15 in a matter of minutes. I was told, by locals, this place is always busy and I believe it. I will be back. read more

Perfect place to call in and order and pick it up. Chicken is fried perfectly. They also offer burgers and lunch plates with vegetables. Burgers and fried chicken sandwiches are cooked to order, so be a little patient. Worth the wait. Lots of fried chicken ready to go, so the wait depends upon your order. read more

Love going here I have traveled all over the world and this is the best chicken I have ever had. Puts Popeyes, Bojangles, and KFC to shame. The chicken place wins hands down to me. read more

Southern fried chicken the way its meant to be done. The chicken fingers are large and cooked from fresh. Not the most appealling physical structure, but I always get my eats to go. read more

My wife and I have traveled through Johnston for many years and never noticed the restaurant. Last Saturday we were returning from Tennessee and and there it was. We made a trip from Graniteville SC to Johnston. It was worth it. Absolutely great fried chicken! This will be a once a week trip. Great atmosphere inside thanks to the employees. Not sure when I will try something else other than the chicken. If you want real southern fried chicken this is it. read more

The food is great, if they are not out of it... The staff is horrible and rude. The owners are not good people and take advantage of their employees. read more

Very rude and the food is just "Run of the Mill" they are only able to stay in business because Johnston is such a small town and has limited places to go. After the rude treatment my family encountered today we have decided to buy a food truck and give Johnston another choice for chicken with a smile. read more
