Hmm, usually pretty good, but at times a miss for me. I'm a big fan of tongue tacos and burritos, and they happen to serve tongue, one of the few burrito joints in the area which does. Either way, tongue or steak, sometimes the burritos are perfectly seasoned, grilled, and absolutely delic, which keeps me coming back. Other times, ehh, a little dry and not very flavorful. Also, the guys at the counter tend to screw up the order on many a'times, which gets a little aggravating after a while. The owner is very cool though, a very nice man. There's some history behind the place in terms of name change (used to be an El Famous joint), their decor, etc., which is very sad, and a bit of an epic tale. read more

RIP OFF!!! OVER CHARGING!!!! If you don't speak Spanish you better pay attention. We placed order to pick up. We ordered 3 beef tacos 3 chicken tacos 3 nachos. My Blond blue eye daughter (fluent in Spanish) drove to pick up our order. She heard the greasy Hispanic guy told the cashier to charge for 5 of everything. My daughter said um no it was 3. He said to cashier that she don't understand what we are saying only hears the 5 and laughed and said to cashier do what I said. My daughter politely said back cashier do not do what he said, I am only paying for 3 of everything like my order should be. I speak Spanish nearly everyday don't try to rip me off. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas and what came out to me was: Rice in the shape of whatever utensil they used to dish it out of the pot with, refried beans, some straggly lettuce with a tomato on top, small tortillas, and chicken and peppers that looked and tasted like it came out of a frozen bag. The chicken was not fresh, it was exactly like the shaped and frozen chicken tenders that you can buy. If I wanted something out of a frozen bag, I could have made it at home without wasting my gas money to drive somewhere. My friend ordered the enchiladas, and they came out with the sauce on the top all black and burnt. The enchiladas were dried up and chewy, like they had been microwaved or something...neither one of us finished our food. We picked at it for a few minutes and decided that you live and learn! The food is like "mama" made it - very tasty, tender and lots of flavor. We like the giant burritos - steak and chicken - as a Friday night treat. We eat half and save the other half for a great Saturday breakfast. Salsas and guacamole are great, too. Thanks El Fast! read more

Ordered here from Grubhub at 7:39PM, said it would be delivered at 8:30pm, I called there at 8:53PM and they said 12 more minutes. I called back at 9:15PM and there was no answer. My food just showed up at 9:35PM. So 2 hours after I ordered my food it finally shows up. NEVER going here again! Worst service I've ever received. read more

If there was zero stars that's what I would get it !! Seriously this place it's good, but can't stand the people that work here. They're rude had brought 8 tacos told them no sour cream, get all the way home and of course theres sour cream so I go back they're getting ready to close which I don't care it's their fault in the first place. While waiting they wouldn't stop laughing and talking in Spanish there was three bags on the counter and showed me there was no sour cream in the tacos before I left... get home and checked they gave me the wrong bag and there's sour cream!! I just ate here and had to write a review. Same great food but apparently some new employees. The female employee working today seems to be there strictly for entertainment value because she certainly does no work. She does not take the orders, does not ring up the orders, nor does she clean up the tables. What she does do is follow the male employees all over the restaurant, watching them work, giggling and yelling across the restaurant to them like a school girl. A complete & total embarrassment. It is imposible to eat with her loud, obnoxious behavior & unfortunately we will not be back. read more

I've been going to this location every once in awhile for the past oh, almost 10 years. I never would've said the food was anything past 'okay' Mexican food. That changed when I went last Saturday. I got 2 steak tacos and one chicken taco. THE BEST TACOS I'VE EVER HAD. The meat had a nice flavor, the meat tasted fresh off the grill. Tacos had very generous portions. I wanted to come back for 'taco sunday' but didn't really feel like going out of my way (I live in Mt Prospect, so the one at Mt Prospect and Central is closer). HUGE MISTAKE. The one on MtP and Central is AWFUL. I never cared with it to begin with, however, once you have the Lee/Algonquin one, you will keep going back. The salsa at the DP one is amazing too. The red one I kind of had to get used to, but once you do, it pairs SO WELL with the tacos! read more

I don't know what it is about this place, but it seems that every time I come in to eat, the employees are always snappy and rude. I've only come here a handful of times but now I see that it's not a coincidence that the employees are always in a bad mood when I'm there, other friends and family that have been there think so, too. The food is cheap, but that's about the only redeeming feature of Fast Burrito. Honestly, take your money elsewhere where your business is appreciated. read more

After giving El Fast a one year break, I decided to give them another try after reading some decent reviews on this site. I won't make that mistake again. I walked in and the lone person working the counter gave me the distinct impression that I was interrupting his "me" time. I placed my order (ground beef burrito with avocado and sour cream and a large drink) to go, paid, received my order and went. When I got to my office and pulled the foil football out of the bag, I thought maybe the foil had been sitting in the grill grease as the man wrapped the burrito, because the foil was dripping with grease. Upon unwrapping the parcel I found the source of the grease fountain was inside. The tortilla was soaked through. No longer a pale, wheat tortilla, it was orange-ish brown and dripping. The filling was ripping through the soaked tortilla. I took a bite and my mouth puckered from the overwhelming saltiness. After similar experiences at El Fast Burrito in the past, I knew any complaints would be useless. I hope I have learned my lesson once and for all. NO MORE EL FAST. THEY JUST DON'T CARE. read more

I have been a customer here for as long as they have been in business and back to when they were called El Famous Burrito (for over 20 years). Sometimes the food is good and sometimes it has not been so good. Reading one of the previous reviews, I never really paid attention to the fact that they are not real friendly towards non-Spanish speaking customers, but now that you mention it, the guy never greets me but just stands there and looks at me with a stone face, then takes my order. Maybe that is why he was so extremely rude to me when I later called over the phone to complain about my order. I have never done that before, but I was very disappointed that my junior burrito had no beans on it at all. That is why I bought it instead of the usual tacos I get. He told me the cook DID put beans in it and argued with me about it and then lied and said you can't tell the beans are there because they are cooked with the meat. He refused to offer any sort of compensation without my bringing the burrito back and showing it to him. It was an hour and a half after I purchased it and I wasn't about to get dressed again and drive all the way back there, plus I was hungry and tired. I took that burrito apart and there was not one single bean to be found. He said he wasn't giving me anything for free, even when I suggested maybe half off on a junior burrito the next time. No deal without seeing it for himself and bringing the old burrito back. How foolish to lose a long-time customer over a $4.00 burrito. I am sure he doesn't care. Well, neither do I. I can go many other places. WORST customer service. read more
