El Farolio has a great atmosphere. I hate giving them 3 stars but I'm giving them such a low rating because of the horrible accident that happened right outside of it. Our car got blocked and it was a pretty scary sight. We waited for our food still and when we got our food the lady told me they didn't have ice cream sandwiches after I had ordered one. They still charged us for the sandwich but said I could get another ice cream. I got a chocolate sandwich but it was kind of icy and difficult to enjoy, especially with the surrounding wreck and aftermath. We ordered a plain mangonada and they were nice enough to put it in the freezer for us while we waited for the damaged car to move. I hope to return again on a day where there aren't any wrecks right outside.

This place has never failed me, I need to update my pictures as soon as I have the chance but let me say, the owner get their products come directly from Mexico and give that original Mexican street-food tase to it. I've never complained about the food so far besides the fact that they give you too much and it's hard for you to carry it out lol I've heard so many complaints how this place is "overpriced" but I disagree it's definitely more of "you get what you pay for" and in my case it's definitely worth it! This place is my foodie addiction and fun to hang out with friends since they have a little indoor sitting area where you can eat. I could never pass by military without buying something from here if you grew up with visiting Mexico every other summer or weeks like I do, you definitely know what the OG taste is. This place is what makes me feel homebound. The people here are also very friendly and service is quick. I've been coming here for 4 years now and they only get better!

I was just passing by this little restaurant Stand, that had and appealing outside display of fruits and ice cream's. And as I pulled up, it was also providing hamburgers and Mexican food. I tried their chicken tostada which was a mountain of food on top of the plate along with a Mexican Coca-Cola. It was very delicious with the white creama! And large slices of avocado on top. It was very filling and I will definitely return back to try some of the ice cream which everybody was tempting with. It's worth stopping if your ever on the south side , south of military on commercial .

I was there early so not too many people. Ambiance was good, not too loud or anything. I also got a Mango Chamoy Slushie which was very good, best I ever had. Actually haven't had one before then. This review is actually for about 3 weeks ago. I'm writing it now since they've earned it.

They serve a variety of burgers, sandwiches, wings, dogs, desserts, and meals include either a side of tots, fries, cucumbers with chamoy and lucas, or corn in a cup. Other sides are available as well. This trip since we craved for burgers, ordered: Bistro burger- wonderfully seasoned and cooked, served on sourdough, with avocado, grilled onions and mushrooms, mayo. One thing that should be added, the works, I felt it would be even better with the addition of lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. I ordered the cucumbers sans chamoy and lucas. I appreciate simple veggies. Mexican burger- excellent! Juicy burger with cheese, jalapenos, pico de gallo, bacon and the works. The tater tots had a nice and crispy outer texture as it should. Overall- very good. Tasty, reasonable, clean, and great service. We'll have to make sure to come back sooner!

It's been a few years since I've been by; so, I was truly looking forward to getting something. I chose The Brat & tots (plain). I was very happy with my choice. The gentleman greeted me immediately. I thought it would take me a minute, but, as I stated, I chose The Brat immediately. I'm a little high strung from my age, so people kinda chuckle. It's cute. I make me smile. They put the perfect amount of mustard on it too! See the photos, but it comes covered with cabbage & crispy fried onions. It is amazing. I was able to get a whole 1/3 of it eaten before my body shut down. Tot wise, they were hot & perfectly fried! I like to dip mine in ketchup, but they offer you various other dips as well. So, I got ranch cuz, um, of course. Also, I really like their soda brand. I can't remember it, but it's a dia de los muertos skull for the logo, but I love their roots beer, which was my beverage of choice today. It's really a nice little place to just come in & sit & enjoy a yummy hotdog alone, or with family/friends.

My partner and I went on a Sunday morning just after 11am and there were already people coming in to eat. It's popular for a reason! I've eaten here a few times and had a very consistently good time, but this review will be about my most recent visit. We visited on a rainy day, but luckily we were able to snag one of the inside tables, we ordered at the counter and our orders arrived very quickly. I got the Ratchet dog which is a beef dog with queso, hot Cheetos and fried jalapeños. Dogfather uses quality dogs and buns for all of their gourmet dogs. I found the Ratchet to be meaty, salty with just right amount of spice from the jalapeños. My partner got the Pop it like it's hot, but removed the jalapeños. This was good but lacking a bit of flavor, however she and I both agreed that was on her for taking the jalapeños off the dog. Both dogs were extremely tasty, and we devoured both. I also got an order of curly fries loaded with their chili and cheese. For me, these did not have to go as HARD as they did. The chili they are using at Dogfather is seriously good, with a slight tang and a good amount of spice. It thrills but does not take away from your meal with too much heat. Very tasty. My only feedback is that Dogfather needs a larger space! There's a good size outside seating area, but for times like today when it's raining people need some coverage. They're doing it right and the crowds want to come! As I have stated this is a local favorite. If you live nearby, make it a regular spot. If you live in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and make a trip over at least sometimes. If you like hot dogs you won't go wrong.
