We've been to many a Mexican restaurant like most. This one is not like most. They're in the zone with pricing, but menu and food quality reflect that of a higher priced menu. The menu didn't have 9000 items to choose from. It is a specially crafted menu that's delectable. This will be our go to Mexican restaurant in the Foley area. We are locals. Margaritas are amazing, atmosphere excellent, service top notch. Holly will be requested by us each time if we can. I had the El Diablo steak dinner...OUTSTANDING. My wife had the Birria Tacos. I was excited to try this new restaurant at OWA. I asked why their Grande Burrito was so expensive ($45) and they said it was 7 lbs. of course I didn't try it. I had the steak fajitas and they were really good (a little skimpy on the meat). The salsa and chips are alacart, so you have to pay for them. However, if you bought the cheese and chips, the salsa was a $1 more. The cheese and salsa was really good. Salsa was a little spicy, but I like spicy. I had Mexican rice with my fajitas, and the only complaint is that is was a little bland. Almost plain like white rice. They have outdoor seating by the water, but you can't eat out there. You can only have a drink outside by the water. They have nice comfortable chairs out there. The outside dining is in front of the restaurant. They have an outside bar (front) and an inside bar. I went on a Friday night and they had a one man band for entertainment. read more

Well - sadness for all. The quality has diminished. Our server was kind and helpful - that's some positive news. The corn tortillas in the tacos were without flavor - tasted very packaged and I didn't eat them. They stopped offering pickled veggies on the side. My dining companion's shredded taco tasted like it came from a can - chicken of the sea. And the queso was overly salty and not warm enough. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things but the meal was underwhelming. The place was nearly dead inside - and I get it. We are dismayed but now we can explore other restaurants at OWA when we visit. read more

A welcome addition to the restaurant options at OWA. Great ambiance, nice horseshoe (tequila) bar, friendly and prompt service. The salsa has a smoky flavor to it. The tortilla soup is tomato based, slight chipotle flavor with shredded chicken. The guacamole is among the best I've had. Soft drinks come in huge cups. Highly recommend a try. read more

This restaurant is slow. Slow to be seated, slow to receive our food. Chips and salsa are not standard, they have to be ordered. They also did not bring water when I orders alcohol. The queso dip was the best thing we ordered. The tacos were mediocre and the rice was very dry. The soup, pollo Azteca sopa, was decent. The building and decor is very beautiful. It has a lot of potential but definitely needs to improve the food and speed of service. read more

Ate here for lunch while at the waterpark. Restaurant at a theme Park went in with low expectations so giving it 3 stars instead of 2. No wait, waitress was friendly. Food was not good. No spice, fajita meat was dry and unseasoned. I'm not sure why these theme park restaurants can't be good. I would suggest eating a big breakfast and holding out for better when u leave. read more

Finally, something more exciting than "traditional" Mexican food. No queso here, and thank goodness! Excellent selection of Taco platters. I tried the shredded chicken and it was really good. Not authentic Mexican food at all. I can cook better at home. The salsa taste like tomatoes paste. I order a chicken fajita, more like you get a piece of chicken breast already grilled from store warm-up, stir some onion and bell pepper throw in the hot tray, cut up the breast put it on top. I ordered the fajita, didn't take any more than 3 min. Brought me the food. The waitress came by 3 times but didn't fill the water. I complained about salsa, and she smiles and walk away. read more

Absolute worst Mexican restaurant we have ever experienced in our lives. It was unanimously despised among a party of 5 adults and 4 children. You know it's not a good sign when they charge you for the chips and salsa, to start. The shrimp was absolutely inedible (believe me we all tried), and the service was sad. This is the Worst Mexican restaurant we have EVER been to and will NOT be back. The food was not good and it was cold. The cheese dip was cold and look like thick gravy. The Happy hour special was not the Happy hour price we were told it would be. Always thought you would get a basket of chips and salsa, but not here. You have to order it from the menu. Best margaritas on the Gulf Coast. Decor is awesome, everything made in house and fresh!. We had the Carne Asada and Al Pastor tacos, Yucatan Grilled Chicken and Tableside Guac. Black Beans and Cilantro lime rice were also very good. The bar atmosphere is great and we sat on the back patio afterwards to finish our cocktails. Will be back to try the flambeed Ribeye! read more
