Superior Crab is a seafood restaurant with a bit of a Mexican flair which makes sense as it is right next to Vallarta Mexican Restaurant. I'm not sure if the same people own both places but they do share a sign together and are both in the same building. I had read a menu online that apparently was no longer accurate which had indicated the burgers came with 2 sides which that is no longer the case so I got charged for my two extra sides. So I got a cheeseburger that came with their special sauce I didn't care for (I never seem to care for "special" sauces) and for the sides )I thought that came with the burger) I got a cup of seafood gumbo and mixed vegetables. I also did get a free bread pudding which was nice of them to do. The seafood gumbo was actually decent which is often NOT the case once you get outside of Louisiana although it certainly didn't quite taste like a Louisiana gumbo but it was full of shrimp. My mixed veggies were alright and a good sized portion. The burger had a smaller patty of meat and larger bun the that meat bun ratio was lacking. The flavor of the burger was on the more overcooked side to my taste and I wasn't asked how I wanted my burger cooked. My order also came with hush puppies which were actually quite nice and they had a bit of corn inside them. The fries were the biggest disappointment as they were lacking any nice crisp crunchy exterior so they could use some changes with how they are cooking those. Overall it was a mixed experience with some good and some less good. Service was friendly and took good care of me. Obviously sticking more to the seafood is probably a better idea here so I will have to make a return visit to see how one of the seafood options is. I do like to sample the burger in places that offer them though as that gives me greater insight into how the skills are in the kitchen.

This place is brand new and worth a look see. I had mahi and shrimp. There was plenty of food and it was good if a little pricey. The waiter was attentive and the food came out quickly. The decor is really nice, we were all remarking about it. I was surprised this place was here and it wasn't very full for a Friday night, so I'm hoping this review gets them some more business.

Out for family dinner with daughter and son-in-law. Superior Crab had just opened a few months and decided to try it. The restaurant was new, clean, bright and nicely decorated. The Diablo Shrimp was very hot. Enough to have a red face. Perfect. The fried shrimp had medium batter and tasted delicious. The coconut shrimp was excellent. The rib-eye was perfect. The French fries were slim with a crisp outside and soft potato on the inside with a Cajun type seasoning. Those could be eaten by themselves as a meal. The service. Well Francisco (sp) was great. He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. The price was $17- $30/ plate. We decided we will be returning. It was very good.

-waitress was very nice & helpful. -food was excellent. Tasted really great! -not overcrowded or noisy.

The service was horrible. When we entered the building we stood at the front desk for at least 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Once we were finally seated, it took another 6 minutes for someone to take our drink orders. This was NOT due to the restaurant being busy. We could see the employees were laughing and joking in the back. The menus were wet and sticky. We had to ask for another one. It was sticky as well. We finally ordered appetizers and seafood. Our seafood made it out 1st, we had to remind her that we had ordered appetizers. The food was OK. The only thing that was fresh was the stuffed jalapeños and they were actually pretty good. We ordered 2 HOT and one extra hot, it was not spicy at all. They both tasted exactly the same. The margaritas were ok. They were definitely cheap tequila. They were $20. We had to ask for drink refills twice before we received them. They were never offered. Overall the food was just ok. It was definitely a family friendly atmosphere. The tables and menus definitely need some cleaning. And as you see on the sign with the daily specials....tips are only included on "some" tabs. It was included on ours. $35 on a $200 tab for horrible service.

Best burger in Alabama. Staff is incredibly kind. One of the few places I recommend to everyone.read more

I called a buddy before dinner and told him I wanted something amazing. Not just food--something…read morethat had clearly been thought through and executed well. He rattled off a bunch of options, but none of them sounded right. I found this place on Yelp, saw the reviews, and decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. The menu is stripped down to the essentials: three burgers and three side options. Fries, onion rings, or frings. That's it. No giant menu trying to be everything to everyone. Just a team that has clearly decided to focus on doing a few things exceptionally well. The burger was outstanding. The smash patties had an incredible sear. The pickles were sliced paper thin. The lettuce was chopped instead of being a giant leaf hanging out of the bun. The sauce had a familiar Big Mac-style vibe but was clearly their own thing. Every ingredient was there for a reason. What really impressed me was the attention to detail. The temperature contrast between the hot burger and the cool toppings was perfect. The texture and layering of flavors were exactly what they should be. Somebody has spent a lot of time thinking about every component of this burger. The onion rings were hot and crispy. The fries were crispy, salty, and exactly what you want them to be. Nothing felt like an afterthought. The atmosphere fits the food. Simple, confident, and authentic. The staff had their own vibe, the place had personality, and nobody seemed interested in following trends for the sake of trends. They just make great burgers. I've already decided I'm coming back to work my way through the other two burgers on the menu. That's probably the highest compliment I can give a restaurant. If you appreciate craftsmanship and people who have truly studied their craft, this place is worth a visit.

On a recent boys day out I took a few of my Buds to check out this new addition for Arizona BBQ,…read moreyeah you read right, Arizona. Colt Grill BBQ & Spirits just opened in downtown Foley, AL, and I was curious to see how their smoked meats and Western vibe would fit in with our Southern scene. This place is a big deal for Foley, it's set up in the historic Foley Bakery building, a 100-year-old landmark that's been closed since 2007. The building, at the corner of North Alston Street and West Laurel Avenue, got a major facelift over the past year, and now it's home to this BBQ joint downstairs, with apartments and an office upstairs. Colt Grill started in Arizona, with four locations there, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Cottonwood, and Village of Oak Creek. Foley's their first venture outside Arizona, and they picked it because they loved the South's charm and Foley's small-town feel. Walking in, the place feels cozy yet upscale for a BBQ spot. The exposed brick walls and custom furniture, sourced from the owner's family of furniture builders, give it a warm, authentic vibe. Brenda Marie Clouston, the owner, has a background in interior design, and it shows. The setup is pretty unique for the area: you order at the counter, but there's a full-service bar where bartenders bring your food if you sit there. My buds and I grabbed a table, but the bar looked tempting with its lineup of bourbons and signature cocktails like the Foley Bushwacker and Colt Margarita but only one pal took advantage of the spirits. And they have happy hour :-) The menu's got all the BBQ classics, but it's not just ribs and brisket. They smoke nearly everything pork, chicken, turkey, even their mac-n-cheese over oak hardwoods. I went for the sampler platter to try a bit of everything that included baby back ribs with campfire sauce, pulled pork with Kansas City sauce, brisket, smoked turkey, and a turkey brat sausage. The meats were tender and packed with smoky flavor, and the variety of sauces let me mix it up. Classic sliced white bread was served with mine but we tried the jalapeño cornbread, which was a standout, spicy but not overwhelming. The guys got a brisket plate and a pulled pork sandwich. They liked it but I thought the brisket could have been a little moist and tender. Overall the food was good and I will return. Service was friendly, though it got a bit hectic during the lunch rush. The staff was hustling, and you could tell they're still finding their rhythm since opening in early this yesr. I liked that they give back to the community every "Cowboy Cookie" sold donates a portion to Secret Meals for Hungry Kids, a local charity. The atmosphere was lively and the Western decor made it feel like a little piece of Arizona in Alabama. Bottom line: Colt Grill's a great addition to Foley. It's not just another BBQ joint, it's got heart, history, and some seriously good food. My buds and I are already planning our next visit. If you're in the area, check it out and come hungry! I have a few faves like the cheesy mushrooms and the BBQ shrimp, and nowadaya you can't just look at the regular menu. You have to check out their daily specials board because they are constantly knocking it out of the park with creative new dishes and fresh catches. The atmosphere is just even more welcoming, but the outdoor seating is much improved with some sand and stage, perfect for enjoying the coastal breeze. They updated their operating hours too, so they are now open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM. Whether you want to escape the usual tourist trap seafood lines, watch a game on their big screens, or just grab a ice cold beer, or really strong drink, with friendly folks, this place just keeps getting better. If you haven't been by lately, you are seriously missing out. Highly recommended!!! 5/26/26

The mermaid tail was presented with everything I got except I didn't get the mermaid tail gummy/charm on my sundae, a bit odd haha. The mermaid tail was $8 but really it was beautiful! The vanilla ice cream however, was not great. It tasted like imitation vanilla, like vanilla extract. Not a fan at all. My husband got a milkshake with m&ms and gummy worms. Mix ins were great... but the ice cream again was just OFF. It didn't taste like a normal chocolate ice cream and we couldn't figure out what was off but something was. Since its establishment earlier this year Milkshake Momma is fast becoming a favorite spot for locals and tourists with their comfort food, unique atmosphere, and over-the-top milkshakes. Founded in Ladonia, Alabama, as part of the Southern Roots Country Store, Milkshake Momma has quickly gained popularity for its delicious comfort food, over-the-top milkshakes, and lively atmosphere. The restaurant's was founded by a group of friends who wanted to create a place where people of all ages could enjoy delicious treats and create fun memories.  While Milkshake Momma currently only has one location in Orange Beach, AL, the restaurant is now offering franchise opportunities to interested entrepreneurs. Milkshake Momma's menu features a wide array of unique offerings, including epic FREAK Shake milkshakes, old-fashioned milkshakes, banana splits, cones, cups, freak donuts, mini donuts, cobblers, and cheesecake and cake by the slice. Their food menu also boasts a variety of tasty options, such as burgers, hot dogs, salads, and funky fries. I've got my eye, for my next visit, on the Outlaw Chili Dog which is a hot dog, topped with mustard, house-made chili, onions, slaw, and pickles, it sounds delish. Also when I'm not being my regularly cheery self I'm coming back for a Cheer Up Buttercup, which has a  Peanut Butter Rim, Vanilla Milkshake or Sundae, Topped with Slice of Cheese Cake, Reese Cups, Reese Pieces, Pretzels Carmel and Whipped Topping, that sounds cheery :-)  I had my first Pistol Pete shake that was quite  enjoyable, and by the way they use Blue Bell Ice Cream here, and I do like their stuff.  Bottom line: Milkshake Momma Burgers and Shakes offers a fun dining experience with its unique atmosphere, delicious comfort food, and over-the-top milkshakes.
