Service is always wonderful and tonight, Rachel was no exception My meal tonight was appitizer of fresh Guacamole. Wow. It was made moments before it was served. The chips (which I'm not supposed to eat) were fresh & crispy. For my entry I got Olla de Carne. A rich Latin beef stew with generous veggies and chunks of tender stew beef. I told Rachel my mom made stews this fresh and rich but the Division Cafe's Olla de Carna became an instant favorite.

It has expanded and taken up a bit more space over the years, and the expansion is well-deserved. Featuring a Pura Vida Costa Rican flare you have a number of options available for both breakfast and lunch. I've tried quite a bit of the menu, but they are known for their tried and true empanadas. They have about half a dozen varieties and I end up getting at least one of each every time I visit. They're hot, big, flavorful, and the shell is a perfect consistency. The waitstaff is some of the friendliest around. The outdoor seating is also quite nice in the summertime alongside the pedestrian street. In terms of the menu, it's hard to say there is a standout, because I get something different each time, and I have yet to go wrong. Everything here is absolutely excellent, and I look forward to each return visit to come.

I visited La Colina last year for an event and I really enjoyed the food. I remembered they had…read moremuch of their menu marked as gluten-free, which was fabulous. I decided to return here for lunch on my fiancés birthday. I was disappointed to see they appeared to have removed majority of their gf tags. I decided to order a veggie fajita, and it was super tasty. They did have tortillas wrapped in foil on the side, so I gave them to my fiancé to eat instead. The food was flavorful and presented in an eye-catching way, so we both appreciated that. I am cursed when it comes to getting any frozen drinks, so naturally, no frozen margaritas for us because the machine wasn't working. We did enjoy our traditional margs and once again, loved how their presentation looked. I do hope they return to offering more gluten-free items like they had before, I would certainly return more often if they did.

My chicken breast was good (everything else on the plate was bland), and my daughter's green enchiladas were ok. My husband's birria quesadilla was very good according to him and my daughter. The service was awful! The waitress handed us iPad menus and never said to order on the tablet or if she was going to come back for our order. The menu is not extensive, just fyi. You can only get taco platters with all the same taco meat, not a variety. The enchiladas are also only 1 way for all three on the plate. Whatever...I can deal with that, if the food was great. It's not. The black beans were room temp with no seasoning, the corn on the cob - no salt, no butter. The guac was also bland. We were never offered water refills and she never asked us if we wanted a drink until after our meals came. We didn't, but it was said with a huge sigh and eye-roll. As a side note, this was a grown woman waiting on us, like an abuela, not a teenager. She never came back to our table, until she saw another waitress come over and bring us boxes for leftovers - that we had to go to the bar to ask for. Oh, important point - the restaurant was not busy, so she was not in the weeds. The restaurant could be an amazing spot if the service was better and they seasoned the food. It is NOT worth the money.

The owner, Carolina, was warm and charming as was the waitress, Amira, who provided great service. We started with Argentine beef empanadas as a starter. For lunch I ordered the beef milanesa platter with French fries, while my wife had the chicken milanesa sandwich. Both dishes were generous in portion and full of flavor, just the kind of hearty, home-style fare I love from Argentine cafés. We also picked up a sandwich de miga to take home--a crustless ham and cheese sandwich that was simple, delicate, and satisfying. I'd rate both the meal and the sandwich an easy 8 out of 10. The café itself has a welcoming, local feel, and visiting on a weekday kept things peaceful. I learned they offer fresh Argentine pastries on weekends, which sounds like a perfect reason for a return visit soon. Patria Station Café is a great spot for authentic flavors, big portions, and a pleasant, laid-back experience.
