El Corralito is an absolute gem tucked in the heart of Ensenada's busiest strip. Yes, you're right in the middle of the action. We started outside to soak up the energy, but between the vendors, mariachi bands, and constant interruptions, we moved inside. Inside , the walls are covered in dollar bills with handwritten messages. The colorful artwork, warm atmosphere, and cozy vibe made it feel like an authentic experience I ordered the chicken enchiladas and they were incredible as they were stuffed with perfectly tender chicken wrapped in soft tortillas, smothered in a rich, flavorful sc sauce. Every bite was savory. We had a one-year-old with us (who had no intention of sitting still), and to our relief, there was a cozy little play area set up in the corner. It was a small touch, but one that made a huge difference. Service is great. Friendly, attentive, bilingual. The server made us feel right at home and made everything easy. TLDR: If you're in Ensenada and craving an authentic, flavorful, and family-friendly meal , this meets your needs!
We stopped in Ensenada on from our Princess cruise ship. We read ahead of time that we need to try the local taco scene. I love me some good tacos! So we stopped here on the suggestion from a local shop owner. I ordered a Carnitas and Shrimp taco, Hubby ordered Chicken and Shrimp. We shared a Chicken Quesotaco, Guacamole and salsa. By far the guacamole and shrimp tacos were the stars of this meal! The shrimp tacos came with fajita vegetables, they were absolutely delicious! We both ordered flour tortillas and were happy they were fresh and yummy. The salsa was pretty spicy so I had it all to myself. Before our meal we were serenaded by a guitar player that stopped by our table. (Of course we tipped him $5). He let me choose a happy song or a romantic one, we chose happy! He was really good. Just note the guac and salsa came out fast. Our drinks took a little longer but the food was obviously freshly prepared so it takes a bit longer to come out. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get back to your ship. It's really close to the shuttle bus parked near McDonald's. Definitely check out this place! They have a large menu and you'll definitely find something you love!
This place rocked. Amazing and massive tacos, great chips, spicy salsa, best beans I've ever had. Eat here you Won't be disappointed. Staff is great and food was beyond amazing.
One of my favorite places to visit when we go to Ensenada. Rather it be taking a cruise or driving from San Diego. Ask for Lee the amazing bartender he always makes the best drinks no matter what it is, and takes cares of all the guests. The service there is top notch the servers are fast and friendly. The bar is covered with dollars everywhere so when you go leave a memory as them for a sharpie and tape and place a dollar anywhere. I wish I could give this place more stars, go visit if you are in town.
El Corralito boasts a delightful local vibe that we absolutely adore. The bartenders and servers are always incredibly friendly, and their margaritas are simply the best! The food is delicious, and the homemade salsa packs a spicy punch. They even serve their own local brew, Cerveza Corralito! It's a fun and relaxing spot where you'll encounter both locals and tourists enjoying the atmosphere. And if you'd like to be serenaded by talented musicians, don't forget to show your appreciation with a tip for the cantadores! Arrrrribbbbbbaaaaa!!!
The outdoor seating a good. Clean and not noisy like some of the other restaurants in downtown. Our server was very polite and accommodating and didn't care that my nephew had a Coke from McDonald's. The food, I have been here a couple times when taking the Carnival Cruise to Ensenada. It's a good place to grab local tacos. I like Asada, pastor, and carnitas tacos here. It's my must stop.

I've been to Ensenada for years and years and have walked by this place many times. I feel dumb now for not stopping here and enjoying the food and drinks. The margaritas are amazing. My girlfriend says they're some of the best she's ever had, she's an expert. The margaritas are made fresh, not with a high sugar pre mix. Excellent. The salsa that comes with the chips is spicy, be aware of that. I like clean restrooms and these restrooms were spotless and smelled good. The inside is covered with dollar bills, the walls outside are covered in stickers, very cool. The food was amazing. We had the beef Mocaljete. It's big enough to share and the dish it came in kept it hot over the 30 minutes we took to eat it. It was huge and we couldn't finish it. We will be back here again and again.
I came for a drink while walking through town. There are dollar bills that around the venue. They have bar food and drinks. I had a Cadillac margarita per the waiter's suggestion. It definitely could have been better. It tasted as if I was drinking juice. I don't think there was any alcohol at all. Service was fine.
Okay- I just loved the vibe, loved the little patio, my photos turned out great with all the dollar bills in the background. Service was excellent, my Paloma gave me a little buzz, the Torta carnita sandwich was the best ever! Massive! Enough for both of us. Great chips, good salsa, yummy guacamole!
This place was recommended by our Royal Caribbean Cruise shuttle attendant. It's a short 7 minute walk from the cruise shuttle drop off area in downtown Ensenada. It's known for its fish and shrimp tacos. However, they didn't have fish or carne asada tacos on a Sunday afternoon, which was disappointing. Our group ordered shrimp tacos, chilaquiles, and a mixed molcajete (chicken, steak, shrimp), and all the dishes were great. The Cadillac and mango margaritas were refreshing and delicious. Our server spoke English and took our order quickly, though it did take some time for our alcoholic drinks to arrive at the table. Nonetheless, they were worth the wait. The total for 8 people was $155.00 USD. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was efficient, and the ambiance was pleasant. I would recommend giving El Corralito a try, especially if you're a fan of shrimp tacos and delicious margaritas.
The place is clean and offers a full bar plus restaurant. You can dine indoors or be seated outside. We did not come here to eat, so we sat at the bar. I did not want to drink so I ordered a Diet Coke. What makes this bar unique is its money decor. The bills you see are real and depending on where and what the patrons wrote on it, you can have a laugh or be puzzled by it. I was able to go behind the counter (where the bar is) to place the dollar bill on the counter. Hope in 3-5yrs when we return, we will be able to see it there. Great service! I'll try the food next time.

Fun place with a nice bar and outdoor seating ... loved the rice and quesadilla and the Guacamole is made fresh and is delicious ! The salsa is not for light weights muy caliante!!! Bring some dollars so you can leave a memento of your visit ... clean bathrooms and they even provide toilet covers !!! Yay read more

Wow, this is hands down the BEST brunch spot in all of Ensenada. I've had chilaquiles from all over the world, and these are by far the closest to my mom's recipe. (Authentic Mexican chilaquiles) I added scrambled eggs to my chilaquiles and my boyfriend had the salmon omelette with veggies. Both were very delicious! We also tried the green juice. Very yummy! The ambiance was very cute with all the Vines and greenery. The live acoustic music was also a romantic touch. read more

Our second time in. The first time out of convenience because they allowed the dogs, have an outdoor area like a train caboose, on the side of the street, and are super covid safe. They even have a decontamination booth! But the main thing is, the food is excellent, the drinks are affordable, the service is good too, especially upon return. Return customers are valued in Ensenada!! I had the shrimp wrapped in bacon with a mushroom gravy on top, over a white rice pilaf. And a sangria. My partner had green enchiladas and a pina colada. The salad was dead, full of black salad boogers and not edible, but everything else delicious. read more

On the Main tourist street in Ensenada, this place attracts you with its 80's music and outdoor seating area. The wait staff is every accommodating and the drinks are delicious and a good prelude to the food. The camarones a la diabla are unlike any I've had in the States, with a white sauce instead of red. However, the kick is at least double the spice of US restaurants and the shrimp are super fresh. My dish cost about US$9.00 which is half of what you'd pay stateside. It was located within the shopping and tourist area so it served as a nice break for us and allowed for some respite from the continuous haggling and onslaught of tourists hurrying to buy as much as they could while their cruise ship is docked nearby. The tacos were also on the larger side, nearly double the size of King Taco tacos for less $$. And the carne asada quesadilla was so big, we had to bring some home (it made a great late afternoon snack at the beach). Unfortunately, they don't have a dance floor at night, but the food, good music and drinks are sure to bring you back, no matter what time of day. read more

This was by far the SLOWEST service I've ever had. Restaurant completely empty, and the food took over an hour to be made. Do not go here as a cruise-goer as you will waste all of your time waiting on the terrible service at this restaurant. To wait 1.5 hours for this food... a massive disappointment. Good food great service. Our waiter, I'll call him the guacamole ninja was amazing. He spoke perfect english and never let us run out of guac. Every time we were about to finish the last bit of guac, a new bowl of guac and chips appeared before us out of no where. I see him running back and forth, but never got a moment to ask for more guac. The food is awesome. The guac is so addicting, it was hard to have room to try anything else, but glad we did. We ordered a variety of food, cerviche, mocajete, grilled shrimps, pina coladas. The foods were overall pretty good. Value overall is pretty good. For about $70/us, the four of us were so stuffed we skipped dinner. We probably bought enough to feed 8 people. You definately can't go wrong here. read more

Our tequila tour guide recommended this place and hands down it was a great recommendation. You get a good portion of food that taste great. Went with four dudes total, we all had the three tacos plates which included rice and beans, three soft drinks, one beer, chips and salsa, and an appetizer. All of it was around $37. Not bad at all great value and great food. read more
This fun-loving restaurant was recommended to us by our excursion tour guide for their margaritas. They even personally dropped us off in front of the restaurant too! Upon entering, we were offered the margaritas immediately. They came in huge king-size goblets. It's very refreshing and tasty, but I found it to be light in alcohol as in I had two goblets by myself and felt nothing --not even a buzz; but hey, at least they were only ~$4 each! As for food, I ordered the Shimp Ceviche and 4 tacos ($1.50 each): pork, beef, shrimp, and fish. Except they were short one taco for my order and I accidently asked for an extra shrimp instead of the fish that was missing. The waiter was great about correcting all of our orders as we were a huge part of 9. I ended up trying my friend's fish taco, which would be the better choice. Their tacos were only okay as it was pretty stale and bland, but I have to give it up to them for their wonderful service. I was absolutely stuffed with the addition of the chips and salsa they provided. Food and drinks were okay, but service was great. I definitely miss the taco stand we tried earlier between Av Alvarado and Ave Adolfo Lopez Mateos in Ensenada. There's also people constantly trying to sell you things as you're eating since it's situated in such a busy part of town. read more
Son and I ate here upon the recommendation of our taxi driver. The place is right in the middle of the downtown market area. We had two HUGE meat burritos (asada and carnitas). They were very good! Our waiter spoke great English. The most awesome thing was when the bill came....$20 total for the burritos, two beers and two sodas. I'm not sure how "authentic" this place is, but it was perfect for what we were looking for. Only negative is all the street vendors coming by trying to sell crap. read more

First time in Ensenada & tried this cute little place out & OMG the food was soooo good ! One of the best food places I've been too. Got a michelada too & it was bomb !! Our waiter i believe his name was ( Jose ) was also amazing . Will definitely come here again when I'm out in Ensenada read more

Was in downtown Ensenada with a group of friends and got some recommendations from street vendors to try El Corralito. The food was decent (I got a vegetarian burrito) but the decor and the atmosphere is what draws most people to this place. The burrito was open ended, which was not what I expected, but it was still pretty good. In short, it's a Mexican restaurant that caters to tourists, so while it isn't exactly authentic Mexican, it's a safe bet to get some good food. Nice open place If you have children, there is an open playground right next to the table you have you kids steps away from you. Do order the Machaca plate, The spinach omelette Don't order he oatmeal pancakes Don't order the Chilaquiles with Chipotle sauce, the sauce is thick and they will become soggy very fast. Overall this place was good. Service was great, sorry can't recall the name of our waiter. But he was really good. If you looking for a place that isn't blaring music; but, still has music in the background - this is the place. Food is tailored for Americans, that want Mexican food; but, want to play it safe. I can honesty this wasn't authentic Mexican food; but, again it was good and it's a good family place too. They have burgers and fries for the kids. Food portions were good size and appropriately priced. I had the fajitas, sautéed with onions with guacamole and beans. My husband had the #2 Combination plate with carnitas. (Taco, tostada and sope). My older daughter had the shrimp on the parrilla and my younger daughter had the Al pastor quesadilla. All the food was good, we didn't order any adult beverages; but, man the table next to us did and you could swim in their margarita glass. Obviously there are a lot of places to choose in Ensenada, but, I would recommend this place. Our total bill for all the meals (4 of us) 5 sodas, 2 mineral waters, guacamole appetizer and tip was $52. Provecho!! read more

El Corralito is a great place to have food when you're coming into Ensenada late at night. Located close to Avenida Miramar, this restaurant is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The inside of the bar reminds me of Sharkeez bar in Hermosa Beach before it burned down. The walls are plastered with many miscellaneous decorations, most prominently US dollar bills pasted on the walls and written on by tourists. The seating is ample inside, and there is a patio section as well. The restrooms are ok. This restaurant has a limited bar, and plenty of TVs to watch sports. The food here is pretty good, and comes in good portions. I usually get the chicken and beef fajitas. Let me tell you, the fajita plates are huge! They come with a side of tortillas, and you get chips and salsa as an appetizer. I pair my meal with a coca-cola, or a bottle of water. The surrounding area is pretty cool during the day. There are numerous other restaurants and many stores to buy mementos. The bay is walking distance, and it makes for a relaxing getaway. At night, it is a whole different story. Be careful of the characters that roam nearby Avenida Miramar. On the weekends, the police are in full force to keep the tourist area safe. On the weekdays, the police force is not as numerous. Just use common sense, and you'll be fine. So there you have it. Whether you're coming or going in the morning, afternoon, or evening, come and enjoy El Corralito. Walking around town and walked by this place. Stopped in to check it out. Got a few beers with some friends. Saw a display of cakes. Looked good and decide to give them a try. The waiter said they don't make the cakes in house but that is okay. I decided get the chocolate cake a try. Took the first bite. Bloom my mind. Would recommended the chocolate cake. read more

Our server was very nice and attentive even helped split the bill since only one card is accepted. I had the shrimp ceviche. It didn't seem like ceviche though, it was more of a shrimp cocktail, it was good though. Only thing is that it took long to get it. My order was the last to come out but it was fresh,maybe they went and bought shrimp. I don't know because it really took a while everyone was almost half way done with their food. I also got the Cadillac Margarita nothing super special in my opinion but still ok. The guacamole was a good starter with the chips and salsa though. Hubby got the Nachos Mexicanos, he thought they were pretty good, he didn't even share lol. There are plenty of choices on the menu and some good combos which some of the other people with us got and seemed happy with. read more

The food and service is meh. There are random people trying to sell you things and sing music and I enjoyed that quite a bit actually. However the actual restaurant staff is super rude. The waiter was like giving my dad an attitude and refusing to help us when we needed an extra bowl. The food also took forever and they forgot my taco for such a long time even though we asked twice. It's clearly a touristy restaurant which is fine but the service is meh. read more
