I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without exaggeration, they were the best I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the balance of textures throughout the dish was incredible. Every bite had the perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and toppings. Nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. It was one of those meals where you find yourself slowing down just to enjoy every bite. Even the water deserves a mention. It was clean, crisp, and refreshing. If it came straight from the tap, I would have never known. It's a small detail, but it speaks to the overall dining experience when even something as simple as water stands out. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.

They said they were pizza (made sense since it was NYE) and I waited to pick it up. Now, I'm born and raised in the Bx, NY. Home of the best pizza in the world. The pizza here at Palermo's is good. Too thick for me; but they have a nice flavor profile in the sauce. I'm sure the pie is even better fresh out of the oven. The cheese lovers calzone tasted even better. My only issue with that, was the crust was too thin. They mixed the two up. Haha. They could have put two containers of sauce in the box with the calzone so if you order it to take home ask for the extra sauce. I look forward to going back and dining in. Eating the pie fresh out of the oven and some of their other dishes as well. Definitely recommend.

Fortunately, our grandson had a soccer game in LaGrange and that put us right where we needed to be. First impression? Waite staff was wearing white shirts and black slacks. This ain't Fazoli's. Our waiter, Robert, took our drink order and brought us freshly backed cheese bread served with a side of marinara. The bread was excellent (almost too good) and the marinara was full flavored without the heavy sweetness so many sauces rely on. My wife ordered cheese ravioli and I went with an Italian meatball calzone. Both dishes were beautifully plated. The Stromboli was almost intimidating, so I immediately split it in two knowing half was heading home. My wife couldn't finish her serving of ravioli. The ravioli was well filled and the sauce was outstanding. My Stromboli was heavy on the melted cheese to the point it was difficult to find the meatballs. But what really stood out, aside from flavor and sauce (on the side) was the dough. Light, just the right amount of crisp without reminding you of a burnt pizza crust. Service was outstanding. Robert was attentive without being obtrusive. Pricing is reasonable, with a nice mix of prices for any budget. Palermo's is upscale dining at modest prices and well worth a visit.

Sam's has appetizers, sandwiches/Poboys, seafood, chicken, sides and more. We ordered an appetizer sampler with jalapeño poppers and fried mushrooms. We also ordered #33 to share, which had 3 catfish filets, 3 shrimp, 2 crab cakes, 2 little hushpuppies and 2 sides ,which we had green beans and fries. It was all good including the special sauce. I also ordered an apple pie to go. I noticed people were in the drive through, some ordered to go and 5 parties sitting in the dining area before we left around 3pm. We did wait a few minutes for our meal, but it was well worth it to have it steaming hot. This is counter-order and wait at your table. Several carry-outs while we were there. Courtney was working the counter and brought us our food. Everyone was friendly and we felt welcome.

I heard there used to be an actual dock here for boats on the Ohio could pull up. It is a decent outside sitting area as well as big interior. They sell food, non alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, ice cream and food. They had a country style singer Chris Bell ( I think he's local boy ). In my opinion he is very good and has his own distinct voice. We really liked the no frills atmosphere and staff were always pleasant and ready to answer any questions you might have. Food and beverage are typically priced the same or in order with other locations. We had eaten before we found this place but next time back we will test the food. The wings l looked good and the fish looked like a staple for locals. Many were there to listen to Chris and have some food and a few libations while enjoying the singer. We noticed that they had list of entertainment for the next few days. This location has a beautiful view of the Ohio River especially for sunset pictures. It is located off the beaten path somewhat but pristine in ambiance. Look forward to coming back again for some food. Some don't care for the "place order for food and come back and pick up when ready" but that is just its original style and format. People were all friendly! Can't wait to go back!

Upstairs, we had amazing service also. I ordered a cocktail that they had on the downstairs menu, and not the regular menu. It did not faze our server. He said he would figure it out- and he did! After a round of drinks, we stayed with appetizers: meatballs, fritto misto, piatto di frutti di mare and the crab cake. Everything was devoured. I loved the crab cake and the meatballs. The fried calamari was pretty standard and the cold seafood platter was fine- I had an oyster off of it. For dinner, I had the "Pappardelle" : short rib ragu alla bolognese, grano padano, and added two seared scallops. Wow. The pasta is homemade. It was phenomenal. My husband had the "Maiale" : 16oz pork chop, cauliflower puree, chard, stone fruit, bourbon glaze. It was a large portion and cooked perfectly. So good. Our friends had steaks and sides, so I was able to try the Mac and cheese- which did not get congealed! The corn was delicious and the mushrooms were a variety. Of course we had dessert. I asked for cannoli and they had it! They weee not soggy. I had three different favors. I love cannoli. These were really good. We also shared the millionaire's tart and some sort of apple crumble with ice cream. Yum. We had more round of drinks throughout including some fun ones - see the treasure chest video. I would recommend this place. They have a great menu. Drinks were awesome. Service topped everything. They went out of their way for us multiple times. Thanks so much. We can't wait to come back again.

However, the older man at the cash register (perhaps the…read moreowner?) overcharged me for everything, and when I pointed it out to him (at first I thought it must be an accident), he threw dollar bills at me while hollering that he knows how to run a restaurant. Well, maybe that's true because most restaurants fail and this one has been around for a while, but maybe it's because they're overcharging their customers instead of increasing their prices on the menu, and hoping the customers don't notice. I've never been so nickeled and dimed at a restaurant! I was so insulted that I handed his few dollar bills back to him and said I just wanted him to be transparent about what he was going to charge me, before he charged me! I asked for a Tilapia sandwich (menu price $8.95) and a Haddock sandwich combo (menu price $13.95 for the sandwich + cole slaw + fries). I asked if the sandwich came with anything on it, and he said no, but he could add pickle slices. He didn't tell me about an upcharge. I asked if I could substitute the fries in the combo for fried mushrooms. He said yes, but there would be a slight difference in price. I said that would be fine because the side items showed it was only a $0.45 difference in price (on the menu, french fries are $3.50 and fried mushrooms are $3.95). I asked if I could pay with credit card, and he said yes, but didn't mention a card fee. What I thought I would be charged: $8.95 + $13.95 + $0.45 = $23.35 + 6% tax = $24.71 total. Instead I was charged $30. When I asked him about it he said there was a $1 credit card fee that he had neglected to tell me about prior, and that instead of charging me for the difference between the price of the fries and mushrooms, he rang each item up separately instead of ringing it up as a combo (first of all, why would he do that??? and second of all, why wouldn't he tell me he was going to do that???). Then he told me he also charged me for the 5 skinny quarter-sized slices of bright green pickles you get from the jar. When I said, "you charged me for pickles?" He said, "of course I charged you for pickles!" So he charged me $8.95 tilapia sandwich + $9.95 haddock sandwich + $2.50 cole slaw + $3.95 mushrooms + $2.00 pickles (TWO DOLLARS FOR 5 SKINNY QUARTER SIZED PICKLE SLICES) + 6% tax + $1 credit card fee = $29.99 (AND OF COURSE HE DIDN'T GIVE ME THE PENNY NOR ASK IF I WANTED TO KEEP THE PENNY; HE KEPT THE PENNY FOR HIMSELF AND CHARGED ME THIRTY WHOLE DOLLARS FOR A $24.71 MEAL).Which isn't a big difference, but in this economy, adds up, and the LEAST they can do is be TRANSPARENT ABOUT WHAT THEY'RE GONNA CHARGE YOU. AND THEN WHEN YOU NOTICE THE DISCREPANCY AND KINDLY & CALMLY ASK IF THEY MADE A MISTAKE, THEY SHOULDN'T GET DEFENSIVE, RAISE THEIR VOICE AT YOU, AND THROW DOLLARS AT YOU IN FRONT OF A LINE OF CUSTOMERS. This was my first time here and I was excited to go back and try everything else. Instead, I'm never going back and I'm telling everyone I know.
