Great starter fresh quacamole

Went there because of Yelp and it was no disappointment. Such a nice small place on a corner with view of the lake. The food was very nice and the service friendly and very fast. We highly recommend stopping here.

Walking distance from Coba main entrance. We were here during the off season in early November on a cloudy, rainy day so there were hardly any tourists. In fact we were the only patrons at the restaurant which usually is a bad sign but understandable. However after spending over three hours walking the ruins we were ravenous. The service was excellent and our waiter was very nice and super attentive. The food was good, as well as the pricing and portions.

Such lovely staff and wonderful food. It's just outside of the gate to the pyramids but way better than the restaurants inside. Had tacos, panuchos, And sopa Azteca. All were really good, and yes, soup in 90 degree heat was amazing. Highly recommend, and the licuados we're huge.

Great find right after visiting the ruins at Coba! We had fabulous drinks...think pina colada, iced banana milk, pineapple orange with strawberry! Next we tried their two Mayan dishes (see pics) tender meat with tortillas, rice beans and veggies. Worth the stop!!

This restaurant is located behind the entrance gates for the Coba ruins (sorry, yelp, for reporting…read morethe place closed, but the location doesn't match up with the yelp map). It is a big, two storied facility that faces the lake, and the huge parking lot makes it popular with tour groups and daytrippers. They have a full bar and serve dinner, unlike most of the other places in town, which have no alcohol and are often only open until 6pm. They have a buffet, but we ordered a la carte. Food was served up quickly. The food was pretty good but definitely not as good as the other places we tried in Coba. Prices were slightly higher than at the little places outside of the gates. But the place definitely felt clean, and if you want servers who speak English (or even French or German), this place is your place. We had the guacamole, which was very good but not as good as other places in Coba. My husband had the quesadillas, which were really big. My kids had kid meal things. I had the roast pork, which was well-seasoned. It came with a small amount of rice and beans, which were fine. The beers are served ice cold, which is nice after hiking around the ruins.

Located just outside Coba Archaeological Park, this open air covered restaurant has a large menu…read moreand pretty quick service. We had an order of chicken enchiladas in a Verde sauce. This was good. A lot of cheese but it was fresh and not oily at all. The spaghetti with meat sauce was a little bland but good just the same. We also had a fresh fish dish that was good. Not sure what kind of fish it was. This is a good option when visiting Coba if you check out the ruins, eat, then drive on to the cenotes or back toward Tulum.

My husband got sirloin tacos off the rotisserie. I got a pollo plate. So good! We also added on guac, chips and a potato taco. Everything was great. Will come again. No gimmicks, just seriously good tacos. The tacos were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and served hot and fresh every time. You can taste the quality and the technique especially in the way the meat is cooked and carved. Everything felt simple but done right, which honestly is what makes a taco stand out. The atmosphere is lively and busy (for good reason), but service moves quickly and efficiently. It feels like the kind of place locals actually eat at, not just a tourist trap with hype. We fully intended to try different taco spots around Playa del Carmen... but after our first visit, we couldn't resist coming back. When a place makes you change your food itinerary, you know it's worth it. If you're in Playa and debating whether it lives up to the hype it does!!

Did the 4 in 1 tour with 13 Baktun tours and stopped here for the lunch buffet. I'll be honest, I…read morehad taken two tours with different tour companies days prior and when the tour guide announced we would be having cochinita pibil for lunch I was like, "Not again!" I had just eaten this the day before on another tour to Chichen-Itza and wasn't a fan, but the food here was by far the best food I had on a tour. The cochinita pibil was flavorful and juicy as was the shredded beef. I had a large glass of tamarindo to wash it all down and it was just the perfect lunch after a long, humid, hot hike around Tulum. They also had fresh, home made tortillas which made the meal. I also tried the chicken that was cooked in banana leaves underground which the first few bites tasted great because it had that distinct cooked in banana leaves taste, but then it was meh. The place was clean and immaculate, the staff were so attentive and the view of the lagoon was blocked by a few buses but still spectacular and unique none the less. I loved the atmosphere and all the colors and art inside.

The restaurant was a popular stop for excursions. The building was large with tons of seating but…read morethey were at capacity. Although covered with a roof, it's walls are open so you can look out across the lagoon (or so they advertise). In theory, we viewed a bunch of tour buses and vans blocking the parking lot (& any view behind it including the lagoon which is across the road). The food is served buffet style. The buffet itself was well maintained, refilled frequently & clean. I personally loved the Mayan style carnitas (shredded pork). The chicken legs were authentically wrapped & cooked in banana leaves. While the chicken was fall off the bone tender and moist, it was seasoned like fish. Many people raved about it but I disliked the flavor so much I pawned it onto my husband. He practically sucked the bones dry. It's worth noting, I don't care for fish & I couldn't get past the flavor association. The rice was excellent but beans were so runny I wasn't convinced many beans existed, lots of bean oil/ broth. I was most disappointed they lacked the "home-made corn tortillas" advertised everywhere. It was what I was most looking to. Not a single tortilla was made so we all ate meat plain off the plate rather than as tacos. (Only thing not stocked). The flan & candied papayas were decent. There were a handful of fresh fruits (pineapple, watermelon) and salads (pastas, beets) available too. I enjoyed the salsa but many others found it too spicy. The amount, selection & quality of food was easily worth the price paid, but don't expect everything as glamorously as all the tours market it. 2-3 bottled beer (cervesa) brands were available (I remember SOL & XX Dos Equis specifically) as well as tequila and soft drinks. 1 beer or soft drink was provided in the meal and additional were a la carte. You were required to walk up to the bar to order beverages. We discovered the service lacked there but dishes were cleared quickly and tables turned over in an efficient manor for the next groups. Also worth noting stray dogs were roaming through the restaurant and begging for food. Common, but those who haven't seen it may be shocked initially. Several in our tour group were bothered by it. And the toilets. I'm happy they had plumbing and soap and running water but there are no seats on the toilet. Also common. Be prepared to squat.
