I love every salsa they have and sometimes they make some specialty salsas too. My favorite things are loaded veggie fries or veggie sopes. The food is consistently excellent, and it's easy to see why there's always a steady line of customers. The tortillas are made fresh by hand, and the birria always tastes like it was prepared that day. While it can take a little time to receive your order, that's part of what makes the food so good--you can tell everything is made fresh rather than sitting under a heat lamp. We've tried a variety of menu items over the years, including the asada tacos, goat birria, beef birria, birria ramen, and even the chicken quesadillas . Everything we've ordered has been flavorful and well-prepared. They recently started offering aguas frescas, which are delicious and pair perfectly with the food. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they're generous with the salsas, letting you choose whichever sauces you prefer with your tacos. Don't skip dessert, either. We recently tried the gelatin dessert they started selling, and it was surprisingly delicious. Great food, fair prices, friendly service, and consistently fresh ingredients. We highly recommend La Autentica Birrieria and will continue coming back weekend after weekend.

Each taco is on 2 tortillas. I would eat with one and let meat fall onto the second. Nice that I didn't have to scoop it all up with my fingers to clean my plate. The carne asada had a nice smoky flavor reminiscent of the flavor of a Tacos El Gordo taco. Taco craving satisfied.

Neither meat had much bbq sauce and both were overly salty, potato salad side was garbage, beans were decent, but I was just disappointed by the experience. I recently enjoyed multiple flights of beers at Lawless Brewing Co. when I saw Burrito 88 Food Truck as the day's food option and needed something other than alcohol to fill my belly. Prior to these COVID-19 times, I frequently attended, worked, or volunteered at the myriad of year-around events throughout Southern California, yet this was the first time I've ever seen this road restaurant and had to try them out. With a name seemingly an ode to a favorite Asian restaurant of mine growing up (Gourmet 88), would I also reflect upon them as warmly!? QUICK BIO "Coming onto the scene during the COVID-19 pandemic, Burrito 88 is a Los Angeles food truck serving hearty Mexican, Latin, and Spanish food through a concise menu." PURCHASE Steak and Chicken Street Tacos ($2.00 x2): Simple tacos stuffed with their respective flavorful meats lightly decorated with a smattering of colorful vegetables on warm yellow corn tortillas, this was all one truly needed any time of day but especially at a brewery. Plus, the price was very comparable to my favorite local Mexican food stand in my hipster hood - yummy https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=QMbnSBIOtfP9MMFNLhJunw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! The Cali Special ($13.00): This burrito was loaded with steak, beans, rice, fries, cheese, salsa, pico de gallo jalapeños, and Spanish aioli, the fries completely through me off and felt this was more like a Greek gyro (which I also loved) but closed and wrapped up for easier eating. Even the way the juices trickled down my wrist reminded me of one of my favorite Greek dishes. The abundance of ingredients was great, but I started wishing this had lamb instead of steak and then simply rename it "The Greek Special" (maybe consider this option to the menu). This was a very good burrito, but make sure to thoroughly read the ingredients first https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Y-88j4U9FkR2hwftAFQEHw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE I was greeted by a young man who quickly took my food order, and about ten minutes later the same person delivered my meal! Easy, efficient, and friendly - all good! PARKING (FREE) Being a food truck, they were at the beck and call wherever they were serving food. I drove myself since I was specifically in the area for the latest brewery in town. Otherwise, the venue was at Lawless Brewing Co. which had their own private lot and plenty of surrounding free timed parking on the main drag of Craner Ave. and around the neighborhood (please read all posted street signs). Another option was to hire a driving service like a taxi, Lyft, or Uber. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Your standard self-sufficient food truck with exterior menus, order and pick up windows, but currently there were no areas for condiments, napkins, utensils, or seating. Natural lighting was prevalent during the daytime while electric street and truck lighting glowed at night. There were no TVs while background music came from a nearby brewery. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=NFvQgubt270CnE0Hf6wM3w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Burrito 88 Food Truck was nice albeit a very limited menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=0aDlxqKHRBs9IkIMImFOeA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and always loved to support the food truck industry (although I rarely ate red meat which was mainly on their menu) but didn't have any drinks which wasn't a concern this time around. The prices were food truck standard so no deals here. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $17.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS
