Fresh Mex Salad with Shrimp and Shredded Chicken

Directly across from the tattoo studio I was getting work done at....the music and aroma from the food was calling me. I had a two hour wait til my appointment time anyways. I wasn't about to venture far in 6 inch heels so why not take a seat close by. I'm glad I did! I starting eating so quick I half heartedly took pictures for you guys ;) When you check in here, you get a Chef's pick for free. My son chose the Queso Fundido and added Carne Asada. Chips with Salsa Verde and Tomato Salsa are complimentary. I ordered the Fresh Mex Salad with a avocado vinaigrette dressing minus the Corn with Shrimp and Shredded Chicken. The shredded chicken wasn't my favorite because it was like a sweet barbecue shredded chicken. There's not a lot of teas, and non alcoholic beverages here at least that's what I was told :( I was driving too far so I couldn't risk it. But I really love the atmosphere. They have tv screens everywhere. Cigarette machine on back patio. Small dance area. Fights are shown here. DJs are requested here. I would love to come back just to dance and look at all the beautiful people on Friday and Saturday night.

The food was really good! We went at happy hour for margs and they were okay. We got the loaded fries and the nachos and both were on the happy hour menu. The fries were amazing. The service was awful. We were there between 4 and 5 and the restaurant was not full at all. We were frequently having to waive down the waitress.

FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: bottle service/drinks! A great staple on 7th street to complete your bar hop stops. I love this place because they make the best paletta shots! THE VIBE: very colorful, lowkey rockstar vibes, pink heavy. Attracts a Latin crowd but I love going here because vibes are always lit and they play music from all genres. Definitely gives a more club vibe than bar but it's technically a lit bar/restaurant. PRICE: gifted WOULD I COME BACK? Yes. **** Overall Rating: 8.5/10 - One of my favorite bars on 7th street, @jackiegnunez invited me to show me all the great food options they have and the happy hour prices they offer! - El Chingon is a known spot for good Latin music and great vibes. Their bottle service sections come at such an affordable price you can party with your friends on a budget but still have a good time. Some of the menu prices are listed towards the end. They have different prices ranging in different days. - If you don't drink and just wanna enjoy some good bar food, El Chingon has so many different options at such a CHEAP price! You can't go wrong with loaded fries and I recommend trying them and the super sandia drink! I don't even like beer but the fresh water melon bowl and chamoy really took it to the next level. - Jackie recommended the carnita tacos to me but only got one but I wish I got them all carnita bc the meat was super juicy and delicious. Maybe skip out on the grilled chicken options! - Whether you come here at night or come enjoy a fun afternoon with friends, definitely come to 7th street and don't forget to stop by El Chingon.

Loved this spot. Came to Dallas for a girls trip and had a great time here! Service was amazing and food was pretty good. Their drinks were great! Loved the paleta on top of the margarita

Ambience, very colorful and lively. GREAT place for day drinking. The food was okay, but also, I personally don't like Tex-Mex, I love authentic Mexican food, but the portions were very sizable! I also LOVE that there is an option on the menu to buy the kitchen crew beers! Service was nice, I know they're short staffed so our server definitely did the best he can while also hand Other big tables. I'll definitely be back.

The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.

As the name might suggest, this places focuses on cocktails throughout the world. Nonetheless, as the opportunity presented itself, we have usually opted happy hour. The first time I came here, I asked for a drink that was recommended. The bartender made a wonderful espresso martini. Despite what I mentioned, this was not on the happy hour menu. It was still a great drink nonetheless. I should have clarified from my end that I was looking for a happy hour drink. Good level of espresso liqueur with smooth vodka. Also, simple presentation with the coffee beans on top. The second time I came here it was also for happy hour. This time, I got the Bee's Knees. This was refreshing and sweet. The harshness of the gin did come through at times but at a tolerable amount that wasn't overwhelming. I liked the visuals of the dehydrated lemon slice. In both visits, we were regularly checked on by staff seeing if we had anything else to order, to gets dishes/glasses out of the way, refill water, etc. Always so kind! I will also note that the restrooms are incredibly clean and well-stocked. Although I've only come to Atlas for happy hour, I would certainly love to come back some day later in the evening because I've heard the vibe and atmosphere is especially more lively during that time.

I am a Sushi novice to say the least, but my grandson and daughter wanted to introduce me to his new favorite restaurant, he's 15 so I had to see what he was raving about! The only reason I gave 4 stars is, cuz I am not educated on all things sushi and the extensive menu didn't really break down what each category really meant, the place was packed so clearly it's a newbie issue. I mentioned to our server Cameron, who was so polite and professional by the way, that it might be fun to host a monthly Sushi 101, where people could make reservations and for a flat rate the attendees could learn the difference between sashimi, sushi and all the other preparations for the cuisine. People could taste and sample each type and learn a little bit, giving them confidence to put Hush in their local food rotation. I really enjoyed my experience, and will do some research on the different options so I can try some new foods, I have no doubt I can ask my server, but that would have made me uncomfortable making the rest of my party wait while I learn, this was a spur of the moment invite so I didn't have time to do research, totally my problem. I will be going back once I learn more! I enjoyed my food, the Tempura Shrimp roll, we also really liked the smoked salmon roll, the crab rangoon, and shrimp fried rice, all was delicious! We also ordered calamari, which arrived a bit later. It was okay, nothing spectacular, not as crispy as I hoped but the rest of the meal more than made up for it. For sushi, I had the Spicy Atlantic Salmon and the Kani Koi. I absolutely loved the Spicy Atlantic Salmon...it was definitely a favorite but my fiancé preferred the Kanikoi, so everyone wins. We also tried the Kamasu - Barracuda, which was just as delicious. Overall, everything was perfect, and I can't wait to come back to try more hand rolls and a few other dishes.

We were there on Saturday at 2pm, shortly after they opened, and it was a single bartender...so his service was great. Drinks were interesting. They do a number of riffs on tiki drinks: their Morse code is a take on the classic three dots and a dash, they have two zombie riffs, they have a riff on the Painkiller. If you're looking for slavish adherence to the old recipes, this ain't your place. But they're not reinventions, and that's a very tiki thing. Some are misses - the black walnut bitters in the Pain Kill ARR made no sense, but the light rum and lack of honey in the Morse Code were bright and refreshing. Over the span of 150 minutes the two of us had seven drinks and three mixed shots. All well made, all generally good, no absolute home runs. Totally worth a return trip. It'll be fun to visit during a busier time.
